Decent place and good food. This is inside the building on the first floor with two more food places adjacent and a common seating around. Seems this place is here since the 90s. Owner was welcoming. I had the lamb and rice and it was delicious. The green tangy sauce that came along with it was my favorite. Next time I will ask for two more of those..
I worked in Downtown Seattle for many years, and had lunch at Cafe Zum Zum going back to the mid-1990's, I think. My favorite meal is the Mixed Vegetable Curry, which comes with rice. Even though I'm now retired, I recently stopped by at Cafe Zum Zum's "new" location Downtown in Century Square and had a great lunch. It was so nice the owner remembered me after an absence of several years (due to my retirement). You won't get that kind of service at a chain restaurant.
I used to eat lunch at least twice a week at Café Zum Zum when they were in the prior two locations. Since they moved to Century Square, I no longer work in downtown Seattle so I have not been able to eat there. They have the best Middle Eastern Pakistani food I’ve ever had. The curry is amazing, the lamb is unbeatable, I just wish I knew how to make it like he does. The owner is a wonderful friendly man. I wish we had a restaurant like that around here. I now live in Aberdeen I do want to say thank you for the years of service while I was in Seattle, and all the great lunches that I had at Cafe Zum Zum.
A great Indian |Pakistani place for lunch, usually there is a long line, sometimes even outside the restaurant.
Service was fast, I was able to look at the options & point at what I need & there were able to pour my curry / side of choice over some Indian spiced rice with chickpea on it.
I was actually craving for some Indian dal, & my colleague read my mind & took me here. I opted for some hot dal over rice, & managed to find a place to sit as well.
The dal was beautifully cooked with balanced spices, not too hot & not too bland. I must admit that it’s not the best, but maybe best among the rest in Seattle.
The spiced rice was good too, mimicking a Biriyani albeit a vegetarian one.
I am curious to try their meat options, sometime soon, before my Seattle trip ends, in a week.
This place is the best! All the curries are great, but they have a daily vegetarian special. I don't even ask what's on special, I just order it. It's always delicious.
My favorite downtown lunch spot for over a decade. This place operates at an elite tier of lunch restaurants that should be aspired to. Great food, great prices, they do a few things and do them very well, extremely efficiently.
Lamb combo. I picked 2 out of 3. Tasty!
Cafe Zum Zum is incredible! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is unbeatable. The owner is one of the most hospitable and kind humans. Fast, friendly, and healthy well-made food. I'll be going back as soon as possible.
For a quick meal this place is great. The food is tasty and the owner really appears to enjoy his work. They were located closer to my office before but worth the walk. I prefer to enter on 4th to avoid 3rd Ave.
It was excellent food. Like back home. Spices were perfect. Not to hot. Recommend to everyone visiting Seattle. We had lamb curry, spinach mix.
My favorite downtown curry place since 1999. So glad they are surviving the pandemic in their third move. They serve softly stewed vegetable, chicken, lamb curries and allow for splits so you can try two different ones. Can have it over rice or with a side of lettuce. Can eat in Century Square if you can find seating.
Tried the lamb curry, which is served with rice and bread. Excellent quality and the portion size is huge and enough for two. The spice is just the right amount to give taste without being too hot. I recommend the chefs to reduce portion size and add some salad.
I love Cafe Zum Zum! I work nearby and go a couple times a month, and the two very friendly men who work there remember me and are so nice! There's plenty of options, vegetarian options, and the prices are so fair, especially with the portion size! I can leave my leftovers at work and it'll make for two lunches. Can't recommend this place enough! There's also plenty of seating since it's inside the Century Square building.
Great cheap eat. The owner is very friendly. He gave me a sampler before I decided what to order!
Clean cooking area. Food is kept hot. Tried the spinach and chicken curry. While not the style I'm used to, it was very robust. The spinach shines more than the chicken. They also have vegetarian curry. Served with a rich grilled tortilla I also tried the naan bread. An overall warming meal. Clean friendly atmosphere. The banana pepper and roasted tomatoe mix adds a good kick.
This little food court place has better food than most Indian restaurants I have been to in Seattle (maybe because it's Pakistani, but I don't get in the middle of that argument, hehe). Well spiced, good portion, quick and friendly service.
Located in Century Square, so enter from either 4th or 3rd - follow "Market". Easy to find.
The owner was really friendly. The food was really amazing along with naan. Rice is also pretty delicious. Great food for affordable price.
The nicest people here. I've ordered for an office lunch a couple of times, everyone loves the food!! I think the food is a bit on the salty side but it's ok since I'm not eating it every day. I will keep supporting this great business!
Great counter serve place for takeaway, and good service. You get a big serving of rice, curry and tortilla, would recommend for take out
