So this may be long but worth the read—2-14-18
We make an annual trip to the South Bend Chocolate cafe every year for Valentine’s Day!!!
I want to take the time to leave a great review and a big THANK YOU to all the employees working tonight and especially to the ones who waited on us. They were a class act with a service attitude all the way.
It started out when we walked into the door and straight over to the chocolate covered strawberries being dipped. The gentleman was so welcoming — ( but he is every year). He dipped a spoon for my daughter so she can eat the melty chocolate before it hardens (she has requested this every year since she was 6 and she is now 18). —- After that, straight over to the counter to order some dinner. Samples of soup were offered and were absolutely amazing. I went with the South Western Corn Chowder. (Yum). We shared our story of our annual visit with the wonderful young man behind the counter, Along with the gentleman who had been dipping the berries ..... a few minutes later he came to the table with a small surprise of one chocolate covered strawberry for everyone at the table and thanked us again for coming in every year. Then the food arrives and the young man who delivered our food wished us well and thanked us for coming In to spend the evening there. I will also share every meal we received was very good!! If you are looking for a nice place that values their customers and shows them appreciation you can’t go wrong with this place.
So Thank you for an amazing evening with my family and for your wonderful hospitality. I definitely noticed and appreciate that kind of service/treatment.
You can not ask for more. Perfect spot for family, dates, alone time etc. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is great! The only problem you will have is deciding what you want on the menu. I highly recommend this place!
I have been to many coffee shops all over. This includes national chains and mom and pops. The South Bend Chocolate Company has the best cafe mocha I have ever had. I live about an hour away and make several trips to South Bend each year. I always make a point to stop and get one.
Visited the South Bend area for the first time and found this Gem! Came in every evening to have a cup of coffee and something to eat. Everyone at this Café was so incredibly nice and welcoming. The coffee was amazing and the food was delicious!!! Thank you for making my trip to the area that much better!
I enjoy the cafe' people are friendly, services is good, and great meeting place.
Coffee was great, blueberry muffin was excellent and the two girls working the counter yesterday were very friendly and helpful.
Great place for a cozy cup of coffee or hot chocolate & dessert. They have great music on the patio too. And a wonderful place to buy some chocolates, of course! Someday I will get there for the chocolate fountain that I've heard about!! What more could you want?
Great food---I had the Turkey Club when I was there Thursday with a friend for the first time--I really like the atmosphere too!
Love the coffee! I always get an americano and they're great! We got an everything bagel and a cup of sweet pepper soup, today. Soup smells great and the bagel was nice and crispy.
Great friendly helpful and even pointed out great combo sales.
The MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE has been perfected!! Used to be poorly stirred and ill proportioned. If you have never tried it you are missing out it has cinnamon and a mild spice.
They have such a good ambience on the inside of the shop with good smells, an awesome environment, spaciousness, and a variety of options from smoothies to coffee to alcohol to food and obviously chocolate. They even provide board games that you can play in their facility. Outdoor seating is available too. It looks like they roast their own beans although I didn't try any of their coffee. They have a lot of flavored coffee options if you are into that.
If you're a chocoholic your in utopia ! From the time you walk in your eye's actually make you hungry. So many different items to try and become addicted to. Good thing they also have light sandwiches to start with..!
Love this place since it is locally owned, high quality chocolate. The employee was so thoughtful to show my son the special kids' candy section. Great service and delicious treats!
