What a great place! We will definitely be back, despite it being a bit pricey & a drive for us. The place was wall to wall packed. So glad we had reservations. Amanda, our server, kept a very fast pace. She did a good job.

We had pecan grouper & coconut snapper. They were both awesome. Would've enjoyed a little rice with the snapper, but the veggie mix was really good. The mashed potatoes & spinach was awesome with the grouper. Had the banana rum cheesecake. Perfect!

Wish they served Mount Gay rum or a good amber ale, but the food more than made up for that.

The special was chicken piccata with a crab cake/lemon butter sauce with capers. It came with mashed potatoes mixed with spinach. 8/10. I also tried the pumpkin bisque which was pretty unique. 9/10. Hubby ordered jerk stuffed chicken breast(mushroom and spinach). It came rice and beans and a slaw. 8/10. The food came out quick, hot and delicious. Surprising on this strip of US1 in the land of bar fried food. Definitely will be back to try different items on the menu.

Best restaurant in Sebastian! The jerk sauce is on point! Best jerk wings I've tasted. Chicken curry is excellent too. I haven't had a bad meal yet. I ALWAYs recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Mo-Bay is a refreshing take on Jamaican food. The building is small, but packed to the brim with regulars. Service was fast and friendly, recommending the jerk chicken and curry chicken. I ordered a Jamaican Beef Patty (one of my favorite snacks/lunches) and a jerk chicken sandwich. The beef patty was fresh made and had that savory and spicy flavor I love. The jerk chicken sandwich was not really spicy as I had expected, but made up for it with its own unique flavor. More of a sweet jerk.

TL;DR: Excellent food, fast service. Will come back next time I'm in Sebastian.

Pretty dog gone good. Visited Mo Bay tonight after reading reviews of the place. We both had Grouper sandwiches. His broiled, mine grilled with seasoning. Can't say the seasoning was overwhelming, but just a nice piece of grouper. Served with a grilled onion which was a nice addition. But, I wanted to lick the bowl of the cucumbers.....wonderful dressing on them. Could pick out the dill, vinegar and sugar......just could figure out the creaminess (thinking maybe yogurt)....really yummy. The price was just about the same as the pizza we had on Sunday night......but the service was 10 times better. Will return for sure.

Prices must have gone up. Urban spoon has this listed as $10-20 but it's more.like $20-30. Check the latest menu before you go...

Treasure of the Treasure Coast. Fabulous food, good value, courteous friendly service. This is your basic mom/pop strip mall Jamaican foodery. IMHO, this place was the best dining experience during my stay in the area. The spinach/crab appetizer is a must. Other menu items that my party ordered included the seafood paella, coconut shrimp, shrimp kebabs, and cheese fries. The seafood paella was wonderful and fresh. Seasoned just right. the coconut shrimp were crispy and delicious, and the kebabs were very good as well. They came with a really tasty coconut grit cake which was oh so good. The cheese fries catered to one of our children and came out with lots of cheese. She loved it. The guy in the kitchen here knows what he is doing. A real artist. Don't visit the area without trying this place.

Best food I ever ate!. My wife and I went on vacation in Sebastian for the second year in a row at the end of June, 2010. We just discovered Mo-Bay Grill this year. We wish we had discovered it last year! We live in Columbus, OH and have had our share of experiences with the wide range of restaurants that a big city has to offer. After eating at Mo-bay 4 of the 7 evenings of our vacation (and 2 breakfasts), we both agree that it is the best food we've ever tasted. In a big city, you would pay double and triple for the quality and quantity of food you receive here. The head chef, Wesley, takes pride in his work and it shows as every entrée tastes as good as it looks. He even came out to chat with us each time and make sure everything was satisfactory with our meals.

