Hubby had a steak it had amazing flavor, fair price for great food, love the dark wood in the bar, high backed booths, I had crab cakes they were very good. Would definitely come back again

Just stopped in on an impulse for happy hour food. The service was spot on. The French onion soup was prepared perfectly. The hamburger was cooked to order flawlessly - best burger in town. I will revisit!

Pricey. On all levels Spencer’s does a very good job as an old school steakhouse. The interior conveys this feeling, as well.
Their French onion soup is outstanding, as is the service. My other lunch items were very good but not dynamic. My lunch was a very petite steak, broccolini, a huge prawn (which was overcooked and a bit tough) and a cup of French onion soup (which I ordered without croutons) and a single scoop of Mary Lou’s ice cream.
My medium rare steak was truly medium rare. There seems to be a trend in restaurants, today, to serve steaks raw with grill marks. Spencer’s nailed my steak’s doneness level. Kudos!
Spencer’s is pricey. My boss paid for the office to go out for Administrative Professional’s Day (thankfully). My entrée was nearly $22.00 plus $4.50 for the soup plus $2.00 for a scoop of ice cream. Personally for those lunch (!!!) prices, I think there are better options in the Spokane area.
Food was awesome! Very small portion for a surf and turf. So, had the most awesome Apple Pie. Plus, two Red River beers and tab was .. Wait for it .. Hope your sitting down .. $70 with tip!
We love to have dinner at the bar. The food is great, however, the red wine is regularly served at way too warm of a temperature. I asked about it and they said "no wine cellar and no where else to store it". Might as well order the house wine as Barrister and 5 star are too good to drink warm. I can't believe they don't get more complaints about this. Service at the bar is off and on. Good last night but tonight it took over 10 minutes sitting at the bar to be greeted. And it wasn't busy at all. Too many good restaurants in town for Spencer's not to be great every time.
As Mel B wud say "OFF THE CHARTS!! THROUGH THE ROOF!!" Had the Duroc pork chops w broccolini & asparagus. Best meat I've EVER eaten. They brine the pork and it was tender delicious all the way thru. Every bite was flavorful. I gotta go home & see if I can reproduce somethg similar!! Wow good!! Everytime I come here it is GREAT. CHECK IT OUT. You won't regret.

