I did not know what good falafel was until a friend took me here - now I will never be able to go back to other restaurants because Aviv is just so much better! Lemonada was a great minty lemon slushie and the cheeps (fries with taziki) were good too!
One of the best Mediterranean food I've had in the PNW area. Hearty and delicious. Bang for the buck type of place. Can't praise the soft pita bread enough. Both the sandwiches on the menu were equally good but personally liked the Sabich better. The shakshuka is another must try.
The pita here is so light and fluffy and delicious. I would come back again to have a pita. But they cost a couple dollars for extra which sucks.
I had a hummus plate and it was good, but definitely an interesting meal to have.
The falafels are worth the dollar and they were so moist and tasty.
The quality of food is definitely at a high bar. Love it, but wish the prices for pitas were cheaper.
Have been looking for good Mediterranean food in the area for a while and finally I found this place. The pita was so fresh, soft and fluffy.. I usually am not a fan of pita but this place is an exception. Their falafel hummus bowl was great, specially the falafel was fresh and the texture was apt. Haven't had better falafels. Overall the place is small but cute, has a nice vide and great service.
I’ve been in town for the last week or so, and today I have decided to try this gem of a place, I would like to say first and foremost that is somebody that grew up in Israel, this place is 100% AUTHENTIC ISRAELI FOOD, I had a big pleasure of meeting the owner Aviv, which was very friendly and kind, and so all of the restaurant staff, I have ordered a small plate of falafel, a small plate of hummus and a pita with sabich, the food was AMAZING, especially the Hummus and the falafel, along side, an ice, cold Goldstar (Israeli lager beer). So to all of my Israeli friends, who are visiting the area and have a little bit of homesick go visit Aviv it will definitely be worth it!
Living near 15th Ave, this place was on my radar for a while, and it did not disappoint.
Me and my dining partner ordered pita, falafel, hummus, chickpeas, and a couple other dipping sauces. The pita was soft and had good integrity. The falafel, while lacking bold flavor that would elevate the dish, still was tasty. The variety of flavors and textures between the hummus and other dippers made for a pleasant dinner.
This spot is definitely worth a revisit. My eyes are set on a sandwich or sabich.
I enjoyed this neighborhood cafe, the atmosphere feels light, bright, and colorful. The staff was very welcoming and I like that they pronounce the menu food items authentically. I ordered the hummus pitroit (hummus with sautéed mushrooms) and matbucha (roasted red peppers) and two pita. The portion size was enough for two people and my total was under $25. I like that their menu is a mix and match style and the pita is so light fluffy and warm. Highly recommend.
Chill restaurant with good service. Many different options for hummus and hummus related dishes. Easy to take out food if you don't finish.
One of my favorite places in Seattle. Such fresh amazing food. Everything on the menu is good and worth trying.
This place is delicious and I will definitely be back. Everything is fresh and so flavourful. They have table and bar seating and it is an open kitchen, so it's an extra bonus to be able to see how everything is made. I especially enjoyed watching the falafels being made. The hummus was delicious as was the lebneh. As I watched them make the hummus bowls, it made me sad I hadn't ordered one, but it will be on my list for next time.
A random day to try a new restaurant. And we stopped by this Hummus Bar at Capital Hill. I am not a fan of hummus but their foods are great. The Limonana tastes interesting like toothpaste, it is very mint.
This is my favorite place for Mediterranean food in the town. The flavors are fresh, strong and authentic. Lots of options for sides and substitutions. The pita is extremely soft and melts in the mouth. The falafel just melts in your mouth. Lots of vegetarian options
What a delight! Was planning to grab quick takeout and not expecting much. The place is so welcoming, hipster, and immaculate that we decided to eat in. The hummus is subtle and the falafel is outstanding, but the pita was the major surprise, soft, fluffy, and fresh. The Cauliflower and Eggplant side dishes are not to be missed .I will be back.
Very authentic Israeli food. The Knafeh and Malabi are a must try for dessert. The falafel pita wrap was exceptional - very soft and fluffy pita, along side the best falafels I have had. Highly recommend!
My order was pretty good. The hummus bowl with sautéed mushrooms (pitriot) was amazing! I added falafel and fried eggplant (hatzilim) and it was the perfect meal. The pitas are fresh and fluffy, not tough or dry. The only thing that didn't agree with me was the sababadanoosh which is babaganoosh mixed with mayonnaise. I did not care for it and wish they had regular babaganoosh.
Absolutely delicious food. Very cool ambiente inside the restaurant.
This is the place to go if you want authentic Israeli. The Hummus takes two days to make, so be careful! If they run out, they're out for a bit. However, it is worth it to go.
I've been to other "Mediterranean" places in Seattle, and most of the time their pita bread is flaky and dry, and the Hummus too dry and bland. Not this place. Here, the pita bread is fluffy and wonderful. The Hummus flavorful in so many ways.
If you want the real deal, go here. You might have to endure the hipster fascination with it, but ignore them and enjoy one of the best Seattle eats out there.
I am glad Aviv Hummus Bar survived the pandemic. I had visited this small shop front location several years back when it opened. It still continues to be a great place for Hummus in Seattle. The menu has many options with Hummus and falafel. The Hummus is fresh, creamy smooth and the pita fluffy and soft. I would certainly go there again, and again, and again. A very healthy, tasteful meal.
And the staff is SUPER!
