Tiny little store with delicious chirashi bowl. The fish is very fresh and delicious, portion is generous and price is very fair. I will definetely come again. P.s.: There were some flies flying around in the resturant but it is hard to avoid at this time of year and it really did not bother us.

Great price for incredible quality thick cut sushi. I have returned several times because of this. A small menu, but that doesn’t matter in the slightest.
Recently, I ate in with a companion and a homeless man came in and started bothering us. He was asking us questions while we were trying to finish our meal. The cashier/server came over and politely told the man to leave. After the man left, he spoke to us very charismatically and was kind.
He also had other customers come in and dealt with them in the same charismatic manner.
Overall an extremely amazing experience. Highly recommend.

Very simple and small joint to eat at. Got the chirashi with salmon, yellowtail and eel. It was pretty standard and good price. Nice place to stop by for a simple quick meal.

We had beef bowl and chirashi bowl. Both are so delicious. The rice is not too much and the fish is so delicious so we are not stuffed after the dinner! Highly recommended!

Musashis is a hidden gem in Wallingford. Their sushi is really well-priced, delicious, and perfect for a quick, easy, and delicious lunch. Their service is fast, it’s really simple to order. It’s got a really good local sushi place vibe. You should definitely check it out!

Ordering was smooth and service was really fast. Best part of the meal was the Miso soup. The veggie roll was also really good. Rice was cooked well. Fish quality in the Chirashi bowl was alright and that was the let down.

Great place for affordable sushi. The noodle salad is the best! Note they ONLY take plastic now.

Best sushi I've had outside of Japan.
The quality of the fish is perfect, the rice has the right amount of vinegar and warmth, the temperature of the fish is just right, the proportions of the fish to rice is almost perfect (this is for the nigiri and sushi... they should reduce the rice quantity by 15%), the price is amazing.
I can't go anywhere else because this place is so delicious.

If you want super fresh (never frozen) sushi at a awesome price (huge pieces) then this is the spot. I've been coming here ever since they opened waaaaay back in the days and its only got better. Place has been renovated but still has its old school charm. Its a small place and it gets very busy so expect to wait but it's well worth it.

Fish lovers: rejoice! Everything is delicious and not overpriced! Go in person for the best price, ordering online will cost you more than you’ll pay and the wait is very reasonable. Make sure you bring your mask and wait outside until it’s your turn to order or until your order is ready.
Fish haters: if you order the teriyaki chicken, it comes with a side that has fishy flavors, so you might want to omit that side from your order.
The food is really great; my sushi was amazing. Next time I’ll have to try their signature bowl! The staff was very kind and said if I needed a certain fish subbed out, they would be happy to make any changes I needed. Only one person is allowed inside at a time so bring a mask and be prepared to brave the weather while you wait for your togo food. Totally worth it!!

Service is exceptionally fast so even though there is a wait it is not bad. You can also order take out if you don't have time to wait. If you stay tho you get complementary green tea and miso soup. Super affordable chirashi don. It was so filling I didn't have room to try any rolls. Fish was pretty fresh and you get what you pay for. Definitely can't expect top quality fish where it melts in you mouth but it is a great deal for a full meal. Love this place. Would highly recommend!

Musashi on 45th never lets you down! I ordered chirashi bowl to go substitute unagi and scallop for seared salmon and they did not disappoint! The presentation is great fish is fresh as well! Compare the presentation from the newly opened Kent location. The rice at the 45th location was softer as well compared to the one in Kent. Highly recommend musashi's on 45th near uDistrict.

Oh my, so good! Tasty, authentic quality food and drink. Reasonable prices. Cozy environment. Very friendly, welcoming accommodating staff. A spot the locals love. If you want a taste of seafood and Seattle, come here.
Kristina
Good fish in sushi and rolls but, in my opinion, way too much of it. I’m used to sushi that can fit in my mouth and melt there. But they gave us complimentary miso soup right when we came in which was great! Price is also great.

I would give 5 stars for the food itself. Chirashi bowl was the best meal I've had for a while. The reason I'm taking one star off is because the place was too small. And they only take cash. Seriously? I would rather pay little bit more and pay with my card.

This is a nice small place and there's usually a line but it moves fairly quickly. We had the bowl and bento for lunch. The chicken on the skewer were tender and flavorful. The sashimi was fresh and the broiled eel was very good as well.

