It's not a train station any longer but the Times restaurant is a great place to wait. The train stops but there's no attendant or facilities aside from the restaurant. Cool old building. Took a minute to figure this all out so I thought I would share! It's old school so don't expect service just a good old fashion train stop. The sign is literally the only presence Amtrak has here. The restaurant faces Front street and the train stops in the back. Grab a beer and some chili before you move on ❤️
The Pavillion was absolutely nice our family raved on how nice it was and wanted to know how they could rent the space
We all enjoyed the day at the park
The Honey Moon Train Ride
Got married hustled out of the Church speed our way an hour to the train station praying to let to God know he's still with us after the ceremony and asking for safe journey with no tickets along the way. Get to the station right outside The Big Easy (for non who dat fans I mean New Orleans) hushing we have 10 minutes till that chariot awaits to take me and my new beautiful bride to Chi Town (Chicago) to spend a few days in few days in the snow because my bride had never seen snow , so why Chicago well snow was good reason but we had never took a train before and it was our honeymoon soon didn't really want to drive (1 hour drive and I was ready for honeymoon to begin), couldn't have started celebrating honeymoon on plane that fast (well maybe) loll , SO TRAIN IT IS, ride was great , however we spent most of ride in cabin celebrating 💒 honeymoon, but ride back was easy way to travel , great food and service, we are thinking about doing it again next year just because it was such a fun easy way to travel. However guys I would definitely check with your bride to because I have checked the website out since then and their are some awesome locations that you will still get that fast start to honeymoon benefit still.
Thanks for a great Honeymoon night probably see you real soon

Btw we are still together so it must have worked
The Slidell Station was a great location to begin our train adventure. The station was clean and had a fun old train vibe to it. We were concerned about parking at the station for a week, but there were no problems when we returned. (The police station is located just a few blocks away.)
