Good food. . .bao were delish. . .customer service could have been better, but during my stay in DC/Silver Springs I realized that the entire area could use a couple of courses in customer service. . . The cashier didn't know what type of sauces he served us. . .and didn't attempt to find out what they were either. . . Just kept telling me he didn't know. . . There is a bar next door Scion I believe. . .the host there was unbothered . . . Bring a picture of your grandmother to put on their wall

Definitely one of my favorite dumpling places. Try the year of the ox, I don't particularly care for the noodles here.

Service and food were both fantastic. Dumplings (beef and pork) are flavorful and authentic. Noodles had great texture. Store is small but clean! Would definitely recommend!

Dumpling and dipping sauce were good, nice flavor. The bao's are fun and unique. I found the menu refreshing compared to most American Asian food. The table was a little sticky, but overall the experience was good. Prices were okay.

I ordered the drunken noodles and an array of pot stickers. I have to say the noodle bowl was simply excellent, a tasteful mixing of flavors served over hand rolled noodles. The potstickers on the other hand were average, nothing special. I would certainly go back for a noodle bowl!

Even if my own grandmother were still alive, and she made/sold dumplings and noodle dishes out of her kitchen, I'd still regularly visit NaiNai's Noodle & Dumpling Bar on East-West Hwy in Silver Spring. Seriously though, this place has quickly become one of our neighbourhood gems, consistently offering quick and cheerful service, of delicious dumplings of varied choices (creatively named after zodiac years), "street food-style" small plates, noodle bowls, and baos (steamed buns) served in an inventive asian-latin-fusion presentation, i.e., taco/wrap style, instead of with ingredients stuffed inside the bun). Make sure to try their spicy "sriracha mayo" with your bao! We were intrigued when this smaller sibling (...scion..?!) of larger, next-door restaurant/bar also-a-personal-fave Scion (in turn, an offshoot/scion of the Scion in Dupont Circle) opened last year, and we have not been disappointed since. LOVE the cultural diversity of this restaurant family that shines through in the fusion cuisine of their menus, and even in their choice of restaurant ventures. LOVE every last detail of the decour from the Chinese tabloids-printed table tops, to the retro metal chairs. Very much appreciated the DVD movie playing for entertainment while you wait for your pickup order (tonight it was Guardians of the Galaxy. Heavenly.) P.S. Also recently featured in Washingtonian mag's "7 Must-Try Chinese Restaurants in Washington"!!

The food was great! The best hand rolled noodles I've ever had. The wait was pretty long for a take out order but it was worth the good food.

I love the sesame pearls. They're a bit small but they give you five for $3.75 so it's not too bad. Thou shall not bao is my current favorite.

Noodles, dumplings, and baos. Everything is good, but the restaurant is opened inconsistently at lunch and they run out of dishes frequently, especially the excellent fried chicken bao.
