There’s always queue outside the small shop, but the line moves quite fast. Their chowder is delicious. The rolls are good too! There are some outdoor seating, however you must get your food first before you can get the table. This is to be fair to everyone in the line.

CALLING ALL CHOWDER LOVERS!!! The best chowder we've had so far in Pike's Market place! Original New England clam chowder and the seafood bisque are divine! So creamy, seasoned well, and full of seafood! Every time we come to Seattle, we get our fix! 😋

I would give this place a solid 4/5. There is a huge line so it goes kind of fast. That’s the easy part, the hard part is finding to find a table for a small group of 4. The seating is tight so not much room in between tables. The food was delicious. Prices are what you would expect. Expensive but worth trying. -New England clam chowder 5/5 - Creamy, it went well with your bread. I liked the slices with the bacon. Plenty of clams. -Connecticut style Dungeness crab roll 5/5 - it was my first time trying a crab roll and it did not disappoint. It made me crave for more. -Connecticut style lobster roll ⅘ - i loved the lobster roll, I just wished there was more crab in it for the price. -

My favorite place for chowder at pike place. The line is typically long but it’s understandable why, just be prepared that most of the line wraps around outside as the inside is pretty small. Even with a long line, they are quick and efficient so it doesn’t take long to get through. Seating can be difficult to find on a weekend. My friend ordered a 32oz of chowder to take home and it was just as yummy as leftovers the next day. The Lobster roll is great too. We come every time we’re in Seattle!

If you're at Pike's Place and love clam chowder, you NEED to make this a stop on your visit. There was a line to get your food, but it's not slow. Seating availability can be dicey. It's a small area near other restaurants and limited seating. You might have to find seating elsewhere. The soups come out hot and tasty. You won't regret a purchase here.

A year has passed since my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting Pike Place Chowder, and the memory of that delightful experience still brings a smile to our faces. This cozy gem of a restaurant nestled in the heart of Seattle left us with an unforgettable impression, and I'm thrilled to share our wonderful journey with you. From the moment we stepped inside, Pike Place Chowder welcomed us with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The friendly chatter of patrons and the irresistible aroma of simmering chowder filled the air, creating a sense of excitement that had us eagerly anticipating what was to come. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the chowder. Pike Place Chowder is renowned for its award-winning chowders, and it's easy to see why. We opted for a flight of different chowder varieties, and each one was a symphony of flavors that delighted our taste buds. It was more than just a meal; it was a culinary adventure that allowed us to savor the essence of Seattle. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting this charming establishment, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply looking for a heartwarming meal, Pike Place Chowder is a culinary destination that will leave you with lasting memories. A year later, and we're still savoring the taste of Seattle's best chowder, courtesy of Pike Place Chowder.

It’s as amazing as they say. You’ll come back for seconds and thirds and you’ll crave it when you leave. The chowder is incredible! It’s busy but worth it. Find a seat somewhere in the market and sometimes it’s hard to find seating, that’s why atmosphere is 3 stars. I love it at Pike’s ace Market and sitting outdoors to dine, just may not be for all and it’s not always easy to find seating.

Go for the food, not the "experience" of it. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to opening, and a line had just started to form, so we were able to get in, sit, and eat very quickly. You order, then get your food before selecting seats, and they have outdoor seating available. While I had the Connecticut style crab roll and a small seared scallops chowder, my wife went for the classic New England clam chowder. Both chowders tasted excellent, but I preferred the more balanced (in my opinion) flavor of the scallop chowder. The crab roll, however, was my favorite - the buttery goodness of crabmeat just can't be beat. You do get plain bread and plain oyster crackers with any chowder, but my wife felt the bread was too sour (likely sourdough bread) to her liking. Overall some very good food, but realize that depending on the time of day, you may be waiting awhile to eat. One of the staff was sporting a tee that said, "I survived the line at Pike Place Chowder," so you've been warned...

June 2023 Came here for early lunch and the place was VERY busy. This place is located down an alleyway and can be easy to miss, but it is obviously very popular. When the line is long enough, it is broken into two parts so it doesn't block the alleyway. You can tell where the line is by the stanchions/rope barriers they use to organize the line. There is a staff member that went around and gave the people in line small paper menus. If you order online, you can skip the line. Just walk up to the counter when your order is done. The inside is small and crowded. There is a counter for ordering and picking up food, and an area to the side with limited table seating, maybe 5 4-people tables and some high chairs for the counter. Across from the store entrance is a sectioned off seating area that is exclusive to Chowder customers, but that can also be very crowded during peak times. You're also not allowed to hold tables and need to have food in your hand to be able to claim a seat. The staff do enforce this rule. I recommend getting your order to go since you won't know if you'll find seating nearby or not. There are trash cans next to the sectioned off seating area. I will also mention I saw a lot of people ordering the bread bowl, which looks about the size of a medium 12oz bowl. The staff are friendly and quick. We accidentally walked off with only half of our order, and someone came out to give us the other half. I think they're used to dealing with clueless tourists. They included utensils, napkins, and lots of bread and oyster crackers. We got an Oregon Bay Shrimp Roll as well as a sampler of 8 6oz chowders. Note the sampler chowders were not labeled, so we could only guess what some of them were. The only ones we were sure of were the Salmon chowder, Lime & Coconut chowder, and Manhattan Style chowder. All of the chowders were very rich, except for the Lime & Coconut and the Manhattan style. The Lime & Coconut was more like a watery curry in texture, and the Manhattan style was very much just a tomato soup, not chowder. The Salmon chowder was very salty (likely the capers), and tastes very much like Lox without the bagel. Besides those distinctive chowders, the other chowders were very yummy and delicious. The bread was also very good, soft and chewy. Overall, fast service and pretty good chowder. Would come again.

Great clam chowder. Order is very quick, but a seating area is very limited, so maybe difficult to find it depends on the timing. Also, may have to wait on a long line to make an order. Be sure to get an extra time when you are tying to eat at this place.