Though Mo-bay is listed as a Jamaican restaurant, the menu has a wide range of foods in addition to the several Jamaican dishes. I will give you a review of each of the dishes that I tried. The first night, I ordered the Chicken Run Down which has this incredible coconut based sauce/marinade. Wow, 5 out of 5! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was unique and a perfect taste with the chicken. The second night, I ordered the Peppercorn Strip Steak. Again, 5 out of 5! Not only do you get a nice sized tender steak, but the peppercorn sauce/gravy/marinade is also unique and incredible! The third night, I tried the Apple Glazed Pork Chops. Now, I've had plenty of pork chops in my life - never been anything special. So I figured, OK, let's see what he can do with pork chops. WOW! 5/5! This might have been my favorite meal of the week! He somehow cooked the chops perfectly so they were not tough, but tender and tasty. The chops themselves had great flavor, and the addition of the apple glaze and actual chopped apples just put it over the top. So good! The final dinner we ate there, I wanted to try the Philly Cheese-steak Sandwich. Best Philly Cheese-steak I ever had! No, I'm not kidding. You've never had a gourmet cheese-steak until you've had this one. 5/5! I ordered it with steak-fries and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad, itself, was just awesome! Other side dishes that I had throughout the week, which were as exceptional as the main dish, included garlic mashed potatoes and this shredded vegetable side that was, well, exceptional!

My wife and I also got the Fried Plantains appetizer a couple times. Never had fried plantains, but loved this! It is a must try! Speaking of my wife, she tried a couple of the seafood dishes which I'm sure she'll mention in her review.

Finally, as far as the food is concerned, I saved the best for last. You must go there for breakfast and order the Pumpkin Pancakes. "Wow" simply does not describe what I need to say here. BEST pancakes I've ever had. Got them twice! I actually ate the first one without any syrup, it was so good!

Oh! And I cannot forget the dessert! I tried the Banana Rum Cheesecake - so good! I might even say the best cheesecake I've ever had!

As for the service - 5/5! The waiter and waitress that we had throughout the week both were very personable, friendly, and helpful. And I've already mentioned that the head chef/owner, Wesley, came out and chatted with us each night. Very friendly gentleman and obviously an incredible cook.

The value, I've already mentioned. You would easily pay double or triple in a big city for what you get here, and I guarantee the food would not be as good.

The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed, yet it is a fine dining experience. The music and decor is Jamaican and the staff is the friendliest you will find.

Overall, you cannot visit Sebastian without going here at least twice while there. That way you can try at least 2 of the entrees. And don't forget breakfast! My wife and I wished we had a longer vacation so we could continue to try different dishes there. And if we had even more time, I would have gotten everything a second time. I cannot recommend Mo-bay Grill enough!

Everything was delicious. I brought my family here when they visited. Everyone loved their dinner. I had the rum jerk shrimp kabobs, and they served it on this coconut grit cake that was to die for! Daughter got angel hair pasta in coconut sauce, and my other daughter had the jerk chicken pasta. Loved their tropical green tea too.

Very interesting, unique experience. If you like good old southern iced tea, you won't find it here. They serve Tropical Green Iced Tea. Interesting drink but I would have liked to know before they serve it. The food was pretty good.

We had our best meal in Sebastian at Mo-Bay Grill. We are the local newspaper and even our food critics believe nothing else compares to Mo-Bay because of their unique Jamaican cuisine. We've had seafood, conch fritters, Crab Cake sandwich, Monte Cristo, and their Jamaican style entrees with jerk chicken are excellent. For soups, try their Louisiana Seafood or Lobster Bisque! They have a dessert called Banama Rum Cheesecake. We think it's the best dessert in Sebastian. You gotta try it.

My family and I ate here tonight while visiting in nearby Vero Beach. We looked up gluten free restaurants for myself and mother and were pleased with how many choices there were. Dinner did not disappoint! I had the brown stew chicken which was something I have never eaten. It was beyond delicious! The portion was excellent - a half chicken covered in flavorful gravy and accompanied by perfectly cooked veggies and rice and beans. The chicken was so tender and I ate every bite! My family also enjoyed their paella, jerk chicken, and jerk ribs. We are only in town a few days and are talking about coming back to try more of the menu! Cannot recommended enough, especially if you love flavor and are gluten free.

Lovely Valentine's Day dinner at MBG. Conch fritters to start, followed by skewered cobia with garlic mashed potatoes for my wife and rum jerk shrimp kabobs for me. A saxophonist provided music to accompany our meal. Excellent food, great cocktails, music...what's not to like?

Excellent tasting food. The oxtails were small and boney, but food was good as well as the staff! We will definitely be coming back!
