We enjoyed a low key weekend lunch at this casual spot. We had no wait (11:45am, Saturday in May), nor did anyone who came in after us. We sipped some local brews at the bar while my husband studied for an exam. The staff was incredibly friendly and clearly knew many of the locals. We love this kind of neighborhood brewery where everyone feels welcome. We had a steak sandwich and the special buffalo fried chicken sandwich, both with potato salad. The steak sandwich was huge and delicious. The buffalo chicken sandwich was also a large portion and super tasty. It had a nice balance of spicy and cream from the ranch dressing. The potato salad was awesome.
Such a great neighborhood bar. The atmosphere can't really be replicated anywhere else. Dim light, smooth music, great beer and great comfort food. The menu has some great selections. The staff and owner are awesome. Very attentive and super nice. Definitely, if you're in the area must stop in for a drink and/or food. They also offer a good happy hour.
Had a wonderful experience here. Friendly helpful staff and a beautiful atmosphere with stained glass and beer label artwork all around. It was like a need church vibe.
I didn't have time for a photo of the NY chopped beef sandwich because my body could not stop eating it once I had a bite. It was amazing. Really broke my expectations and has ruined me for chopped beef. I will have to pilgrim back to philly and NY to try and find something to crutch on until I get to come back to Seattle.
The bread was really amazing. It was a perfect sandwich.
I will be back.
When adventure means trying a new place to eat in your home city, I ventured to Columbia City Ale House. The service was grand. The atmosphere is, well, like an ale house. The crab and pork cake was excellent. The sambal was very spicy, so go easy. I folded the pita like a soft taco and it worked to contain the fillings. The side salad was delicious; I finished that first. Yum! I'll be back.

You won't regret the gumbo. I want to try the whole menu. I end up with the gumbo. It's fantastic.
The most delicious food (the steak sandwiches are the best - off the charts delicious), paired with the friendliest service and kindest humans, great selection of brews, and your seattle sports favs so you don’t miss the game. Columbia city alehouse is the best. Even after moving away from the area, it’s a destination spot I still journey to whenever I get the chance, and it never disappoints!
Love this place and the food is amazing! We come here 1-2 times a month and bring folks from outside of Seattle who still rave about it. Emily’s management through the pandemic has been nothing short of epic!
Awesome neighborhood bar with a solid happy hour menu. It has a ‘Cheers’ like vibe. Very welcoming and the food is delicious. Service is always excellent!
I love this place. Food and service always excellent. Good beer options. An understated, underrated local hang.
Nice pub right on the walkable front street of Columbia City, the menu has some great options from the standard sandwiches to specials that have some German flair. Great spot for a drink or a quick bite.
