Excellent food, and I mean excellent. Great ingredients, well prepared, good variety... Very helpful and courteous staff, and awesome drinks and beer on tap! Even some craft cocktails which is a plus. Big TVs, lots of space, nice window seats too. Was going to wait to write a review until I had a bad experience or two just in case, but it just hasn't happened.
Don't worry about the early reviews about service and the supposedly large menu. I've now ordered about half the menu so far and haven't had one problem with the food. Their staff seems to be getting settled and it feels like a homey, friendly, and fun place to go where the food is all good. I highly recommend it.
Oh, and the breakfast! Had that twice. Delicious both times.
Good breakfast. They made my bacon crispy even though I forgot to ask. ++++. Our server was great. We had a party of 10 and she did a hell of a job.
Just what we needed in W. Seattle. A place that serves breakfast! But they also serve a wide variety of your favorite comfort foods - like biscuits and gravy, nachos, prime rib, soups, sandwiches, burgers and homemade exotic ice cream (like mango and date-honey-almond). Good service, friendly staff, attentive owner.
My fiance and I found this place and we absolutely love it. We have been here 3 times in the past 3 weeks and definitely plan on returning. The owner Glenn and his wife are very nice and inviting and aim to please. The bartender Alex is awesome and very hospitable. The food is excellent and the drinks are great. Our first meals were the Cajun seafood fettuccine, the Roast turkey dinner and the WHISKEY BREAD PUDDING which is to die for. Everything is well seasoned and I didn't have to add anything which is rare in Seattle because so many restaurants are so bland, also everything is made FRESH and the bread comes fresh from MACRINA BAKERY every morning. There are large flat screen tvs all around which is great for sports lovers. I have absolutely no complaints about this place. It is exactly what West Seattle needed. They also have a great brunch and BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS for $12.95 which is the best deal in Seattle. One of the best eateries in Seattle.
This is my kinda place. Basic cholesterol-inducing American breakfast all day, in the Junction? Yes, please! Serves drinks (in a mellow way), but has enough space to also accommodate family dining? Yes, please! Friendly, welcoming staff? Yes!
They have other stuff too, but I'm here for the eggs'n'French Toast at 6pm or 2pm or 10am on a random Thursday.
(Here's hoping the curse if the Northeast corner of California & Edmunds doesn't bite them. The bright open windows should help...but nothing since Godfather's has lasted more than a year or so. I want this one to stay, so come eat!)
I just tried Great American for the first time and it was...well...great! My server was friendly and attentive, the Joe's Special scramble was really tasty, and the toasted buttery biscuit on the side hit the spot (I'm a southern boy and am particular about my biscuits, btw).

We had a terrific experience! Friendly and attentive staff, amazing food and reasonably priced. The owner is super nice as well and gave our daughter free ice cream before we left, treated her like a princess. Outstanding!
They are preparing for their grand opening. There are bumps with service, but delicious food and drinks for reasonable prices. Their happy hour prices and offerings are home runs. Quality, quantity and friendly service!
I ate here the other day for breakfast and it was an absolute treat. The place has a wonderful atmosphere to it. The breakfast menu has all the usual suspects along with a few surprises. I got the sampler and everything that came with it was delicious 🤤
It was nice that they allowed me to sub out my bacon for more sausage.
My waitress was Dottie she was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Her attentiveness was second to none also. You could tell she enjoys her job there. In fact so did the other waitresses Jasmine who was serving the other tables in that area.
I'll definitely have to come back for the lunch/dinner menu a few times it looked to have a few tantalizing dishes. I honestly can't wait to come back to this establishment and I give props to the management and owner for hiring a great team and providing an excellent experience through and through. First time coming here! What a great atmosphere! Very lovely, spacious, and lots of colors (decorations)😍. I ordered the Steak & Eggs and my husband ordered the Veggie Skillet dish with a side of French fries. My dish was delicious: comes with toasts, two eggs, potatoes, and the steak itself. Very very delicious 🤤. Great portions too. Very nice customer service. Definitely coming back here in the future. Highly recommended!!! :)
All the food was delicious - the bacon, especially! Great spot to grab breakfast by yourself or with a few people. Great service. Would definitely return to try something else on the menu.
Street parking is free for a couple hours, or there's a paid lot behind/across the street from the restaurant.

