One of the best birthday meals I've ever had. Tasting menu is THE way to go. Hands down. 7 tapas style small plates for first course. Pasta second. Protein third with a final dessert. Everything was amazing!! Service was phenomenal. Highly recommend!!

Great place for an interesting dinner. The theme is rustic modern Italian. We opted for a "family style" meal that came with several appetizer tastings: Fried Oysters, Prosciutto, Seared Ahi, Pea Soup, Home Made Buffalo Mozzarella, Bruschetta with Bison Tartar, and Caesar Salad. Next was Conchiglia with Anchovy, followed by a whole grilled Branzini. Then a big dessert to share. Each plate was great. Service was outstanding. They are upfront about charging a 20% service charge to support benefits for their staff. I highly recommend this to foodies that are looking for something different.

This is a great place to have group dining experience, it's definitely on the pricey side for the "chefs choice" multi-course menu, but worth it for the service we received and really amazing food.

I compare all dining experiences to this one. No matter what city, country, town. Our experience here was perfect. Excellent food and service. We reminisce on it often. I wish I could remember the name of our server because he was amazing. I waited tables and bartended for 12 years. He never missed a beat, was there when we needed, but was not overbearing. The food: simply magical. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Definitely in my top 3 dining experiences.

Best dinner I have had in Seattle. The tasting menu is the way to go. Wine suggestions where on point, our server Jonathan was extremely professional and knowledgeable. #foodcoma

Had a wonderful dinner while visiting Seattle! The atmosphere is comfortable, the service amazing and the food outstanding! The tasting menu is a must when visiting. The kitchen prepared amazingly creative, fresh and tasty courses. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable and fun. I suggest making reservations, its a small cozy dining experience that does not just "turn tables" and rush through service. We loved it!!

Went here for restaurant week and turns out I couldn't eat 4/5 appetizers because I'm pregnant (raw egg in salad dressing, seared tuna, prosciutto, etc.). With no special request from me, with each appetizer I was unable to eat, they made and brought a special dish safe for me! I particularly loved the Arancini and my entree was divine: butternut squash and ricotta ravioli in a sage brown butter sauce. Dessert was a delicious mint brownie paired with a perfect cappuccino. Service was perfectly timed and not rushed, waitress was friendly and helpful without interfering. My new favorite restaurant!!!

Try the tasting menu and let the chef take you on a flavor, temperature and texture journey. It's an extraordinary experience for your palate and worth trying at least once.

One of the best meals ever. The peach gazpacho was sublime. Every course was exceptional. We did the chef's menu. Service was superb.

It was a fantastic evening we arrived early and had drinks outside at the high bar on the pavement. By the time we went inside the wait staff knee all about us and what we liked in the food and drink categories. We chose the family menu with lots of surprises they even cooked us lamb. We had been traveling for two months and were missing New Zealand the food was amazing great service and a lovely end to our travels.

Here alone on a craigslist run from Tacoma, I decided to stop in for a dinner in the city. I could not have been more pleased! The tasting menu was a steal-- the equivalent of 10 courses at any other restaurant for a very reasonable price. I felt like I was burglar! These were the only oysters I've ever enjoyed. Short ribs that sang! Pasta with cauliflower that added the right amount of tooth to otherwise pescaterian (anchovy paste) fare...I'm an unapologetic foodie having long worked in fine dining. I'm a nurse now but you made me miss hospitality... Thank you! I'll be back!

What a great experience! The service was excellent, we were able to be seated early for our reservation, with a nice birthday card waiting at the table, and for special occasions we got a drink for a toast, and our group of 3 did the tasting menu and everything was high quality and delicious and they accounted for dietary restrictions. I dunno what they do to their olives but they were just the best. The squash gnocchi had such amazing texture, and the charred chilies that came with the steak were the star for me, but we all loved the sweet corn soup. Great spot for a special occasion or date night, will definitely be back.

Definitely recommend it! We ordered couple of appetizers and two main course for share, all the food are SO DELICIOUS 🤤. Also, their cocktails are just so good. My personal favorite is chicken liver and Foie Gras; also loved the cocktail Arrack on Titan. Also, the service is definitely an A plus! Love the food, the drink, the atmosphere, and especially the service! Will come back again for 120% sure!

