Not bad. The food is great. Nice place to eat and visit with family and friends. ecpesialy the outside deck.

Buena comida, buen ambiente, buen precio. Our dinner at Marimba's the other night was unplanned. We were talking about another restaurant as we passed Marimba's and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is well back from the highway up a little hill, shaded by trees and has a rather inviting appearance as you go by. They have a large inside dining room and a very large shaded deck area. We sat outside and were pleasantly surprised when the "live music" arrived and began setting up on the deck. We found service to be very slow (thirty minute wait for appetizers) but the whole staff was very friendly. We weren't in a hurry and drinks came much faster than the food so it wasn't a problem. The food quality could best be described as above average Mexican. Prices seemed to be about average for Mexican restaurants in the area. So overall, if you add a nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonable prices, I think you get a pretty good value at Marimba's.
A family friend suggested this place as the best Mexican restaurant in Shelbyville, KY. There are MANY to choose from so I took her suggestion and do not need to look any further. Turns out first time is the charm with this one. Man! I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised I was with Marimba. The food was so hot and fresh. Their flavors are fantastic. I made a combo with a chicken and a beef burrito and a beef taco, which I ate every bit of. Absolutely delicious; but! I was a little jealous of my wife’s plate of perfectly seasoned carnita chunks. We have also visited their buffet they have on Friday’s and sundays and loved being able to sample other flavors they have. Marimbas is our go to Mexican restaurant from now on. It’s just fresh and fabulous.
Lots of very good quality food and very inexpensive. Service was amazing and the drinks were also excellent. Had enough to take home for 2 additional days. The outside was nice and our server was amazing. The salsa was good (get the hot) and just a great Friday evening. I will be back in October when I visit Shelbyville again!
Ok I don't know who opened this restaurant but who ever you are thank you. Some of the best Mexican food in Shelbyville. The quality and service has always been amazing.
I hadn't been here in many years. The husband suggested it last weekend & oh my goodness!! It was great!! We both had the buffet. Great food. Great service.
Love this place! I haven't had any bad food here. The chicken and rice is delish. I always get tamales and rice and beans. Plus they're Texas margarita is on point. Definitely recommend.
Always great food, great people & great service. Relaxing atmosphere especially on the patio. Margaritas are always good & live music on Tuesdays!
Our carnitas were fantastic. I really like when they come in big chunks vs shredded. They were juicy and fork-tender. Our server was attentive, too!
