Flat out fantastic! Tofu foie gras. Everything tempura. The namesake dish. The pickled veg app. Seriously not a bad bite. Believe the hype about the soba.

Absolutely wonderful. Highlights were the foie gras tofu app and the foie gras ice cream. I like foie gras. Will need to return to try all the ones I missed.

Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. The chef is genius with the Buckwheat Soba noodles, but in my opinion the broth steals the show!

I came in tonight for a quick visit with friends. The Japanese curry soba with pork katsu was the perfect seasonal choice! Thanks chef!

Excellent hand cut soba and side dishes. Ordered the zaru soba with tempura ebi and the shishito pepper appetizer. If you are looking for a purist soba experience 'just like Japan' this is it.

We came here with high recommendations from a friend. The reservations were full, so we took a shot at walk-in. We got lucky and waited 1 hour to get our table. We received a surprise amuse bouche. It was definitely a palate cleanser. To start, we got the Shime Saba, the Hokkaido Scallop Chawanmushi, the Octopus Ahijo, and Shrimp Tempura. The Shime Saba was light and refreshing with bursts of acidic tones. The Hokkaido Scallop Chawanmushi was a much heavier dish as it had egg custard. The Octopus was tender and intriguing. My kids enjoyed the Shrimp Tempura, though it was pretty oilly. Between starters, I would prefer the Shime Saba. We got the kids the Tempura Kake Soba while my wife and I got the Kamonegi Seiro Soba and the Cream of Black Trumpet Mushroom Soba. The kids enjoyed their soba. I actually prefer theirs over the ones we ordered. The Kamonegi Seiro Soba is the restaurant's most popular soba, and I can see why. The broth is interesting, and the duck meat was indulgent. I liked the meatball especially. The Cream of Black Trumpet Mushroom Soba was earthy as expected. It was far too earthy for me. Due to the kids' nagging, we got the Oreo Tempura and Miriam's Parfait. Both were quite sweet. Surprisingly, my kids did not finish the Oreo Tempura. This Soba place is a little different than the familiar and mainstream noodle shops. I can see why there's always a line-up.

Highly recommend Kamonegi's soba and tempura! We ordered the coffee salmon tartare, matsutake black cod chawanmushi, eggplant tempura, uni shiso tempura, kamonegi seiro hot dipping-style soba, and hojicha panna cotta. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The kamonegi seiro broth was rich, and the soba noodles were perfectly cooked. Definitely coming back to explore their other soba dishes.

Kamonegi makes my favorite soba - the duck meatball seiro has such a rich and umani taste. We got 4-5 dishes for 2 people, all of them were delicious and fresh, the tempura eggplants and eels are quite unique with great texture.

A very special place for tasting modern Japanese food. I doubted the authenticity when looking at the menu but the dishes I ordered were full of umami. They were not "authentic" per se, but their taste had multiple layers of interesting and inquisitive flavors, and in my opinion, better than the traditional tempura and soba I had before. The only downside is that this place is pretty expensive. A 20% service charge is automatically applied. If you are adventurous and would love to try out modern Japanese food with a touch of western influence, I'd highly recommend that you try out this place and explore their menu.

Was excited to eat at this Asian owned, women owned restaurant. This place is known for their soba. There are dipping so as, cold sobas, and hot sobas. So, there is something for everyone. The service was amazing. Our host provided us with great suggestions on what to eat and how much to order. We felt very welcomed. We tried a few apps that were mouthwatering. I could eat that okra dish all day long. The duck meatballs were phenomenal. This place is vegetarian and vegan friendly. A reservation is recommended if you want to get into this small space but it's such a chill and welcoming vibe.

Cool experience and fantastic staff. Steak tartare was delicious (as were all the other dishes). Soba was great. Overall, food was exceptionally flavorful and feel-good.

Reviewing as a vegetarian- I went with 3 other vegetarians and we were all able to get different dishes. Several veggie sobas available (both hot and cold) which is awesome! One star deducted because value for food is not great (it’s overly expensive for what it is). Glad I tried it, but probably wouldn’t come back bc of price. Also no air conditioning so avoid going on hot days. Make reservations in advance. Street parking available

We were very excited to try this place. We recently spent 3 weeks in Japan and loved exploring all the different food options, cold soba being one of those. We also enjoyed Art of the Table when it was in this same space many years back. While the space is still great, the food was mediocre all around. The highlight for us was the zucchini tempura, but the soba noodles were very difficult to eat as they clumped together and the broth was way over salted. I'm a little confused about all the awards and accolades. Our hope was this would be on par with our Japanese food experiences, but I guess our hunt will continue.

Super good soba and tempura. The soba has the perfect firmness. The tempura was light and crispy. Overall super high quality ingredients cooked very well. Tbh I’m glad I tried this place but it’s quite expensive for what you get, personally I don’t think I would be a return customer but that’s also due to having so many other great options around Seattle. I recommend making reservations if you go and there is also a great little sake bar next door.

The menu here creatively adapts Japanese home meals. I like how they rotate their menu frequently. I would recommend the tempura - they’re light and crisp and the batter is thin. The soba is what they’re known for. It’s good but the broth could have been warmer when it was served

We got to sit at the little bar in the corner of the building. It was a great intimate experience for an amazing lunch! Our bartender/server was incredibly friendly and helped me choose the sake and soba noodles that he thought I would like. And, oh boy, was he spot on. I was in heaven! The noodles are homemade and perfect! The broth was refreshing and had just the right amount of spice. I can't brag about this place enough. If I could give more stars, I would!!! This is an absolute must eat if you're in the area! Thank you for an amazing experience!

Best soba spot! Everything we ordered was so special and delicious. The fish head curry was very flavorful, the beef broth dipping soba was the best broth I’ve had. The staff were incredibly kind and informative. Definitely coming back!

Very small cramped restaurant but their food and service makes up for it. We ordered many different foods from the menu and every single one of them were flat out amazing. Especially all of their soba noodles, tempura and ducks were exceptionally good. All the employees were very attentive, polite and helpful. Highly recommend. I would definitely go back

Fancy noodles. The food was delicious, a bit spendy though. The building looks to have been converted from something else, and there was no air flow in the place. I came on a warm day, and it was hotter in the dining area than outside, I was sweating the entire time. Be aware they proactively add a 20% gratuity to the check.

I had an awesome meal here. All dishes were excellent but especially notable was the fois gras tofu. The mackerel was as really nicely prepared. It goes without saying that the soba rocks. Also, try the tempura Oreos (no joke). Very compelling and very nice dessert. Service was excellent.

Phenomenal service and atmosphere. The seasonal soba dish was fantastic, Cream of Black Trumpet Mushroom. Had it with a side of fried mochi. It was so incredible that i wanted to recommend it to nearby tables that were just sitting down to eat.

Seriously incredible. The foie gras tofu is a must. The Oreo tempura and sesame ice cream is a game changer.

I could eat the foie gras tofu happily every day for the rest of my life. And I hate tofu. Everything here was excellent, but that dish just brings it up to another level. Second visit a year later: The food here is still just as incredible.
