Wow. Just *wow*. I have just eaten the best food, in my life, ever. And it was all vegetarian. It was so good, I'm actually unable to articulate exactly how good it was. There are no words. It was absolute perfection.

I had been here one Saturday evening when the place was bustling with customers. Its a nice, cozy place for a drink and some food. We did not eat much of their food but whatever we ordered was great. The service was good given the place was crowded. It tends to get noisy when the place is packed.

Black bottle specializes in shared plates. I'm a big sucker of such tapas style places as I like to try different food items.

The place is huge but was packed on a week night. Reservations highly recommended. The place is LOUD - very loud.

Menu looks small in size but is extensive and caters to diary free, nut free, gluten free and vegetarian options. Food options aren't traditional but modern take on many pre-existing recipes.

Our server - Patrick was wonderful and guided us well. Recommended a range of dishes given our party size. Well appreciated so that we don't order too much.

We had the following:
1. Chola batura eggplant potato chickpeas - Loved the flavorful chickpeas but bhatura - small size wheat bread was disappointing
2. Broccoli blasted - Wonderful seasoning but little over burnt
3. Burrata arugula salad figs walnuts - Simply wonderful. Right balance of dressing and sweetness
4. Pear caramelized onions & gorgonzola - Awesome but little on sweeter side. could use some spices/flavors.

My friends gave verdict as below:
1. Dry rub house-smoked wild boar ribs - Well seasoned and good
2. Lamb meatballs & sumac humus - Wonderful
3. Seven spice shrimp - Awesome
4. Grilled ahi tuna tacos w cilantro crema - Very dry and disappointing

The price range is $11 to 18 ish per plate. So things quickly add up. The drinks were well done. Would visit again.

Had the most amazing mussels several years ago and have been meaning to come back. So tonight decided to book a reservation for me and my friend who wanted seafood. We ordered the oysters, octopus & calamari. Meh...the food was just ok, but the atmosphere and lighting were really good. Guess if it was a date night, atmosphere & lighting will comp for the ok food.

On a summer evening, the (original) bell town outpost of Black Bottle is probably one of the best ways to wind down a day of shopping in downtown. Love the glass doors, the great cocktails -but the one thing I have come back for over and over is that stunning grilled halloumi. Mixed mushrooms, dates and roasted bell peppers make the perfect sideshows for the star-that char-grilled, chewy, salty halloumi. I have tried to recreate this dish at home, but it never quite comes out the same way. Sigh.

Cute Little Gastropub. Cool space located on the north end of Belltown. The ambience makes me feel like I'm in NYC for some reason. Yummy small plates, creative cocktails, and good wine selection.

Of course I got their famous Broccoli Blasted again! In addition, I got Pork Belly & Kimchi, Steamed clams and the Hanger steak. These three dishes were also very good. Pork belly is my weakness and I enjoyed how they prepared it. I’m also very picky when it comes to shell fish. I have to say the clams were cooked and flavored very well. As for the hanger steak, well it’s hanger steak so it’s not the best steak, but it wasn’t bad either. What I didn’t try were any of their wine selections so this review is just on the food .

Just like Black Bottle’s old reliable menu items, though, there’s something to be said for consistency, reliability, and the places that have stuck it out with us through all the neighborhood ups, downs and, yes, hipsters.

When we arrived at the Black Bottle Gastro-Tavern in Belltown, I was reminded of an episode of Seinfeld. It's the one where Jerry made a reservation for a rental car, yet they didn't have a car available for him. He says, "See, you know how to take the re

Recommend. It was raining and we were just coming out of The Big Picture on 1st Ave between Wall and Vine, so we walked a half block to the Black Bottle. Comfortable, unpretentious ambiance. Food was very good. Good selection of small plates in the meat, seafood, veggie and other categories. I ordered hanger steak which I thought was very good and a plate of roasted veggies, which included green beans, peppers, parsnips, yams, onions, brussells sprouts, and a few others I can't remember. These veggies were too much for one person and, in fact, served our our table of four quite adequately. A friend ordered the lamb meatballs with hummus, and my husband ordered the chorizo+octopus. Both these dishes (octopus and lamb) were very tasty. Another friend ordered the ribs, which I would not recommend. Too spicy and dry, I thought. My Albarino wine was good ($7 for a glass). Service was good -- attentive but not intrusive. Our desserts -- a peach/blueberry kettle tart and a lemon kurd ricotta cake -- were excellent. Coffee was excellent. The prices were reasonable. Our bill ended up at $60/couple.

