Inside or outside dining are great options here. It’s chic, romantic, and the service was pretty fantastic.
Portion sizes are on the medium to smaller side but honestly pretty perfect if you want to try more things on the menu.
Produce was super fresh in all the dishes. Pastas were creamy, flavorful, and the texture was spot on.
Will return.
Definitely a gem in Ballard. Love the vibe, amazing food, and also the service!
They had very subtle but interesting and fantastic combination of spices almost on all the dishes I ordered. Olives go well with grounded dry rosemary. Fresh zucchini tastes so refreshing with lemon olive oil, flatbread was surprising with sweet shallot. Lastly, the risotto is very Tuscan style- spicy sausage with tender shrimp! All are so delicious.
The food was phenomenal. Worth every penny. The service was good. The booths were small. The place was almost too dim. It was extremely hot. The place was cramped. I feel like outside seating during the day would have changed the game. The pork chop was so good it almost made my boyfriend cry. The pasta was delicious. The salted Butter and bread, excellent.
You can get homemade pasta anywhere, but it isn't anything like the unique, dreamy dishes San Fermo rotates on their menu. The homey atmosphere of each room and personable staff is what sets San Fermo apart.
Try something you usually wouldn't, and don't forget the Burrata to start!
<23% service fee (not even 20%) auto added to the bill> It's listed on their website, and I clearly missed it.
Everything was great. Free bubbles for a special event and good food in a cozy upstairs attic setting. Nice cocktails, too! I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 as this is the first time ever I saw a 23% service fee already added to my bill. I've seen 20% max, but 23% is a first for me! We'd still go back.
San Fermo was a unique experience with fresh and delicious food. The restaurant is located in a house, and the atmosphere is very cozy. Everything was delicious. The pasta plates are on the smaller side, so make sure to order enough food given that they make you order everything up front, which is a bit odd. Service was very friendly.
The salad was very fresh, and the carbonara was delicious.
This place was highly recommended on several lists! So so happy with our experience here. Their specialized daily menu was small but mighty with something for everyone. In the antipasti section we got the Farinata — chickpea flatbread, which were EXCELLENT, and the farro salad. For the entree, we got the norma (eggplant pasta), which was so flavorful and fresh. For dessert we had the tiramisu, which was fantastic. Portion sizes for all the items are good for 2 people to share. 5/5 ⭐️
Went here for Seattle Restaurant Week and had such a wonderful experience! The service was impeccable, the dining atmosphere was intimate, and the food was delicious. Menu changes daily so what I had may be different from any one else may end up having!
The best dish we had tonight was the clam cavatelli. Sauce was extremely flavorful, just the right amount of spice. Pasta texture was also delicious.
Everything else was just on the solid to ok range. The chickpea flatbread we had was way too oily and dry. Our first attempt at the halibut was also the dryest and saltiest I've ever had at a restaurant. The waitress however was very kind and the kitchen switched it out for a better piece. Asparagus and salmon roe was solid, interesting combination.
I was pretty disappointed in the crab agnolotti. I expected a deeper flavor from a crab dish but it didn't meet the mark.
Really beautiful homey restaurant, and I love the open kitchen. Overall the food was solid, but not consistent enough for 5 stars.
Food, service, and ambiance was amazing. It was my first time and i’ll definitely come back!
The blood orange seasonal mocktail was also excellent 🍹.
It started from being seated to the delicious fast cocktails to the attention of the every single service staff member that at some point helped in delivering or clearing of the dishes. The fried eggplant dish, charred artichoke, caramelle, agnolotti, every dessert. I’d eat there again and again. I never wanted to leave. Great atmosphere, and service standards that I haven’t had since before the pandemic. I’d give San Fermo 10 stars if I could.

This place has been on my “Want to Go”Google list for a while, and turns out, it was on my husband’s as well! Everything was amazing! From the salads to the pasta to the house amaretto and rhubarb tort for dessert. It is a great balance of modern and classic Italian. It’s like your Nonna was trained at a Michelin starred restaurant and decided to open a place that was unpretentious but just as delicious and much more approachable.
One of those restaurants that you can’t wait to go back to you. Although there aren’t many vegetarian options listed under the main courses, just ask and they’ll happily make you a fresh customized option.
I’m a frequent visitor to San Fermo and tonight was one of best evenings I’ve had here. The food was delicious as per usual - the plates are thoroughly cleaned each time. I especially had to come by for the Swan House Kale Salad - it is just the most delicious combination of flavors that leave you refreshed and wanting more. Got two pastas which were also super yum. But the star of the night was our server, Shelby. He was so welcoming and just had the warmest energy. He made the night so special with his storytelling and generous gestures. He is a gift of a person and enough of a reason to come back for under meal in this wonderful little house.
Located in a cute little house in ballard but surprisingly larger when you walk in. Went as a group of 4 for mothers day with reservations. We ordered the eggplant with several pasta dishes. Parking can be difficult but there's a lot near by.
Lots of reasons to love this place, but it didn’t meet my pretty high expectations. Our server Julia was amazing and the ambience is perfect. We sat out on the patio with plants and lights around us and felt like we had enough room. That can be refreshing compared to some of the other Italian restaurants in the city that really smush you next to each other.
We shared a nice bottle of white wine, and got the buratta appetizer and the asparagus appetizer. Just to be aware, the asparagus dish is cold which we didn’t expect. The buratta was good, interestingly served with strawberries. Then the three pastas came out. I was pretty disappointed with the tomato based sauce on the rigatoni. It had no flavor and I even had to ask for some salt and pepper to make it flavorful at all. The Dungeness crab spaghetti also lacked flavor in the sauce although I was impressed by how much crab was in it. Lastly we got the Bolognese which was incredible. Everyone at the table loved it and I would recommend getting that as one of your entrées. Best part of the meal by far.
