Came to this part of Sonoma Valley for lunch as part of wine tour package. There were many restaurant options but we felt like having Mexican food so we settled on Maya.
We ordered the nachos with self-made guacamole and it was superb. We ordered the fish, chicken and pork tacos… think the pork and chicken were good.
Nice authentic Mexican restaurant. Would have wanted to order the margaritas but that would have been risky with all the wine tasting planned after lunch.
First proper Mexican restaurant during my visit. Truly enjoyed the service and people around. High quality food at reasonable price. Am missing it already.
The restaurants aesthetic is very authentic, with what appears to be handmade furniture and colorful masks adorning the walls. The staff is friendly and efficient, and although we ate during off hours we received our food in under 10 minutes: a record. The refried beans were clearly made in house and were creamy and flavorful. I chose the chicken enchiladas and they arrived smothered in a deliciously smoked chili sauce with hints of cocoa. The rice was much more than your standard faire: nicely fried and very light. I would recommend this spot highly.
The food was fantastic. The margaritas were excellent. The ambiance was festive.
A great way to end a walking tour of Sonoma with Mellie Mel.
Cute Mexican restaurant in the heart of Sonoma. The service was fast and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good for the most part. Their rice and beans were not a favorite for me and in my opinion were a little bland. Everything else tastes great.
Service was excellent. Great vibe and food was very good! The enchilada pictured was very good and spicy if that is what you like. Chips and salsa also good. Would definitely return.
If there was 6-stars Maya would deserve it. The best burrito and steak we had for a long time. Great service, reasonable prices, excellent food. Highly recommended.
Great food and drinks! Amazingly fast bartenders. We are new residents and will be back here often. Nothing this good in the Midwest. A treat! Try the pork!
After spending some time in Wine Country we found this restaurant to have a couple of drinks and a light meal. The drinks were okay, the meal was really good very plentiful so we decided to split it. They serve two sauces with their chips very excellent salsas/tomatillos. Not too busy but we came after lunch and before dinner. Clean restaurant, Quick Service.
Really excellent food.
Friendly staff, charming venue although it was quite noisy. Food was a bit pricier than what I'm used to for Mexican but the quality was well worth it. Excellent staples plus some Yucatan cuisine dishes that I'd never seen before. Everything we had was delicious.
Can definitely recommend to anybody who is touring Sonoma. It's easy walking distance from the touristy areas.
Nice restaurant in the Sonoma square.
We went in starving.
The chips were warmed and the sauces (salsa and tomatillo) were fantastic.
We ordered the lime tortilla soup, conchinita pibil, and the mole enchilada.
The soup was great but was expecting more lime flavor.
The conchinita pibil was a bit disappointing. We are a side of grilled plantains after and found it really enhanced this dish, but on its own was not very flavorful. We did not detect the other flavors such as sour orange that it was marinated in.
The mole enchilada was another solid choice.
Service was reasonable. We did have another server assisting ours as sometimes he was just not around.
We like this spot a lot, it's definitely among our most favorite in terms of Latin food. We were in Napa yesterday and we decided to drive all the way to Sonoma to eat at Maya, so it's definitely worth the drive. It's family friendly, you don't need the proper attire to go there. Plates are generous and the price more than right especially for the area. The only thing I didn't quite like was the table service after after we were done eating, they were in such a rush to clean up the tables, I really felt like we were subtly being kicked out and there were plenty of tables still full of people so it's not like we were the last ones. That's basically why they only get 4 stars from me. If they improve on this I'm considering adding the star because the food is definitely worth it.
I've stopped here several times over the last few years on the way to the westside. The environment is fun and colorful. Chips and salsa are very good and difficult to stop eating before the main dish. Service has been good. Prefer to sit at the bar for a more "open" feel (tables are close together). There can be a long wait for your order sometimes- goes with the territory in such a prominent location to the Square.
Come for the ambiance; be wowed by the food. It is such a fun place! The decorations, the walls, the tables and chairs. The food is outstanding, and the staff is great.
Delicious Burrito, super friendly service, free chips with salsa at the start ( you can even get a refill) and an amazing Margarita. And nice ambiente, you can watch the chef through the glass walls.
Food and service was excellent, make sure you are ready for a massive burrito if you go for theirs. Dinning room was a little warm but it was a very hot day.👍👍
The food was delicious, the chips they serve are from another planet 😍. That place is soo friendly and the service was excellent. Great place in Sonoma.
