Review Blue Sage - Southampton

Angelly Carrión
We took my mom here for Mother's Day 2022 and she complained the whole way about being taken to a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. That all changed when she tried the food and fell in love with it haha! We returned this weekend for my birthday dinner. The food is consistently dressed and cooked to perfection. My dad who does not usually partake in vegetarian-only or vegan dishes was left impressed by the Dragon Fried Rice and ramen soup, which he enjoyed immensely. Cannot recommend the Vegan Survival Pack appetizer enough!!!

What can I say!!! Blue Sage has a nice menu. I want to try everything!!! Nate my server was awesome!! He made sure I was good the whole time. Tonight I had the Nachos and the tacos made mainly with sweet potatoes. I was too stuffed to get dessert. I will definitely save room next time.

So delicious. I had the best dinner tonight. We loved all 3 tacos and the nachos. They were very accommodating with my avocado allergy. Service was excellent.

A long standing Southampton staple, Blue Sage weathered the Covid small business crises... Food is vegetarian and oh, so flavorful! Kpop tacos are our favorite and the Chife is right after those! The mushrooms in Chife are amazing! The tomato bisque (special) was one of the best I've had, and of course the antipasto is to die for. The hazelnut basket is must try! We knocked one star for the service - our server was not very familiar with the menu, inattentive, we ran out of water, no one asked us if we wanted more. Just overall not a great service experience. The are also closed between 3pm and 4 pm!

Very good food that was well prepared with a good variety of flavors. Some dishes were rather large, so it was a little hard to judge how much to order. Service was attentive but busy. Decor/ambiance a bit lacking.

Newly vegan and I order take out from Blue Sage very often. Staff are friendly, helpful, and kind. They will make changes to address any food allergies (menu explains well), everything I have ever eaten or any of the passion fruit unsweetened teas, green tea cold courtesy of an employee on back end. Thank you to all of you fir helping me along this healthy journey ~grateful you are right in my town!!

UPDATE: Dec 2021 Came here for a family celebration. Seating was great, immediate and plenty of room between tables so your conversation could be personal. The meal was fabulous and extremely tasty. Each person was happy with their meal. I myself found a new favorite item on their new mini menu. As much as I miss some of the other meals I fell in love with they keep surprising me with tasteful meals. I had the mushroom Ramen. I happen to love mushrooms and I was in heaven. They did not go light on the flavor and the mushrooms. I am so happy I found this new item I'm willing to come back again soon in case they take it off the menu. I'm also going to try and replicate it at home it inspired me that much. And this coming from a huge steak and beef eater. I love coming here because my family and friends are diverse so we have those who have chosen to live without meat. This is my new goto place for when we are in mixed food company. Don't take my word for it try it. You won't be disappointed! Previous experience below: Just to let you know I am a meat eater my wife not so much hence why we came here. However the food here was so surprisingly good for me. Very sweet and savory, but makes you wonder how they made the veggies taste so good. It is BYOB so that is a nice option for some. The biggest dings I can say is it is a tad expensive. Also since most people eat with their eyes first they should put pictures in the menu. Not all of us are vegetarian experts when it comes to the menu (it can be a little overwhelming). One suggestion we mistakenly parked in the lot between the restaurant and Starbucks. This is actually the best parking lot, a ton easier to get out of.

Amazing, as always. I do wish the menu was all-vegan, but they're usually pretty good at accommodating, and they let you know when they can't. Today they had a special called K-pop that was so good it made me dance a little while I ate it. You know what I mean? Like, you take a bite and then you go "mmm, mmm, mmm" and you wiggle-dance in your seat. You just can't help it. It's just that delicious. I don't live immediately close by, but I'll drive anywhere for good vegan options like this place has. Keep it up, Blue Sage! More, more, more!

Blue Sage Vegetarian Grille is by far the absolute COZIEST cute little spot ever, I love the energy, the decor, and the overall vibe. If you have any allergies, food preferences or dislikes I’d highly suggest you look through your portion well before you start eating. I got a salad and the whole base of my plate was smeared with a thick layer of hummus. It wasn’t listed in the menu description at all and I didn’t like it, it was too heavy and overfilling. Other than that we had a great experience, everything else was amazing!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! If you're looking for an AMAZING vegetarian restaurant you've found it!

My significant other and I just moved to the area and we hit a gold mine with Blue Sage. I would not change anything about our experience -- the ambiance was beautiful, the food selection had a wide variety, the price was beyond affordable, the portions were big, the food tasted AMAZING, but the best part was the service provided by Emilia! She gave us great recommendations, and even wrote down a list of other vegetarian restaurants in the area. We not only will be returning in the near future, but definitely recommend visiting Blue Sage.

I'm still here while I write this review.. that's how much I liked it! Very nice vegetarian food. I think I had one of the most "soothing" ramens. I couldn't find a word to describe it better. Good service. Good food.

My favorite restaurant. I have been eating at Blue Sage for several years, and the food NEVER ceases to delight. The food is so delicious that even some of the most genuine meat-enthusiasts in my life have eaten there and been blown away by how scrumptious their meals were :). My only complaint would be the cramped & crowded dining area, but the food is so darn tasty, I gladly overlook that.

Like it! Loved it!. Great food, very different cuisine and very different combinations of items. Small place, so noisy at times, wish they would expand!
David
Great bday dinner for our daughter. Food is as creative and delicious as ever. Was crowded, noisy and the service wasn't quite as good as past visits. Nobody available to refill water glasses or remove used plates. Twin sister wait staff were so pleasant even though they were working so hard. We will be back. Ever consider expanding to the space next door that is often unoccupied?