Couldn't have been happier. We ate here on a trip to Seattle (from Portland) and were bowled over at the food and the menu. The Greek Salad was one of the best salads I've ever had. My husband even loved the kale, which he normally avoids. We didn't love the pork, but that was probably that by comparison it wasn't as flavorful. Great service, nice space. Awesome find.

Good food for the money, happy atmosphere. Stopped by on a busy Friday night and we were well accommodated by the staff. This small plates place has a lot of variety, and the portion sizes are quite generous ... ordered 3 small plates for 2 which were quite a lot. Flatbread was hot and delicious and go very well with the drinks. Other dishes were good for the value. A bit noisy but overall a great ambience for the evening out. This will definitely make my rotation either for weekdays or weekends. Will be coming back!

Another Happy Customer. Six of us stopped in for dinner before heading out to The Big Picture. We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday night and were seated alone in the back room. It was peaceful/tasteful and our server, Christina, gave us excellent advice. After some well mixed drinks we shared a few orders of fresh arugula with fresh tomato basil pesto, local sausages beer mustard braised, roasted tomato caprese with fresh oregano, seven spice shrimp (my favorite), ceviche and handmade tortillas, cumin pork tenderloin and frisee. All were delicious and everyone was quite pleased. No wonder so many people rated this highly.
Btw, by the time we left at 7:40 the place was rockin' and our peaceful interlude was well timed.

Good food, nice variety. Ate with GrubWithUs and had a nice meal that allowed tasting several different dishes. The fried Spanish olives with romesco sauce is great. Fried chicken on a stick was really good too. Smoked ribs were very nice. I'll definitely be back. May try the version in Bellevue, too.

Very tasty fresh food with local ingredients and great atmosphere. Bar was perfectly uncrowded when we arrived about 4:30 pm. By the time we left it was hopping and happy. Mixed grilled veggies were fantastic. Spicy shrimp had some serious heat and I even had the fried shrimp heads which crackled liked spicy shrimp popcorn. The confit duck lettuce wraps with cornichons and sliced red grapes was okay but the cold temp for me threw the balance of flavors off. Overall liked the place very much and would eat there again

Great beer, yummy food. Overall I really liked the Black Bottle, particularly the ambiance of the restaurant - it is spacious and dark but cozy. My main comment is that the many descriptions didn't really reflect what actually was served to us. Many of the main courses are salad based and that was a surprise. The artichoke dish was really tasty except that the salad that accompanied it was so peppery that I had a coughing fit. The service was friendly but slow.

Pretty Good. Black bottle had a lot of tasty food but it was nothing to shout from the roof tops about. I went for my company's holiday dinner party. Four of us shared six plates. The spicy shrimp, oxtail, blasted brroccoli, chicken laab, bacon-wrapped scallops, and the ceviche. We also got 3 desserts amongst us, the kettle tart, ricotta cake, and the chocolate torte. The spicy shrimp was really good, the oxtail was mediocre (don't care for it much anyway), broccoli was interesting and good, cicken laab was the best plate (but the new flavors they tried to add didn't live up to a good thai laab gai), scallops were over cooked and bacon was under-cooked, the ceviche was decent. The kettle tart was really good, the ricotta cake was not good and had the weirdest texture ever, the chocolate torte was pretty good and the pistachio brittle that went with was awesome. All in all it was a satisfying meal but I wouldn't initiate another meal there.

Fab Fab Fabulous!. Service was friendly, atmosphere was chill, music was bangin', and the food? SUPERB.

I got the lamb: a hearty plate of kebabs, hummus with pine nuts, cucumber slices, greek salad, and tzatziki sauce. My partner ordered the lemon bacon scallops with kale. Deelish as well, if you like seafood. And bacon.

Go here. Seriously.

Blasted broccoli is the best. Really good, affordable small plates, great ambiance & a good wine list make this a favorite spot. I adore their frazzled, charred "blasted broccoli"...I don't know how they do it but their dish converts me from a broccoli-tolerant to an all-out fan.

Great food, great wine. I went with a group of girlfriends and had a great time. We shared a few tapas plates and was impressed with all of them! My favorite was the Sicilian eggplant mozzarella flatbread with a glass of their Barolo!

New: Lunch at Black Bottle. Until today, Belltown was the last neighborhood in Seattle without a pho parlor. No longer. Black Bottle, that estimable watering hole for the the Under 30 set, is now serving an elegant pho made with beef brisket that's braised to medium-rare, then roasted to order. The lean and fatty bits--and it's a huge amount of meat--meet up in the broth, and pho, of course, is all about the broth: beef bones, star anise, rock sugar, fennel, cinnamon, simmered for five hours. (Work starts at 6 AM, which means that Brian Durbin's kitchen now runs 22-plus hours a day.) Basil, lime, jalapenos, spouts, a dish of plum sauce and sri racha, weighty china and substantial chopsticks, too.

