Nice atmosphere. Delicious garlic knots that are swimming in fresh garlic and butter. Good portion size on the salad. The Alfredo sauce is bland and needs less flour and more cheese. The meat sauce needs more garlic and salt. My friend and I ended up pouring the garlic butter from the garlic knots onto our food to give it more flavor. The service was professional and attentive.

I have been wanting good Italian food and my appetite was satisfied. I liked the food, atmosphere, and service. They have the best turimisu I have had in my life! I almost overdosed on the garlic knots. I had the horn stuffed with lobster, shrimp, and scallops. My daughter had the chicken and broccoli Alfredo. We will be back!

Scalini's, along with its sister restaurant, Provino's, continues to impress me, my daughter, my ex, and my best friend. They do Chicken Parmesan (my favorite dish) better than almost anyone else. Their lasagna is divine and cheesy. Every dish there doesn't taste like every other dish. They actually have some differences in seasoning. And things are seasoned well. Anyone who's seen their garlic rolls knows they don't hold back on garlic, and that's true of most seasonings there.
If I could change one thing it would be to not have the garlic rolls sitting in a small vat of butter. The top rolls are always great, but the ones that sit partially submerged in butter end up cold and soggy. Still, the top ones are so good and so garlicky I can't be too mad at them for it.
They have an unusual salad (includes beets and garbanzo beans), and it's served "family style". It's flavorful, though. It comes in a wonderful Italian or vinaigrette dressing with a good assortment of veggies, plenty of cheese, some fungi, and I believe Greek olives (plenty of olives, unlike some of the more well-known national Italian food chains).
I've been going to Scalini's and their sister restaurant for years ever since finding them after moving to Marietta 12 years ago. Once in a while I'll try a different Italian restaurant depending on where I am, but most of the time I end up regretting not just eating here instead. So good!

It's good Italian food. I always know what to expect. Good food and good service. Also bring your dates here. Only reason it gets 4 starts is on my latest visit the sauce was a little watery, but that had never been an issue before. Hopefully it was an isolated case because this place has good tasting food.

Loved it !! Loved it!! I like Italian food, but this place, service and food made me fall in love with the place. The decor is very romantic and beautiful. Service is very nice and friendly. People smile. The dishes are done so well. Pasta is amazingly delicious. Must must try the vegetarian lasagna.

Very nice take out. Shrimp with Angel hair pasta is delicious. Recommended.

I have been enjoying Scalini's for decades. Great Italian food. Great birthday deals!

My favorite in Italian. Local, established and decently priced. Soup and salads are staple favorites here and the entrees are delicious and there's menu options for everyone in the family.

Great and friendly staff. Food was very good. Definitely tasted home cooked. (I come from an Italian family) I would definitely eat here again.

We waited one hour and 45 minutes for waitress to stop socializing. Its simple poor management of employees. Manager offered to box up over an hour old cold food for us. Last time. Sooner or later this place will join the others and close down. I will look forward to that and applaud the day. Such a shame that it turned out like this. We used to frequent this place every couple of weeks for years and for it to have a downturn such as this. We will take our business elsewhere.

Not impressed. The reviews posted were misleading in my opinion. The salad was delicious and my favorite part of the meal. The bread was okay, a little too garlicky for my liking. I ordered the combo meal that consisted of chicken, shrimp, and veal Francese with penne & meat sauce as my side. The protein was very bland, the lemon butter wine sauce was also bland. The pasta was cooked perfectly, however the meat sauce tasted like a traditional restaurant marinara... nothing special. I was disappointed to say the least. Perhaps my expectations were high per the reviews on Zomato,

On the restaurant and food itself - if you're familiar with the Provino's restaurants around Gwinnett, this is essentially the exact same thing. Similar looking sign out front, similar decor, same looking menu and items, same food. There is a Provino's 5 minutes from our house so had we known it was the same thing, I'm not sure we would have gone. Provino's doesn't have a baby club or famous labor eggplant, so unless I really think the eggplant induces labor by itself, the extra drive was for novelty purposes.

Good Italian and at the Right Price. I had the Red Snapper Francese but I would not recommend it - it was good, but their traditional pasta dishes, chicken and veal dishes are better. And the prices are very, very reasonable for what you get. The place has been around a long time, and there is good reason - the food is exceptional.

