The soup noodle is excellent as usual. Do not recommend the dipping noodle - the soup is super greasy, the noodle was quite hard to chew. I had asked them to cook the noodle softer, but it didn’t make much difference. The karaage chicken was excellent - crispy and juicy and tender.
The food was absolutely fabulous! While I have eaten in ramen houses for years, I am slightly unfamiliar with Hokkaido style ramen. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable and seemed genuinely interested in helping us understand the differences better and guided us through the menu. We decided on the Shyou flavor with pork belly with matcha afagato and mochi for afters. Will definitely go back!
The rain and cold made it a perfect day for the rich pork based ramen broth here. I ordered the kimchi Romain, which came with 2/2 of an egg, as well as a thick slice of pork, and generous servings of chopped Kimchi. Broth was wonderfully rich and spicy. It had that slight sheen of fat that makes broth so flavorful. Date had shoyu ramen. We also ordered a Hokkaido roll minus the cream cheese, and barley tea for two. We had to wait about 20 minutes but we’re seated comfortably and the restaurant was moderately quiet so we could hear each other talk.
We went here on Christmas Day because they are well rated and they were probably one of the only restaurants in the area to be open on the day. And I am so glad we did!
Ambience was great and the staff were nice.
Coming to food, we were pretty famished so we directly ordered entrees. I got myself a vegetarian ramen which had a creamy broth with Tofu, spring onions, ginger and mushrooms. It tasted good but had little to no spice. So if you are like me and like medium - hot in spice, remember to add some chilli oil/powder and the ramen is going to taste great! Also, regular portion size was on the large side for me, but it was so tasty.. I left an empty bowl :)
Nice food with affordable price, but I would ramen better than their rice bowl.
The rice bowl is a bit dry in my opinion, but the ramen itself is above average and I will definitely give it another try.
Overall, a recommended ramen place in university village!
I got the Miso Toroniku Ramen large. Overall a pretty decent bowl of ramen. Maybe a bit too salty, but other than that it was good. Idk if the meat is usually like this but the fat on the pork was pretty solid. I put all the pieces in the broth to heat up a bit and the fat got more tender and was better but not as much as I would have wanted.
One big pro was that they had secluded single seating which is very nice to get a fast seat.
Ramen is decent. Miso ramen broth was on point, not too heavy, the eggs were perfectly soft boiled, and the noodles were great. The chashu was disappointing though and very chewy.
Service and atmosphere is just okay.
Amazing. I got the kimchi ramen vegetarian style. The flavor was delicious. I love the soft boiled egg. The noodles were light and chewy but not too soft. The kimchi flavor was fresh and gave a good amount of spice. Even if you enjoy the regular ramen, I would suggest giving the vegetarian base a try as well!
I even ordered a side of rice at the end to get as much of the broth as possible.
The takoyaki was really great too, creamy inside texture with a nice crust on the outside.
If near University Village give this place a try.
So so good. As good as anything I’ve had in Vancouver. The regular size ramen, as people have said, is a little small/expensive. It’s in the heart of Bellevue so honestly it’s expected. Get the large and enjoy! Oh and they have a pretty good kids meal, too. The staff was amazing, very hard working. Turnover was pretty fast from what I could see. Definitely coming back next visit.
Prices are a little high than what I'm used to, but this place has of the best Tonkatsu curry I've had in a long time. Crispy breading, soft meat, and the sauce was delicious. The genmaicha Tea was nothing special and the server barely went to our table to check on us. Great food and place overall
This is a comfort food place for us, the service is quick and the serving size is largish for us so we generally get the small. We ordered the miso ramen and the toru niku with miso broth. This was our second time here, the pork cheek was a little tougher than last time but still delicious! We’ll be returning as it’s such a value for money meal with great flavours!
I got the pork cheek ramen with kara miso soup. The pork cheeks are soft, fatty and overall really good. Each portion had 6 slices so that was a lot. Definitely on the more expensive side for ramen, so I’m giving a 4 stars instead of 5.
It says Michelin Star, so we ordered Miso Ramen and upgraded it with Casiu Combo. We also order Hojicha Tea.
Overall, ramen was just okay I think there are better places out there but their Hojicha Tea was great!
BEST ramen I’ve had in awhile! The staff here is so friendly and accommodating. Came here on a busy Sunday afternoon, we were told it would be a 15 minute wait but that they would at least text us when the time was ready. Received a text only five minutes later so that was great! The restaurant itself has a great location (lots of shopping nearby) and a lot of menu options, not just ramen. The mochi ice cream birthday special plate was spectacular! Highly recommend!
When my group arrived there was a 80-110 minute wait, but it was definitely worth it for us. The menus were on the table as QR codes but the format of the online menu was easy to navigate and presented well. The food was great! They offer many flavors and sizes of ramen, and if your order doesn't come with something you want (say, an egg), you can always order it on the side so you'll have it! If you have less time, I suggest ordering to go. Highlights from this menu include the mazemen and the miso ramen.
My wife and I almost came here months ago but opted for a closer ramen shop; we should’ve come here! Our ramens were nice, flavorful, and a great price. Don’t skip on the chicken karaage either. Whatever they marinade it in is amazing. The service staff is very busy but continued to check in often. 5/5 would come again
My quest for a soul satisfying Vegetarian Ramen in Seattle ends here. Their Vege Ramen broth was so creamy and rich. Not much Umami flavor but that’s alright. The noodles have a little chew to them and delicious. My husband had the Negi Namban ramen and absolutely loved it. It has a nice kick to it. Service was also wonderful. We will be going back soon.
I tried the regular size Kara Miso ramen and it was very flavorful. Will definitely come back to try other broths!
The restaurant can improve on how they manage the wait list and seating the guests. While we were waiting, it felt like several tables were empty but it was taking time for the staff to communicate it to the guests.