I love all of their food on the menus, tho I won't eat ebi due to allergic. Everything is good, but the things that make it inconvenient was I should pay by cash and they won't take any cards. And the line is long due to the restaurant's pretty narrow, but that make it special haha. :) and both of these photos are my favorite!!!!! Chirasi bowl (their speciality) and unagidon!!!

I really love their Chirashi bowl. It's very delicious and affordable. I always order the Chirashi bowl every time I come here. I tried their rolls once and those rolls were so big. I couldn't eat it in one bite.

The queue is so long. So if you want to eat there and don't want to stand outside for 30 minutes or so, the best way is that you have to come 5-10 minutes before the restaurant open.

Please bring your cash because they don't accept payment with cards.

Overall, their Chirashi bowl is the best affordable Chirashi bowl that I've ever tried!

One of the to go places in Seattle! My favorite has to be the chirashi bowl. You can customize your choices of fish as you wish and they all have very good quality compared to many other Japanese restaurant. The prices are also pretty reasonable for the potions. Their service are pretty quick and the servers are very friendly. If you want to have lunch or dinner, I recommend you to come 10-15 minutes before they open because usually they will already have a line and you'll have to wait at least 30 minutes or you can get a take out which would be even faster. Also, I recommend you to try other dishes too - their beef bowl was pretty good too.

I Don't Get It. There's ALWAYS a line outside but I don't understand why. I've eaten there several times and it's pretty good sushi but not great. They only take cash and the tables are squeezed into a very small space. Too much inconvenience for "pretty good" sushi.

The small, casual restaurant could sit a few table of customers and had a wall of local event posters. The staff quickly sat us at a table before we made our order. The most popular dish, chirashi bowl (USD$14.50), came with generous amount of sashimi and sushi rice. The cuts were thick and fresh, however, the quality was average. Not as amazing as Shiro’s, but given its price, we considered it acceptable.

First off you need to know they are cash or check only location. Hey, if keeps cost down I am all for it. Second, they are a small venue. So expect it to be crowded and busy. You may have to wait and rub elbows with Seattle locals. Our last visit was this week. Mel and I had the day off, with our little one was in day care for the morning. We stopped in around 1130, and the place was actually kind of quite. We ordered four rolls, and order of Unagi and Inra. The entire order came out very quickly, while we sipped complentry hot te

As you can tell, I really like this place! Some tips: cash or check only! If you want to skip the wait, I suggest calling in your order to go. Lastly, you can modify your chirashi bowl to your liking. I

When you’re short on credit but still want that sashimi lifestyle, look no further than Musashi . I’m not a sushi connoisseur but the infamous Musashi Chirashi bowl will not disappoint anybody. You get fresh thick cuts of salmon, tuna and other raw sea treasures that will make you scream Instagram. Some quick things about Musashi’s before coming here – it isn’t that big, there’ll be a wait and it’s cash only. However, it will be well worth it and you’ll have extra cash for drinks later that night. Previous post Fonda La Catrina Leave a Reply Click here to cancel reply. I have driven by this place a million times and I've said to my SO, "We should try that place sometime..." But the line out the door always changes my mind. It's a tiny little restaurant located in Wallingford, right down the street from Archie McPhee's! The restaurant seats maybe 25-30 people, so it's easily crowded. We had good timing, arriving around 6:30pm, and we only had a 5 minute wait. That was a relief. We had a back up plan to go somewhere else in Wallingford if the wait was more than 15 minutes. I really hate waiting for a table, but on rare occasions, I'll be patient and wait. Chirashi $14 I decided to have the Chirashi. Chirashi is basically just seasoned sushi rice topped with a variety of sashimi. The sashimi on top of the rice consisted of 2 pieces of Unagi (cooked, seasoned Eel), 1 piece of Ebi (Shrimp), 4 pieces of Shiro Maguro (Albacore Tuna), 4 pieces of Maguro (Tuna), 4 pieces of Sake (Salmon), 4 pieces of Hamachi (Yellowtail) an

This longstanding Japantown favorite serves plenty of cooked dishes, but most people are there for the fish. Affordably priced sushi, sashimi, and chirashi all aim to please, with successful results.