The pho is $7, a bargain anywhere. Also on the lunch menu: tacos, pastrami sandwiches, squid salad, cioppino. In daylight, without the wall-to-wall sweet young things, peace descends and Black Bottle's like another world: heaven.

Swank. Yeah, it's "swank," but there are more than a couple of well dressed guys looking to impress the ladies (a good thing or bad thing depending on your perspective) and the wine is all right. It can get really full at night, and parking is always crazy, though.

Is it Hipster in Here or Is It Just Me?. Dropped by Black Bottle with a friend at around 6-ish for a glass of wine, and was impressed by how packed the place was. We walked from one end of the bar to the other and could not find a seat. Alas, the kind hostess told us there was a table in the back room available, so we took it. The ambience in Black Bottle that night was very dark, very loud (but in that urban buzzing sort of way), but surprisingly I could hear everything my friend was saying. The wine list is fairly good - we noshed a bit on two plates, while sipping our wine. I had the steamed clams which were on the spicy side, but very good nonetheless. She had the potato and prosciutto wheels (prosciutto-wrapped potatoes), which were very good too. Black Bottle has a very urban hipster feel. If the food and wine weren't that great I'd totally opt to go somewhere quieter and less conspicuous, but it's quite the opposite. The food and wine are good and well-worth the try.

Great late nite. If you need a late nite bite and you're looking for something better than Dick's than Black Bottle is the place to go. I have tried lots of their stuff and narrowed it down to: hanger steak, broccoli, couple of flat bread and the tiramisu. Get a glass of wine and you're good to go!

Good Food, terrible service.. The food is incredible, but I have never been in a place where I have been more neglected as a customer. Especially one where, as a party of 12, gratuity is included, and pumping us for drinks would actually increase the tip.

We had a fabulous experience at Black Bottle! Alex was an exceptional server and really made the experience top notch! It was the first night out for us in quite a while (we have two toddlers at home), and I’m so glad we chose the Black Bottle for dinner! The drinks had the perfect flair, the food was creative and delicious, and the atmosphere was active but not chaotic. It was just what we needed when treating ourselves:) we will definitely be coming back. We loved the location and proximity to local venues as well-easy access to parking was an added plus too. Thanks BB!

I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for the past 5 years, I finally got the opportunity to go since I turned 21 earlier this year. I celebrated my friend's birthday, and it was a phenomenal experience. The server was very attentive and friendly, the drinks were awesome and had nice presentations, the food came out quickly and was unbelievably delicious.

My husband and I absolutely love Black Bottle. We had our first date here and spent our second anniversary here on New Years. The food was amazing. The ravioli and brazed ribs are delicious. Ate way more than we should have, because we had to try the Pear and gorgonzola flat bread. It was worth it....! Easy to say we'll be back again.

Wow I had an amazing experience here with the help of our waiter named Alex. He was super nice, chill, and cool. We got 4 plates and a drink each and was overly full but we got dessert and rosé. All the dishes were super flavorful. My favorite dish was either the shrimp or the crab dip…just everything was so unique! I’d come back!

What a delightful and tasty experience! We ordered the katsu avocado fries, which I think they might have already had made because they were warm/room temp but still tasty. We also got the pear and caramelized onion flatbread, super tasty! The cocktails were on point which I always appreciate. We also got the kafte meatballs with the tatzike and hummus, another great dish. The atmosphere was quiet yet fun, we had the window table and it was great people watching on the Seattle streets. Enjoy !

Cozy ambience, great staff (Alex, you will go far with that personality!), deliciously complex food. The shishito peppers with ladolemono was an enticing start and a winning combination. The bacon-wrapped scallops were a little small and hard and didn't have that quintessential flavor, and a bed of kale was not a good match for their soft, subtle flavor, nor was the kale a pleasant texture to eat. However, the dessert knocked it out of the park: lemon ricotta cake with lavender. This was the first time I actually tasted the lavender, sprinkled generously on top rather than incorporated as an essence, and it was delightful paired with the lemon - and the ricotta was a lighter, more textured cheese (than cream cheese) making for a delicious cake altogether.

12/10! Visiting from out of state, stumbled upon this gem ... quiet, hip setting, perfect for party of 1. Clean atmosphere & bathrooms. Alcohol and food selections are great & portions are perfect... came back a 2nd time & cannot say enough about Angel, Elijah & Charles! Service was top notch! A must visit as the building used to be an old hospital...lots of history and $ is well spent! (Warning : shrimp dish has heat lol)
