First time here since the renovation. Everything looks great! Food was very good too, my friend got the house salad and the ribeye and I got the potato pancakes wurst plate. Service was on point. Only thing that threw me off were the costumes the staff was wearing. Made it a little weird.
The redesign is stylish and cozy and the food was excellent. Great menu and execution. Waitstaff was helpful and had on cute German (Austrian?) attire. Really fun. Looking forward to returning.
Great food, cozy ambiance, attentive and lovely staff. We had chicken and veal schnitzels with mashed potatoes and cabbage. The cutlets were thin and juicy, breading crispy, potatoes creamy, served with delicious gravy. Red cabbage had an interesting twist to it, with a hint of cinnamon. The bartender agreed to make one of the drinks on the menu alcohol free and the price wasn’t unreasonable- unlike some places, where the drink is $20 and they will charge you $15 or more for the mocktail version. Overall a great experience, left out taste buds satisfied. Will be back!
One of the last handful of the original restaurants of Southampton's still thriving and operating in this town! And so happy it is! No clue what these negative nelly reviewers have to complain about. The food is solid and stick to your ribs good, the portions to price ratio is also very balanced plus the waitresses have been there 30-40 years and know their loyal based customer's usual orders over the phone just by hearing their voice. There are old pictures of what the restaurant looked like back in the early days and other fine memorabilia on the walls too.
Menu is part German and part Americana but I'm not mad at that at all. Ordered the escargot stuffed into white mushroom caps with delicious generous dollops of toasted minced garlic and butter. The Bavarian combo platter was not too salty at the least bit, the wienerschnitzel a la Holstein came perfectly topped with a fried egg, lovely plump pan seared filets of anchovies and fresh capers. The mashed potatoes was super buttery, the creamed spinach was divine and the saukraut had just the right amount of vinegar fermented kick to keep you coming back for another bite. Loved their lentil and bean soup of the day and I'm usually not a fan of blue cheese dressing at a restaurant but this one was worth licking the plate clean for. Wish I had more space for dessert but that just means we come back for about visit very soon!
Nice location , less busy place then main st and easier to find a parking. Very delicious food , service was fast, clean restaurant.