Great food! Mussels were cooked perfectly and great flavor. Service was ok. Need better salad and offer fresh Parmesan with meal vs pizza joint glass jar Parmesan. Other than that very pleased.

Atlanta Italian. Back in the 80's this place had the best rolls floating in garlic butter in the world..... Spagetti had unforgettable marinara and desserts were tops......great meeting place for blue chip corporate dinners. Lot's of celeb pics on the walls like Cher, etc.

Unforgettable.....

Sentimental, folks-y Italian. Scalini's, long-time local favorite, has the Italian dishes you loved eating growing up, done well and done the way you probably remember. Nothing fancy at all about this place. There's lots of red sauce, melted mozerella cheese and garlic rolls to go around at this family-friendly restaurant. And by the way, the garlic rolls are unlike anything you have seen or tasted before. A simply dressed salad comes out with the rolls at the start of your meal, but don't fill up on the starters. The portions are big and the food here is good, but the rolls are worth coming back for! The lasagna is a stand out, too.

Always Good!!! We eat her.... Always Good!!!

We eat here often and I've never been disappointed. It's not close to home, but certainly worth the drive. The house salad (comes with your meal) is to die for. The calamari is superb... We always have this as an appetizer... Our first choice for dinner is their egg plant. Superb!!! It's always difficult to decide between this restaurant or Frankie's on Roswell Road, as both are EXCELLENT!!!

Good options for Vegetarians. There are places where I can manage to eat, some places where I can rave about, and then there are places where its in the middle. I would say Scalini's would come in the category where its surpasses the low end by miles but doesn't really reach the peak.
Service is good and make you welcome. But sometimes you wonder if it has turned too mechanical, too methodical. I mean things cant change from good to otherwise every 15 minutes, or is it just the norm to ask the obvious ?
Rolls were soft, hot and as good as they can be, cant complain about the salad as well. I had eggplant parmigiana and I must say I have eaten finer varieties/renditions of this at places less known than this. It was mountains of Marinara, which was certainly tasty, and Parmesan cheese engulfing eggplant.
Wine selection is adequate.
Desert was big letdown. I had ordered Tiramisu and I must say i was surprised with the way it was presented and how it tasted.
All in all, decent Vegetarian friendly restaurant.

Wonderful meal. The garlic bread and salad was fantastic. We enjoyed fried calamari, and it was some of the best I have ever had. Everyone at our table ordered different entrees and all raved about their selections. I had Shrimp Scampi and it was fantastic---way too big a serving for one person!

Suggest you try this one if you are in Atlanta!

The food here is wonderful. The kids loved their meals and the shrimp cristo was awesome. The service was excellent and very kid friendly. We loved it! We will be back again and again!! Thank you, Scalini's.

Cioppino is amazing!

No matter what you order, it's always good as is the service! Love this place!!!

Family history!. I have been going to this restaurant since I was born, my parents had their wedding rehersal dinner here. The staff is always so helpful and kind. The best things are the bread, salad and the red snapper.
Recomend.

No Return Visit. Hubby, our 4 yr old n I went here on Fri 9/24. Service was great. Food was not good. Very bland. Had to add a lot of S/P in order to swallow food. I don't like adding salt to food since it has a lot of sodium in the 1st place. But, we had too. No, this restaurant will not get a return visit from us. The food was not good at all (in case you didn't see it in my 3rd sentence). You have been warned. Try at your own risk.

Below average Italian - I tried this place for the first time and it tastes like crappy Italian food to me. The ingredients are basic and the quality of the meats and seafood are not good.
Jonathan
Always reliable for great Italian food at a good price. The atmosphere is wonderful, dark and intimate. The salad and garlic rolls have been favorites through the years.
Ross Winterbauer
I enjoyed eating there. Good food and quick service, with garlic bread and salad as appetizers. I was full when I left.

It's cozy in here. Smells get your appetite ramped up. Certainly you get many of the usual suspects you expect on an Italian menu. Chicken, veal, Eggplant and yes pasta. Artichoke hearts are generically good. Calamari crisp and not too oily or tough.

It’s been in the corner of this shopping center since 1980 and besides expanding, the decor has been the same as long as we can remember. So has the menu and the endless salad and garlic rolls, which never change.
