I went with a group of four. We shared a rack of ribs & each got a sandwich & sides. The ribs were dry rub smoked. So tender and delicious. I got a fatty brisket sandwich and it was divine! Super juicy & flavorful. They have sauces on the table, but this sandwich didn't need sauce. My boyfriend got the Bahn mi sandwich with pulled pork instead of brisket. We shared half of our sandwiches bc we love good food & each other. The two others in our party got pulled chicken sandwiches. My son, who is a picky eater, ate his whole sandwich & most of a quart of mac N cheese. I did not taste the mac N cheese, but he loved it. It looked really creamy & smelled so good. Next time we go back I would like to try it. Also I would like to try the potato salad. We had the beans & they were the best Texas beans I have ever had. They had big chunks of lean brisket in them. We had a quart of Cole slaw as well. It was really good. And I take my slaw seriously. It was crisp & wet & heavenly. We also had some kind of tacos that were on the daily menu & they were delectable. We did have a lot of left overs, but we really wanted to try a little bit of everything. I definitely will return. They also have a spacious side patio that would be great for nicer weather. I especially enjoyed the live music. Service was great. Good crowd. I support family owned businesses.

Went here for the first time tonight. What a treat! First, the customer service was most excellent! Fast and friendly!! Second, the food was out of this world! Third, super affordable! Oh, and the portion sizes? Holy cow! The amount of deliciousness you get for the price? Unbelievable!!!
The wife and I had Ribs, Cole Slaw, Mac & Cheese, and corn bread! Everything was absolutely amazing! Genuinely could not believe how good everything was! Then for dessert the wife had cobbler and I had the banana pudding....OMG... INCREDIBLE!!!
Highly, highly recommend this place! We will be coming back!!! If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not be disappointed!!
Pretty good straight up bbq! Tried the brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken and all three hit the mark. With a warm hometown atmosphere and friendly staff, the service was great. I left with a full belly and to-go boxes for a great price. I strongly recommend this place!
We finally tried Maverick yesterday and we were very happy with the service and food. I love Mission BBQ, but not their cornbread or jalapeno cheddar sausage- I LOVED both at this place! We also had pulled pork, brisket, ribs and the baked beans with brisket. My only suggestion is to work on the cole slaw a bit, but cole slaw is always an afterthought for me anyway :) I cannot remember our server’s name, but he was very attentive and cared about our experience. Thanks for a great dinner, we will definitely be regulars!
I have not one single complaint. This was the BEST BBQ we have ever had and we eat ALOT of BBQ. We recently visited a diners, drive in and dives BBQ spot in GA... their food had NOTHING on this food. We tried almost everything the menu.... the only thing I wasn't a huge fan of, was the Mac & cheese...everything else was amazing. We had brisket, ribs, jalapeno cheddar sausage, corn bread, prime rib, baked beans, mac n cheese. Cole slaw, potato salad, gumbo, carnitas, and a Bahn Mi sandwich! I promise you if you go here, you will not regret it. I gave all my compliments to the chef, he could not have done it ANY better. We plan to make this a weekend stop and may be back tomorrow! Thank you SO much for such a great local small business NON chain food spot!!!!!
We finally got around to checking this place out. Normally, we will order a bunch of different items from the menu and sample a wide array of food to figure out if a restaurant is worth a return or not. I can say without a doubt that Maverick Texas BBQ is ABSOLUTELY worth a return. The Carnitas Tacos were flavorful accompanied by a delightful, unique slaw. The baked beans and Mac n Cheese were perfect. However the two stars of the show were the Brisket Bahn Mi and the Tipsy Texan sandwiches. The meats were lean, but tender. The bread wasn't soggy and the toppings were all fresh. Jordan (our waiter) was super attentive and a joy to chat with. I can't wait for a liquor licence to come in and am looking forward to our next visit soon!
Hands down the best bbq I have ever had, and the service and staff was great! Super nice people. I will definitely be back! Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.
We went on Friday for the first time and ordered take out. We had the tipsy Texan sandwich, pulled pork, brisket, Mac and cheese, beans, chicken and the jalapeño sausages. They were all fantastic. We try bbq everywhere we go! This was some of the best!
As someone who loves to smoke meat and eat good bbq. It's some of the best around. From prime rib to pulled pork you can't go wrong.
Huge shout out to Dave who worked with us to cater a teacher appreciation dinner. He was helpful every step of the way and really went above and beyond.
The food was outstanding. Everyone was raving about it. We had pulled pork and sliced brisket sandwiches with Mac and cheese and Cole slaw. Everything was great. If you haven’t eaten here yet try it out!!!!! Absolutely wonderful!!!!!