First time in Seattle, this was not on the ‘to hit’ list but definitely a very happy accident. We ordered the Stracciatella to start and Pappardelle main, and finished off with the chocolate cake. Taste 1/1* Both the Stracciatella and Pappardelle were astonishing, definitely one of the best pasta we’ve had! Stracciatella had a nice complex mix of flavours and texture, a must try!! Unfortunately did not finish off on a great note as we did not enjoy the dessert as much, still an amazing experience overall! Value 1/1* For the quality of appy and pasta, we’ll worth it! Service 1/1* Even though we sat at the patio, service was fast and friendly Cleanliness 1/1* No complaints Overall/Revisit 1/1* Hell yeah! We be back for the pasta!! Paying for ambience? MAYBE Above and beyond? 0/+1* NO

Had their tasting menu, the food was delicious, except for the cantaloupe soup and the tomato tuna. Nice cocktails.

We ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu. Our compliments to the Chef for his creativity as every dish was well seasoned with flavors to make your taste buds sing! It's difficult to pick a favorite, but we thought the Pappardelle pasta and seared Tuna stood out. We also felt the cauliflower soup was so good that we wanted more! The staff was friendly and accommodating. We're definitely coming back!

We held our wedding dinner down in the private wine cellar and it was everything we could have wanted. Personal bar and enough room for the kids to roam. The chef’s tasting was amazing and they boxed everything we couldn’t finish (we had steak for many days after🤤). Highly recommend this space and restaurant for a small gathering. We had an amazing time and enjoyed everything about the night.

Dined here on my birthday, and we ordered the chefs tasting menu (vegetarian). The appetizer course was my favorite, some of the curations were so thoughtful and I’ve never tried those food combinations before. Loved it! They even offered a complimentary bubbly on the house for my birthday. Service was excellent, staff was very kind. Definitely recommend coming here for a fancy dinner or occasion!! Thank you staple and fancy for making my birthday special :)

This is the best Italian restaurant in Seattle so far! It looks like they increase the cocktail price recently, and I think 15-6 dollars is kinda pricy compared to its taste. Food portions are small but it's really delicious. The staff was so sweet, I'll come again.

I’ve been here with a group and as a solo diner, and I have never had a bad experience. The food is always phenomenal, and you should absolutely try the tasting menu. From the moment you walk in the door, it’s a wonderful experience. They were happily able to accommodate vegetarian preferences for my friend, and are always very attentive to any food allergies or issues.

Staff are very friendly and service is great. However, I think the tasting menu is not structured very well. All appetisers are served at the same time and most of them taste a bit sweet and sour. The pasta is a bit salty but overall very flavourful.

This is one of my new favorites restaurants in town. $65 pre-fixe menu, great service and delicious food. You don't get to pick what to try. They got us the pasta (yummy) and the albacore tuna (decent, I prefer salmon). The drinks were well made too. The appetizers were unique. The cauliflower soup pleasantly surprised us. The sardines were tasty but as they are sardines expect a bit of saltiness. The salad, was heavily seasoned to overcome the bitterness of the leaves. It tasted great, just know what to expect. The coffee based dessert is the best I've had in recent memory. We'll go back again.

A super unique tasting menu with fantastic flavors! It's different from other tasting menus, so be prepared - the appetizer course gives you 6-8 different dishes, then the pasta course is just one plate, then the meat course has a surf and turf concept, and then two types of desserts. I love the family style, but I'm glad it was just three people because any more of us and I'm not sure we'd have been full at the end. I wish I had grabbed more pictures but it was just so tasty that I dove in! Great combinations of flavors, trendy and cool interior with brick accents, a full bar, and friendly staff make this place a solid spot! $70 for a tasting menu in this city isn't bad, and it was a unique experience! Definitely coming back again.

The testing menu at Staple & Fancy was a delight. Initially I was disappointed with the pacing of the meal: my wife and I could not finish one dish before the next arrived. Once my wife pointed out they were all just appetizers I was less worried about how quickly the plates came. There was plenty of time between the appetizers, pasta course, and main. We will absolutely make a trip back. The food was so good I cannot justify dropping a start even though the appetizers could have been a bit more spread out.

Really unique experience. Had the 9 course meal. Most were tasty, fun to try a variety of delectables. Fun for the group to talk about what each other liked. Atmosphere is great

You must make it a point to come find this place - a bit off the beaten path in a neat old building with industrial charm. The service was just as delightful as the food - Ariel was such a joy. The entire tasting menu experience was simply fantastic. This is the best meal we've had in years, and we're definite foodies. For the cost, you really can't get a better value. (In Chicago, this would have cost twice as much!) Will absolutely be coming back again.