Fresh, raw, slimy fish served with a side of sinus-clearing wasabi…..is there anything better? If I had to eat one type of food for the rest of my life, it would be Japanese. I have sushi at least once a week, but also love the full array of Japanese del

I feel so torn writing about Musashi's and there are several reasons for this: One, it has a special place in my heart because Mitsuko is part of my family. Two, it was the first place I ever worked (busing tables at the tender age of 12). Three, they hav

The lines will tell you how good it is.. Best food in Seattle. Lines can be a bit long but they move people in and out quite well. Good servings, great service, incredible food. Enjoy!

Now I know why there are always lines of college kids out the doors. Flintstone sized portions of marginal quality fish for cheap prices. My rolls were both flavorless with dry nori. Pickled ginger was dry and stringy. I saw one of the cooks cutting up about 10 pounds of Maguro and stacking it in a bin in the kitchen. This would explain why my piece was oxidized and turning dark and brown. Disappointing.

Worth the wait. So delicious but be fast! They are super fast at lunch time. Get you in and out. Giant tamago, fish is fresh and served simple, like authentic sushi.
Prices are great too. Always a must when in the area.

25 years and counting, a former wallingford native moved a half hour away but we still drive in often just to come here - from before I was married, converted my husband and now the kids. We all love this place!

Huge pieces of sushi that had traces of tobiko on it when I didn't order anything with tobiko. That was dirty, sloppy and digusting.

Musashi is cheap and super good.. It is rare to find a place that serves good food and cost less. Musashi is one of those places. I love the chirashi and the sukiyaki beef bowl along with their signature kani salad. damn its so good. this is my twice a week place to eat

Good for lunch. Not sure I'd come back for dinner.

Yes, it's the greasy spoon of sushi, if there can be such a thing. You're there for the food not the decor. Great sushi for a decent price. Simple menu, quick service, yummy sushi.

Didn't think it was special. We ate there once and thought it was overrated. Sushi was OK. Atmosphere desires better; I wouldn't recommend going there on a hot day since it can be very hot inside.

Infamous long wait. First thing that stood out to me were the self-serve carafes of non-bitter green tea on every table. +1
Service was quick and friendly.
Spicy Tuna roll was great, but other than that the fare is pretty standard. Fresh and simple.
I've been spoiled/accustomed to the flashy fusion-style of Umi's, and don't think I can quite appreciate Musashi's purity.
VERY affordable. Cute small tables.

Awesomeness. Best Sushi in Seattle.. This place is one of my favorites. Sushi for a solid price-the waiter-she's pretty nice for the lunch hour, and the feeling of being in a small, confined area...well...it does make you feel like you're in japan for once. thousands of miles away from tokyo. Food is SOLID, as the cuts of meat are FRESH, and like the salmon...wow...they give you a nice, oily cut of meat. (big pieces too) Just melts in your mouth, no fishy aftertaste. Quite frankly, IT IS the best bang for your buck in seattle, and the fish is good. The only downside I can mention, is that musashi's isn't the ideal place for a big group of people. couples plz!

Mediocre at best. I finally tried Musashi after driving past it for years and I was very disappointed!!! Sure it was inexpensive but not only were the slices of sashimi paper thin, but the rice for the ngiri was an inch thick. All I tasted was rice. And as previous reviews say, the place is very dirty. You want good inexpensive sushi that is authentic, try Shiki in lower Queen Anne.

REALLY GOOD for Price but Long Wait. This place you will get BEST Sushi. Really Cheap. Chirachi is 14 bucks but more Sashimi and Rice compare to Kozu's 25 bucks Chirachi. Big pieces of Shushi. Only down side is not many vareity as Tempura or Sake etc. Just mainly Sushi and Teriyaki. Really Cheap but long wait. MAKE SURE YOU BRING CASH OR CHECKS. NO CARD IS ACCEPTED THERE :)

I love sushi, but.... I really really love sushi. I especially like large pieces of fresh raw fish that doesn't break the bank. I also sometimes like complex and interesting combinations of sushi as rolls or nigiri... but mostly i just like sashimi. Anyway, musashi's consistently delivers good tuna for a low price, but the place is really so dirty that I am lately having a hard time looking past the disgusting bathroom and kitchen. I mean, we're talking about raw fish, right? Shouldn't the whole operation be fairly clean? Anyway, the maguro is excellent but don't look to closely into the kitchen.