Absolutely delicious. I live over an hour away and would gladly drive the distance to enjoy a meal here! Wide selection of vegab options. Even my meat eating family members loved it here!!! Leave room for dessert!!!

Dinner, friday night. We had dinner reservations last friday night at 8:00. That was the only reservation we could get as the place was booked. We ordered the goat cheese nachos and asapagus tacos. The food was delicious and very creative. The only real disappointment was the place is so tiny and the noise level was through the roof. We had to scream across the table to hear each other and also to place our orders with the waitress. The staff was friendly, but a little slow. We are on the fence as to whether or not we would return. Like I said, the food was very good, even if you are not a vegetarian (I'm not), but the noise level and cramped atmosphere made our dining experience less than pleasurable.

Just a fantastic restaurant!. Yup... that about sums it up!

This is by far one of the best restaurants in Bucks County. The food is outstanding, the wait staff is friendly and efficient. The dessert is fantastic. If you don't enjoy yourself at this place, something is wrong with you!!

So many choices... so little room (in my tummy). Blue Sage is the ideal spot. I am vegetarian, but both omnivores & vegans can find outstanding & delectable choices on this menu.

You know it's a great restaurant when, although you're excited about what you ordered, you have a tinge of regret that there were so many other fabulous items that will just have to wait 'til next time.

The only unfortunate thing is that no options were organic. However, although organic & local ingredients are very important to me, the food could not have been more delicious. So, Blue Sage, it would be wonderful to see you phase into local & organic on your creatively wonderful menu.

Delightful experience (both food & staff). Every item we ordered was divine. There is something for everyone here!

Everything is awesome!. Ev erything I've had at this restaurant is really, really great! The kind of food you crave and have to return. It's hard to believe how good vegetarian cuisine can be.
Lynneathome
Great restaurant. The food and presentation are just wonderful. It is a vegetarian restaurant that doesn't try to recreate non-vegetarian dishes with nonmeat substitutes. Rather, vegetables, grains, fruits, etc. are cooked so creatively and beautifully presented. And, the desserts are great. Portions very ample.

Amazing!. Soooooooo Delicious!

Cannot wait to go back!!!. I think I found my new favorite restaurant! I am not a vegetarian and was amazed veggies and beans could taste soo good! I cannot wait to go back! I wanted to taste every meal as I saw it pass by my table! Amazing presentation, excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Service was a tad on the slow side but I enjoyed my group and conversation and did not mind.
We started out with the Black Bean Soup...the best I have ever had! A delicious and fresh basket of bread was put on the table with some foofy butter, We shared a few appetizers and tasted each other's meals. EVERYONE ENJOYED EVERYTHING! The menu is like no other menu. Very Unique choices and very generous portions... especially for the price. We even had lots of left overs. For 5 people our bill came to $85. This is also a BYOB. My only small little complaint is the tables are soo close together. The waitress had a hard time reaching around to serve our table and when we wanted to leave, the couple next to us had to slide their table down for us to squeeze out. (We are not fat). The restaurant was completely full and each time a table left another was seated right away. This was 8pm on a week night too! ( I suggest making a reservation.) As I put the last bite in my mouth I was already planning my next visit! Hmmm...I think I will start with those delicious nachos I saw at the next table!

I was expecting this restaurant to be larger and more casual. It is a tiny place and though we weren't the only people here with kids, I wouldn't classify it as a family restaurant. We arrived just after 4:30 and the place was already filling up with reservations so I'd recommend making one before you arrive if possible. If you'd like an alcoholic beverage, I saw people carrying in wine and the waitress opened and served it but there is no wine list. I started my meal with the peanut sweet potato soup and it was excellent. As it turns out it was also very filling since I had no room for my main course, the green curry shepherd's pie. My family wasn't overly impressed with food but I thought it was excellent. One of the best meals I've had in a while.

A bit more pricey than is listed here. So hard to choose somethig because everything tastes so good! Even meat eaters like this place. Worth a bit of a hike from Philly. Note that it can get very crowded at night. Best to have reservations if you know in advance.

This place was amazing! Their food was so good! I am so glad their is such s good vegetarian place near me. Go here!

One of the best vegetarian restaurants in the area. Better than most non-veg places around. They always have great soups chilled for take out. Always different menu options.
Kelly Brennan
Very busy but well worth the wait. Great service and fantastic food!

Blue Sage for everyone. This is one of the best restaurants in the Philly area. Service is great and the food tastes so good its enough to turn this "carnivore" vegetarian. Enjoy!!
Babymadchen
Never a disappointment. Fantastic service every time. Unique and tastey. I love taking my carnivore friends here because everyone falls in love with the food.

Yummical. Small - romantic- quaint...and TERRIFIC FOOD! The area ia better for having a place like this. GO!

Everything on the menu is delicious even if you are not vegetarian. The place is small, and it's tough to get seated without reservations. The portions and quality are worth the price.
Jeni
Incredibly good food even if you aren't a vegetarian. Thai carrot bisque is amazing. The only problem is they've outgrown their space and the seating is way, way, way too tight, you have someone's butt in your face as people come and go. It is located in a tiny strip mall and is nothing to look at on the outside (and the parking is awful) but it is clean and well decorated inside.

The Vanilla Custard French Toast was my choice. Ever since the interview with the Jacksons, I’ve been yearning for it. Bread dipped in crème anglaise, then brulee’d to make it crispy, and served with strawberries and crushed pistachios. I was very happy. [I actually considered taking half of it home, to have for breakfast the next day, but who was I kidding?] My first course was the Greek Yoghurt Parfait – creamy yogurt, layered over cherry compote with a generous dab of salted caramel and crushed Marcona almonds on top. A very nice mixture of sweet, tart and crunchy.
