Overall a good dinner at Bataeu, we’ve been dying to check it out the last few months. I was expecting a little more upscale due to the menu prices. Its pretty small inside and the tables were very close together. We were kind of squashed up against the wall and felt like we were part of the table next doors convo. I dressed up but it’s not necessary, people were dressed very casual. We had a few stellar dishes like steak tartare, mushrooms with egg was phenomenal! The burger was good but I was expecting a bit more for the price tag. The homemade donut was great but the filling was a bit off to me. They do have some great steak options on the menu, they dry age 45 days and have the cuts hanging in window.

Oh my... haven't had steak this good in a loooooong time. Everything tasted delicious, the room was pretty small and not too loud which was a perfect setting to have a nice dinner. All the waitresses were very nice and knowledgeable, and recommended us the perfect piece of meat. Waiting time was very reasonable, and their cocktails are good too!

Bateau is just a completely different kind of steakhouse. You walk in and there's this giant chalkboard with all of the cuts they are featuring for the evening. When they're gone - they're gone. There's a girl that comes around with a long stick and a big piece of chalk and just cross them out, and then you're out of luck. Guys... it was like the Hunger Games!! 😂 As we contemplated our order, anxious for our server to arrive before chalk girl came back and took away our choices! It was both nerve wracking and exhilarating. 😬 But the food was absolutely spectacular and the service spot on, despite a very, very busy Saturday night. If you find yourself in Seattle and can snag a reservation, GO!

Very pleasant experience. Staff listens to what type of steak you like and provide their best recommendations. All the flavors blended together, and the spot is very romantic.

Had the chef’s tasting menu for birthday celebration. Definitely a great experience to savor the food. Each dish is unique in flavor. Allow yourself about 2 hours or more to enjoy the whole dining experience.

My husband and I had a fantastic belated Valentine’s here at Bateau this past Monday. The atmosphere was very welcoming, as well as the staff, and of course the food was AMAZING, one of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in a long time. We especially loved the carpaccio and the fromage ice cream from the chefs tasting menu, which pairs perfectly with the port. Special shout out to our server Ash and another employee Taylor who made out night feel extra special!

Fantastic food and even better service? I took my brother here for his birthday, and they gave us a little card that said happy birthday. The cuts of steak that are available change everyday. I found the list of available steaks a little overwhelming. I asked my waiter for an 8 ounce fatty steak and she picked out the perfect steak for me. We also got the croquettes, the beef fat brioche, and the aligot. Absolutely loved each of those dishes especially the aligot! Will definitely go back.

First time visiting the restaurant and i love it. Service is excellent, food is delicious and atmosphere is...if you know her other restaurants it is showing her taste (which i like). Only thing confused me is the steak selection. Too many for someone who doesn't eat steak (or meat) often and i have hard time choosing one!

Had a great dining experience. Wait staff very attentive and really knew their menu, beverages etc. Service was impeccable - attentive but not overly so. Loved the decor - big open windows, small tables, really lovely. Food was very good - started with the salad and the French onion croquettes. Both were delicious and rather large. Hubby had the off menu burger - burger was delicious but a little over powered by the carmalized onion jam. I had the rump tenderloin which was delicious. They finish off each steak with a butter and I chose the lemon/brown butter, but found the lemon a little too much for the steak. No sides come with the entrees, but we really did not need them. We treated ourselves to their dessert of the day - plum sorbet over rose ice cream with tapioca. Simply delicious. Really recommend Bateau for a lovely dinner.

The steaks here are incredible, no doubt. But I found the tasting menu to be really really disappointing. I would NOT recommend the tasting menu. Just get steaks and sides for the best experience. If I had done so, this would have been a five star review. The hot dog tartine I genuinely disliked. Heavy and lacking anything bright. The risotto was similarly heavy and one note. The caramel on the beignets was super bitter and inedible. Overall the tasting menu really lacked flavor wise.

Loved the vibe and helpful service when it came to navigating the extensive steak menu. Nori butter on 182 day dry aged ribeye might be genius. Only criticism is that judging from the lackluster old fashioned, I’d say the cocktails are probably worth skipping here.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend and it did not disappoint! Right away your eyes go to the chalkboard menu which is equivalent to a “Steak Stock Market” where different cuts of beef are offered until they run out. Such a unique experience and I opted for the NY Strip which did not disappoint. Top that off with an amazing bottle of French wine and you have one of the best wine/steak experiences in Seattle. HIGHLY recommend for an intimate and immersive fine dining experience!

Delicious food, friendly staff and great service. Reservation required. They have a wide variety of options for different steak cuts, but with limited servings. I would suggest going for an early dinner, to avoid not getting your favourite beef cut, if that’s important to you. Yes, it is expensive but it’s worth the food you get here. Only street parking available. As for food: We ordered Beef Liver Mousse for appetisers. The bread and the dips was delicious - we even got a second serving of the bread because it was really that good. For main course we had, a 9oz 126 day aged prime tip(with bone marrow butter) and a 6oz 21 day aged tres mers(with lemon and brown butter), with mashed potatoes and nettles. The Tres mers was delicious with mashed potatoes. My friend did not enjoy the prime tip as much, more of a 3.5/5 taste. Their cocktails are good and strong. We had an old fashioned and a boulevardier. Both tasted great with the steaks.

Great service and really enjoyed the oysters and sides. Also outstanding ribeye! Steaks cooked perfectly. Unfortunately giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the concept of ordering steaks off the board means if you have a late reservation you’re really only left with the either extremely expensive or extremely weird cuts. We got a “ranch” steak, which was absolutely terrible. I’m genuinely surprised they would serve this to people. Want a 7oz filet or 12oz New York? Better not get there after 7pm. Overall, I would return here but only with a reservation very early in the night.

Unique steak experience with all cuts dry aged and only what’s available on the blackboard; once it’s crossed off, it’s gone for the day. Tried 3 different cuts which was nice. Hip cut sirloin was our favorite and Manhattan filet was also good. Oysters from the sister Bar Melusine was great and cocktail was very good. French croquettes were very unique take on french onion soup. Tartare was tasty but a bit salty. Service was very on point and attentive.