The menu is huge. Arguably too big with over 100 selections. But if you're feeling burgers, pasta, breakfast, and all the American staples in between this is Def a place for groups who all want something different. Our table got the fish and chips, a classic, and perfect but don't get the coleslaw. Also the Cajun seafood pasta. We were offered extra Cajun since it's not a true spicy dish but honestly the way it came out was so flavourful and perfect. No gripes from us, we will Def be back.
Excellent restaurant for breakfast, brunch or dinner the menu has options for everyone. Cozy place with great service and delicious food. There is also a bar with quite a few beverage options. Prices are reasonable.
Whole experience from beginning to end was amazing. My mom got the Cajun Seafood Fettuccine dish and I had the club sandwich & fries. Food was excellent and yummy. Service made sure my mom's dish was not too spicy; went out of her way to make sure we had a great visit. This place deserves to be packed with customers, we had a wonderful time and I'll be back again.
Always a great time at Great American Diner, our waitress was attentive and humorous! We ordered hot buffalo wings, Jalapeño Burger, Steak & Pancake. Love this place always for any kind of meal but when I crave All day breakfast this is my go to place. The quantity and quality is perfect! Couldn’t Recommend this diner enough!
I got the Cajun seafood fettuccine. Been here twice it was super good. And the employees are awesome, both servers both times I went were the sweetest, and there were 2 older gentlemen who acknowledged and checked on us even though they weren’t our servers. I live in Tacoma but will definitely be a returning customer
GREAT SERVICE and delicious food! The value is unapparelled. The portions match the price, and the food is delicious. The quesadilla is a nice appetizer to share, while the wings were everything we dreamed of and more. I can't wait to return for brunch.

Never had lu ch or dinner here, but every breakfast dish I have tried has been excellent. Recommend any of the skillets, as well as the corned beef hash. Service is a bit sloppy, but servers are friendly.

We love this place so much we went twice in the same month after driving almost 45 min. The food is always good and the Customer service is excellent. I will recommend it to anyone looking for the best anything on the menu like the fish and chips, pizza, wings and so more 💖💖
This diner is our bimonthly favorite, with classic American fresh food. Glen the proprietor, and his staff, are always aiming to please and are friendly, a welcome respite from the parking challenges on this block when it gets busy. Added bonus is the sport bar TVs to catch your favorite fall game on the weekends. Thanks for the consistent great service and food!
The atmosphere is nice, they had 80’s and 90’s music playing in the background, and staff was friendly.
I had the prime rib with vegetables and mashed potatoes was, all was delicious, but the vegetables were a bit over seasoned for my liking.
The battered fish was decent, and the fries that came with it was perfectly crunchy and airy.
Chicken quesadillas was good.
The spaghetti and meatballs were okay.
Overall, not bad for American dining. I will return.

A really fun place to go to. Nice ambient lighting and a nice warm atmosphere. They could keep the heat up a little bit more when it's cold, but all in all it is great. The service there is pretty good and the food there is absolutely delicious. The workers are nice and they like to help you out. I would highly recommend going here again. The food is not too expensive and they give you a large portion so you definitely do get a good bang for your buck. Totally worth going there. :)
This place is a gem. The variety of food available for delivery through apps is incredible. When you visit, it’s clean and well decorated. They are happy to see you. From breakfast to salads to burgers to pizza, their food can go toe to toe with all the “specialist” in the area. This is a West Seattle business worthy of continued support. ❤️❤️
Great family restaurant. The menu has so many options on it which was nice cause everyone was able to find something they liked. Portions were really good as was the prices and the quality of the food was amazing. Service was above average and came by often. We would definitely eat here again.
