Review Longfellow's Pub - South Yarmouth

We visited in May 2023 before high season. We sat at the bar, where we were greeted by a fun bartender who was very attentive to our rowdy group. I had the swordfish tips which were delicious & my favorite. My husband had the Braised Prime Rib Stacker which was HUGE & very tasty. We also sampled the BBQ Ribs which were fall off the bone yummy and the shrimp cocktail were juicy and the cocktail sauce was on point. Dan & Mindi have done a fantastic job with the remodel & re-opening of this classic neighborhood restaurant/bar. Highly recommend if your on Cape check them out.

Nice clean neighborhood pub-type place with great food at reasonable prices. Friendly and attentive service by Deb. Plenty of parking. A little off the beaten path in a tiny strip mall but that makes this place a hidden gem and definitely worth a try!

*edit* Came back today after having worked on my house all day, and got prime rib and potato skins to go....it was amazing! I was in and out in no time, even though they were super busy. Love this restaurant! I hadn't eaten here in a couple years, due to a bad experience back before the new management/owners took over. I stopped in tonight, to get myself some dinner after a long day at the hospital with my elderly Mother. What a difference! The dining room has been renovated , the staff is SUPER friendly, and their already famous prime rib has gotten better, if that's even possible! I would give them 10 stars if I could, . The whole place is just so much better than it was before, it's like night and day!

Outstanding staff. Outstanding food (even though I didn't get my prime rib - they ran out 😭😭😭) and really warm hometown atmosphere! The rib dinner, and drinks top notch! We will be back! (Please have prime rib?? :( ) thanks again! Steve and Sue - the Pa Poconos!

I ordered the ribeye steak, it was great! Hubby got the shaved prime rib sandwich, and he loved it! Service was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful.

Mindy and the team are always great and really make sure everything is spot on. Im not sure if I should say this (because I'm hoping they never run out, lol) but the prime rib is the best I ever had! Keep up the awesome job, thank you for always providing a great "home cooked" meal!

We’ve been wanting to try Longfellow’s for a while. Had heard great reviews about the prime rib and read not to judge a book by its cover. While it is in a small strip mall next to an abandoned variety store don’t let that stop you. We went there last year but unknown to us it was closed. Apparently there are new owners and it was being refurbished. While I can’t compare it to the previous place I found almost everything about Longfellow’s excellent. The decor and layout is very nice. One side is a nice horseshoe bar with a few high tops. We didn’t have a reservation (Wednesday night 6:00 pm), but we were offered one of the high tops and were seated immediately. The bar has Keno, several tv’s and is decorated in a lot of Red Sox memorabilia. The bar appeared to be mostly local regulars, as everyone was chatting with everyone else. The restaurant side is nicely decorated in a Cape Cod and Nautical motif. There were mostly couples in our age bracket (50’s -70’s) and one family. They do have kids meals and the kids get a take home frisbee with their meal. The Mrs and I each started our meals with a glass of wine with a nice pour. The Mrs opted for fish and chips and I had the broiled scrod, baked potato and corn. The Mrs had a very ample serving of fish yet finished it because it was so good. My portions were very good as well. My fish was piping hot as was my corn. My only issue with anything was my baked potato. It was a good size, cooked fine and very tasty. It just wasn’t hot, I’d be generous if I even said it was warm, not cold but more like room temperature. It was edible but I use butter not sour cream, so it barely melted. Which I might add the pads of butter were a nice soft consistency so the did melt nicely on the corn. Most restaurants give you the butter pads right out of the refrigerator and don’t melt. Butter does not have to be refrigerated and it’s nice to see a restaurant that knows that. Our server, Ari was very efficient and pleasant. He was around when needed and did an excellent job of taking care of us. A small miscue like a room temperature baked potato would not keep us from coming back. The menu is very extensive and for a fussy eater like me( as I’m told by my entire family) there are lots of items I’m dying to try. As we are on the Cape off and on all year I hope Longfellow’s continues to be as good as our first visit. It just might be our new “go to”

Not like it used to be. It's a bar that serves food.
