Noren is a fun spot for a variety of food and drinks. They have a great selection of traditional rolls, sashimi, appetizers and more innovative/fun rolls to wet the appetite. Drinks are tasty, and the hot sake never disappoints. Service here is fast, you never have to wait long for the rolls to start hitting the table. I would say Noren is great for friends and family, and shared meals in general, but would also make a great casual date night.
This place opens late which is nice given many restaurants nearby close their doors after 8pm.
We came to this place with friends around 8:30pm after my class. I ordered the fried pork rice bowl (Tonkotsu don) which I think it was well made and delicious. My friend didn’t like her salmon poke bowl citing the salmon was not super fresh.
The service was quite slow but the waitress apologized and appreciated our patience.
I think this place is not bad and it opens late. Not the best Japanese restaurant but pretty descent.
It's a great Japanese restaurant in the heart of Capitol Hill.
The menu has a good selection, with good vegan options as well.
The atmosphere is casual, and the place is well decorated with Japanese umbrellas hanging on the ceiling and lots of Japanese pictures on the walls.
The service is great and the prices are good for a Japanese restaurant in Capitol Hill.
The tuna taste fresh, I can taste the gochugaru in spicy tuna roll
Wabi sabi is unique, since I got take out the fried nori was a little soft, if you are dining in definitely order the wabi sabi
Fatty tuna is wet, thick and tender
Salmon so creamy. It was delicious
This is my favorite sushi restaurant in town. Their fishes are so fresh and service is always friendly. Highly recommend their garlic edamame because you don’t always see this in any sushi place. Their nigiri are so fresh and the rice to fish ratio is just perfect. We have tried salmon, seared salmon, sweet shrimp and fatty tuna nigiri and they all taste delicious. Noren and Wabi sabi rolls are pretty good as well. They offer a good selection of sakes and our favorite was the Homare Yuzu.
Came in for a sushi craving in the middle of the week. Service is great, especially these day as service seems to have dropped in most places. The ambiance is a nice with Japanese inspired decor giving a warm feeling. Sushi was fresh and tasty and they had a delicious salmon kama. The house salad was large with a whole avocado 🥑, yum! 😋
Came here for a birthday celebration. The owner and staff were extremely helpful in creating an atmosphere full of joy. Their dishes are pretty and yummy. I like their ramen which tastes clean, not so greasy. We also tried salmon tower and different rolls. All are great. We definitely will come back again.
Incredible upscale sushi place. Maybe some of the best sushi I have ever had. High priced but also high quality. I will definitely come back. I'm excited to try the udon and other items on the menu.
Very beautifully plated. Delicious fresh sushi! We also got baos and gyōza. Yummy. Service was slow but they were packed which is a good sign. Right down the street from Starbucks Reserve Roastery so good for sight seeing/ visitors to capitol Hill!
Delicious Japanese food, authentic and good portions. The tempura soba was cooked well , crunchy and chewy. Ramen was tasty (a bit on the salty side). Fried rice was delicious, too.
10/10 place!
Chef Joon was amazing.
Great atmosphere and great food. Price waa justified as well.
Highly Recommend. Service was efficient, smooth, & comforting. I enjoyed the Makiri Sake and 2 rolls.
This place serves very nice, fresh sushi in a beautiful and calming atmosphere. Went here with my lovely wife Brenda. I got the lemon salmon roll and it was refreshing, reminiscent of the sushi we get back home in Berkeley. Go niners! Brenda got the firecracker which was also tasty and had a fun texture from the crispy potato. All in all this is a great spot for a date or nice dinner. We came here twice this weekend!
Very beautiful decorations. Definitely encourages the eyes to feast with the body. We got the salmon kama, lemon salmon roll (with no mayo but have mayo on the side), and a sashimi salad. All the dishes were delicious. Definitely one of the best salmon kama I have ever had. Can't wait to come back to try their other dishes.
Added a picture of the Rainbow and Volcano roll. Still as delicious as the first few times.
Very unassuming on the outside but great food and service. This was our second time
here.
Today, we did the omakase for $100 pp. They were very accommodating since we had an infant and let us do it at our table vs at the sushi bar.
Joon the sushi chef was so nice and made sure we were stuffed! It was 8 courses. Mandy our waitress was very attentive. Our food was great and service even better.
Great sushi place. We went with a party of 8 on the weekend and were able to get a table really quickly. Our server was very patient, friendly, and informative with very helpful suggestions. Avocado Bomb appetizers were our favorite thing. Volcano roll comes with fire in a little dish, pretty cool but also probably not recommended with little kids around. Firecracker roll and spicy tuna rolls are very spicy which we liked but maybe not for those sensitive to spicy food. Will come back here for sure.