I don't often write reviews for food, but this food was exceptional and deserves the praise. I’ve eaten Mavericks Texas BBQ ribs, pulled pork, and brisket before so I knew when they were offering a Thanksgiving holiday package it would be delicious. We also wanted to support small businesses in this crazy time and we wanted to make our holiday a little easier. We were not disappointed ,we were delighted at the portion sizes of turkey and sides. Reheating was a breeze and when we cut into the turkey it was juicy. Perfectly smoked for white meat and very flavorful. The sides, oh the sides! Pecan praline sweet potato casserole was perfection, not too sweet as some can be. The cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy was as good if not better then I would have made myself. I also added the Pumpkin cheese cake on to the package, well worth it! It was a creamy dream! You could tell loving care went into all the food the Maverick staff prepared, I think that is bc it is a family run business. Looking forward to patronizing their establishment again soon, excited to eat some more Maverick Magic melt in your mouth meals!
This place is awesome, the smokey taste is present on every bite! You must try the Cuban panini and homemade banana pudding!Adam will take care of you.
Been twice now and I must say the brisket and the chicken are awesome. The pulled pork and ribs were decent. Came with 2 different types of sauce and both paired well with the meats. Wasn't too crazy about the sides or the gumbo I tried. The gumbo actually did taste good, but there was little to no meat in it. The staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable. I spent a little over $40 and it easily fed 4 people.
Wow!!! Large potions of meat, delicious seasoning and great sides (homemade). Highly recommended, one order of 3 meats is large enough for 2 people. Great value for your money. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Has outside seating and additional seating upstairs. Great central location, plenty of parking for a Saturday!! Awesome!!
My favorite place for BBQ. I've tried everything on the menu and have no complaints about anything. My favorite is the brisket, I recommend getting it 50/50 so you get the best of both worlds. The pulled pork, amazing, the ribs, ham, literally everything is mouth watering. I love that they give you sauce on the side instead of on the meat, but it's so good that I rarely use the sauce. The portion sizes are great and everyone is always friendly. I wish they were open more days during the week, but it does give me something to look forward to. If you're not sure what to get, try the sampler platter.
Excellent bbq and you get your money's worth in portions and then some! Ribs fall off the bone, pulled pork is juicy and well seasoned. Definitely coming back and bringing people for a nice hearty dinner.
What an incredible experience. It’s a beautiful historic building with a great vibe with the wood floors and restored exterior. Legit smoker from Texas. The ribs are off the hook! Best ribs I’ve ever eaten. When the smoked prime rib is available as a special, don’t hesitate to try. World class desserts, too. My son and I love the peanut butter pie when available. The trip will not disappoint. If you have only had Famous Dave’s and think that‘s great. You will be experiencing an exponential jump in quality!
Review Update: Last visit was great. Staff and owner very nice. Everyone loved what they ordered and even got to sample some of their newer items on the menu. The banana pudding dessert was excellent flavor and texture.

We really liked the brisket. The pulled pork was also really liked by our group. The Mac & Cheese didn't have enough cheese for us.
We will be back to try other offerings. Hopefully things will be more polished in the future.
