This review is strictly atmosphere and drinks only. We did not get to try the food.
Blonde beer was home brewed and refreshing. Highly recommend. We also had a stout beer which wasn't too thick and had a great taste.
Lemonade was delicious and they had easy access to water and ice at the bar self service.
Their outdoor area had nice seating around a fire. There were sun shades in various areas. They had a ping pong table, plastic ace throwing and cornhole. Recommend for a nice spot.
I came out to Lake Tahoe in Sept 2020 and now in July 2023 and made sure to stay next to this brewery. It’s definitely my favorite. Happy hour is from 4-6pm, that means $6 pints 🍺 . They have live music on weekends. The vibe is laid back. It has a semi-enclosed outdoor space with a picket fence covered with multch. People brings their dogs. There’s an airstream in the outdoor space with a wood stage in front of it for musicians to play 🎸
We had a few drinks & snacks, some local live entertainment. Before our other entertainment across the street😊.
Very relaxing. And you can play a few games like Ping Pong or Corn Hole. Dog friendly.
South of North was a delight to stumble upon while casually in the area. The outdoor space evenly lit by cafe lights over numerous tables, bar tops and games. Inside they have a kitchen and a number of seats and table as well but a warm evening evening should be enjoyed in the open air.
Their Horchata Stout was a unique find and lives up to it's name with a notable cinnamon finish. Unfortunately only time for one drink but it's worth mentioning they had a good selection of apparel with attractive designs. Images or homages of nature with subtle hints to their name that I could really appreciate.
Friendly staff and great beers. The food was good we had the Greek sando and mushroom burger. The outdoor fireplace was a nice feature on a rainy cold day.
Stopped here for a taste of the local brewery scene and this place did not disappoint! Awesome backyard picnic vibe with live guitar music, fire pits, bistro lights, yard games, and ample seating indoor and outdoor options. Enjoyed a 6 glass flight and soaked in the atmosphere.
The draft options were very good, some good options for everyone. Didn't try any appetizers but there are some good options. Service was super friendly too.
I really, really, like this place. Great beers, cool atmosphere, nice food, friendly relaxed ambience, fire pit and games, spot on location, sweet tunes. It’s all the funky oasis you need.
Had been looking forward to going to this brewery in the middle of South Lake Tahoe, and it delivered.
Went around 3pm on a Sunday for snacks and beers. Tried two beers (4 between the group). The beers were all above average — not the best I have had in Tahoe, but very good. I would highly recommend trying the amber, as I thought that one had the most complexity.
The food is counter service, you order and pick up with your drinks. It took a decent amount of time for the appetizers to be prepared. And we were not told that they would call our name over a speaker so it was a bit awkward standing and waiting. The food itself was good, not great. But we did only have snacks.
The outdoor space was awesome. The atmosphere was great with live music, cornhole and fireplaces. They did have heating lamps but none were in service while we were there.
Overall, the experience could be improved, but was pretty good and a nice place to hang out for an afternoon.
We hosted our Welcome Reception for our wedding at South of North! I worked with Savannah leading up to the event and I really appreciated her quick response time and professionalism! We had a few dietary restrictions that she was happy to accommodate. The day of the event was a dream, we reserved the courtyard in front of the airstream! The live music and string lights provided a fun atmosphere. The whole team was so friendly and gave us amazing service! All of my guests truly loved this experience! I would highly recommend South of North to any couple looking to host a rehearsal dinner or welcome reception the night before their wedding!
Cool brewery on the quiet side of South Lake Tahoe! Very laid back with live entertainment on the weekends, a decent happy hour & pretty good bites. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area, even for just a beer. They have cornhole and ping pong as well ... and the best part? Pet friendly :)
Cool place to grab a beer in a relaxed environment a block away from the busiest part of town. Nice small brewery with a smaller selection of beers. I did a sampler which gave me 6 different beers to try, all of which I enjoyed. Sat out in the Basecamp beer garden and listened to some live music on an unseasonably warm day.
We stopped in for happy hour...mostly because they had live music and it was a block from our hotel. We were greeted by the friendliest bartender...enjoyed a couple beers, fire pit and music. We enjoyed it so much, we went back the next day for another beer.
Great live music. Prices are a bit high, but normal for tourist trap spots. The outdoor scenery is nice and cozy. Even in the cold winter. Connected to the Basecamp Hotel. Nice spot.
Pretty awesome place to hangout. Lots of seating, some games and decent beer. Great stage in front of a airstream trailer really sets the ambiance for the space. Good place to start the night before jumping across the street to the casinos.
Amazing place! Good food, good beer. Highly recommend the meatball sandwich and Brussels sprouts. Dog friendly. Wish parking was a tad better, but overall definitely worth a visit.
Excellent time here. Chill music, plenty of seating, outstanding atmosphere, very good beers on tap, good food, and solid service. What more could you ask for?
