I used to love River bar. The atmosphere and Frose were my fave but lately it’s not the same. The last two times I went the staff were rude and looked miserable. I went today cause I wanted to treat my friend to frozen cocktails and all we got were normal cocktails with LOTS of ice…. Not even the watermelon slush is slush anymore. I miss the old river bar and probably won’t be going back anytime soon which is a shame cause I love assembly row. (The pic I posted was there watermelon “slush”).

Planned a birthday party for my friend with a promise of a fire pit due to weather a few weeks in advance. Obviously due to the rating that promise was squashed. People were dressed for the fire pit so we had to leave with 15-20 people and try to find another place to accommodate…..

The staff is unbelievable they go above and beyond every time I go there! Staff is so accommodating and I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cool spot to check out. They have outdoor fire pits that steal the show, the bruschetta is amazing and don’t forget about the cocktails. Anyone in the area looking for a cute place to stop by and check out, here’s your sign to do so.

This place took a turn for the worst. Been there ore-pandemic and enjoyed it. Now, service was nearly nonexistent, food was not better than what I can buy in a freezer at the grocery store and microwave. Atmosphere is still good so it gets 2 stars. If not for the outdoors it would have been 1 star.

Worst service. Been twice and both times the server takes forever to come over for drinks and take a food order. This weekend we waited 30 minutes until a server came up to take our order. We began ordering and she chooses then is a good time to tell us they were completely out of chicken because “her manager didn’t realize it was going to be busy”. It was a Friday. It would have been nice if she told us when we sat down. The food was okay, but I probably won’t be back.

Way over priced for what they serve. Drinks are nothing great. Ordered chips and guacamole. 2 classic Margaritas or should I say glass of ice with some margarita flavor. Hubby got a beer and chips tasted like they came out of a Market Basket bag and the guacamole had a few tomatoes in it. Nothing great. Truffle fries were reg fries with a hint of truffle flavor. Tasted like frozen fries. No one came over to ask if we needed anything. We grabbed our own silverware and napkins from the bar. I had to flag down a wait staff for my second drink. Then again to get my bill from another waitstaff. He said I can run your card for you. I said can you give me a receipt with a breakdown. Not a total you’re reading off from a scanner (good lord I’m thinking). Def will NEVER go back. So many other fun places to go around there.

I've been here twice, months apart, and both times the bartender(s?) butchered a classic gin martini. Both times I ordered a gin martini 'with a twist' and both times I received a martini that was so loaded with lemon juice that it looked like lemonade and, also, with no lemon peel garnish. I did not send it back but when I ordered my next drink I explained how I wanted it (Hendricks gin, dash of vermouth, lemon peel garnish) and the bartender, incorrectly, told me that "with a twist means with lemon juice". My next martini, again, came without a lemon peel garnish despite specifically asking for it. The bartender(s?) there need to learn how to make a martini or at least listen to the customers simple and specific request.
Oddly, when I asked for the check and pulled out cash the bartender acknowledged me and then started other tasks behind the bar. A few minutes(over 5) later I asked for the check again and she just said something like "I already told you how much". It was loud, maybe she did tell me but she came off as very rude and I think its unorthodox for any restuarant/bar not to provide a bill/receipt after asking for one twice. Seems suspect to me, especially since it was clear that I'd be paying cash.

The drinks and ambiance were great. The food was not so great. The service was a bit cold and lacking but the afternoon was warm. Won't really go back for seconds since there are so many nice places in that neighborhood.

Poor servive. The guy waiting on us had no personality and pretty much disappeared after we put in our order.
I use to love the Fried Eggplant Caprese Salad. They changed it to grilled eggplant. I asked the server to see if the chef would make a breaded and fried eggplant for me. The server came back and just “No.” No explanation. I ended up with a very greasy Yellow Fin Tuna Melt. Disappointing to say the least.
I probably won’t go back again.
The only good thing about the visit was the host. He gave us better service and attention than the man who was suppose to be our server.

River Bar! THE best experience ever! Tasted so many of the wonderful food offerings and drank some delicious white wine. Ambiance was calming yet fun and the staff was friendly, professional and courteous. Absolutely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a very classy and fun night out.

We had a super delicious brunch there yesterday on a Sunday. The food was beautiful and fresh with excellent service. I got eggs and hash w/ hollandaise. We shared the fresh toast which was deliciously gorgeous. My friends and I stayed for like 3 hours indulging in mimosas and wine. Our water was so friendly and warm, we shared some laughs. Can’t wait to go back when it is warm and sit outside and people watch by the river.

River Bar is delicious surprise of fresh in season ingredients and signature cocktails.
Try the "Shut Up & Play the Hits" cocktail for a refreshing blend of vodka, coconut, Thai basil and grapefruit.
The white bean hummus & summer veggies are a great start along with one of the best Tuna Tartare in the area. Salud! 🍸😋

Anytime we're seeing a movie, we stop at river bar for a round or two. The cocktails are always amazing. One time I was sitting at the bar and feeling especially indecisive and the bartender asked what I like, don't like, and what I might be in the mood for and that was enough to come up with the perfect drink for me. It was excellent!
I haven't had much to eat there - the menu changes seasonally (I think) and there's always something I'd like.

Well..first time at River Bar was just okay. The atmosphere is nice, the service was very friendly and the food was generally very good. My boyfriend and I shared a small plate of buffalo turnip and parsnips that was fantastic. The main course he received however was absolutely tiny. $17 for a tiny little leek pot pie (ridiculously tiny) really isn't acceptable. My order of roast chicken taste great and was a good portion. We'll give it another try and hope the management reads Faceboo reviews! Couldn't find an email address on their website.

Saturday night service was terrible, wife ordered a beer that came in a can with no glass. Finally asked again for a glass that came warm from the dishwasher. Would not go back

Well I stopped by with some friends to have just drinks. We were seated quick on the couches which was totally fine since we didn't want any food. The night was so nice that we at first didn't notice how long the waiter took to get out drinks. But seriously we waited about 20 minutes! Ok maybe it wasn't the waiters fault but waiting 20 minutes for just drinks? That's definitely not ok on my book. I don't think I will be going back unless we really happened to not have any other choice which is doubtful. Please pay more attention on this details is not like your drinks are free or cheap.