Quite good. Not sure about the negative reviews that are over 3 years old - maybe new management, I don't know. What I do know is that tonight's meal was excellent. Rib-eye, on the bone, with onions and mushrooms was served to order. The huge baked potato and the spinach were great add-ons. The strawberry shortcake, served with vanilla ice cream, was a hit. (They make their own shortbread on site.) And, the service provided by Kersha (sorry if I didn't get your name right) was one of the best. Smiled, seemed to enjoy working there, very pleasant and helpful in the selections. Bottom line: Great food (generous portions, fair prices), great service.
All in all, a "will come back" with a 4.5/5 rating from me. I am glad my vote changed the overall from 78% to 79% now, but honestly, this place should be an 85% or better.
PS: Note to Urbanspoon, I think there should be a limited time for posted reviews because it is ridiculous to see negative reviews that are years old and no longer relevant to the current period.
Spencer's - A cut above the competition. I am very impressed with the quality of food served at Spencer's. The steaks have always been tender, mouth watering and cooked to perfection. It's not uncommon to savor the blend of aromas rising from the plate for a few moments before I feast like royalty. I ask myself, what could be better than this perfectly prepared meal and then i taste the desserts - heavenly. The service staff has always been polite, attentive and professional. This is by far my favorite dining restaurant.
We went to Spencer's for the first time tonight and cannot stop talking about how good the food is. I've never had every item of food that comes to the table be equally delicious. The Steakhouse Tots warranted a second order and the Mac N' Cheese was amazing. Also the service was wonderful. We definitely will be going back again soon.
Excellent service. Waitress on top of everything; very impressive. I loved the Heirloom Tomato Caprese. Husband enjoyed the flavorful Bison Ribeye cooked to perfection. Also try the from scratch tots with variety of dipping sauces-yummy. Atmosphere creates ideal dining experience.
The other day I went to Spencers for my birthday and it was incredible to say the least. The waiter was fantastic and the food was even better. The waiter did a fantastic job of making sure our needs were taken care of and bringing out our meal with great timing. The food was far and away the best part of the evening. The chef did a fantastic job of cooking my steak to my specifications and the quality of the beef was fantastic. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and will be headed back soon myself.
Spencer's Tots. Went to Spencer's last week and am loving the new menu. I have been a few times before and always loved the food, but was really excited to see what the chef has new to offer. The new steakhouse tots are the best! They are not normal tots, but are absolutely delicious and are a must. Try with the Chipotle aoili, you will not regret it. Other musts are the strawberry shortcake (must have at least two people) and the creme brulee. Service is also fast and friendly. Enjoy eating meals at Spencer's and am never disappointed.
Steakhouse Tots - Best Meal in town. My wife and I spent our first wedding anniversary at Spencer's and have been back for every important event since because we know we are guaranteed a great night. We were back for a lunch for my mothers birthday last weekend and tried some of the new dishes. We attempted to pass the plates around and try everything but the family seemed to like everything so much it was hard too. But everyone agreed on one favorite and that is there new STEAKHOUSE TOTS!! That's right tater tots but not like the ones from grade school, these are huge, with truffle oil and three different dipping sauces. Amazing and they are worth the trip down town all by them selves. And if that is not good enough you get complimentary valet parking for eating there so parking is a non issue. Thank you Spencer's.
Bjw. Great steakhouse, the customer service is very good, they are at your table at the right time so as not to interrupt your dinner. Food is among the best in Spokane.
Still impressive. I went back last night for the first time in a while and found it still at the top of the heap when it comes to steak. (Haven't tried Churchill's yet, but I hear great things). The cuts of meat are perfect, very much in the manner of Ruth's Chris and in our case both the Filet and NY Strip were perfectly cooked. The A la carte approach gets on my nerves a bit, but that's just me. I had a shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were huge and not overcooked; perfect in fact, a piquant horseradishy cocktail sauce. Spencer's is pricey enough that I don't get there often, but last night was enough to keep it on my list of special spots. It's also a very nice setting, good valet parking and the high prices seem to keep the trolls and children away. The martinis were big, icy and full strength.

Went back again and liked it even better. Amazing steak, incredible giant prawns, superb service and setting. It's pricey, but worth the treat.

Consistently Excellent Steak. So this is my go to place in Spokane for Steak, hands down the best in the area. You just cant get steak aged this long (21-28 days) anywhere else in Spokane. I usually order the t-bone, and my wife usually orders a fillet. The t-bone is so big you shouldn't bother ordering anything else, I guarantee it will fill you up. The fillet is tender and worth the price, my wife raves about it when she craves beef. If you are in a large party ordering a few sides isn't out of the question, however remember its ala cart and the sides are large, 2-4 people large. Don't order the hash browns. Frankly I feel if you are going to spend the money at Spencer's (60-80per person) you should stick to what they do best....BEEF. Don't order chicken or fish and then bitch about how fish is better at Milford's, really people of course it is Milford's is a "fish" place, and for "beef" its Spencer's. By the way don't let someone tell you that Wolf Lodge or Churchhill's is as good, they are both good, but not in the same class, like comparing 5 star to 4 star.

Perfection!. This was our second trip to Spencer's and it was as good as we remembered. Don't let the fact that it's in a hotel fool you - this is not a normal hotel restaurant! The atmosphere was really comfortable and relaxing and yet we were pampered by our server.
The wine list was terrific but we were curious as to what our server would recommend. We took his suggestion and had a bottle of Barrister Rough Justice from a local winery and it was superb.
I started with French Onion Soup and it was the best I've ever had. I think I could have been content with just that! Luckily, I had already ordered because I would not want to miss out on the pork chop with cherry sauce that was accompanied by a mac & cheese. It was a comfort food/homey meal that was so superior to anything I could have at home!
At home and other restaurants we usually prefer filets because we know they are tender. Our server really took the time to discuss the other cuts of beef and my husband ventured out and ordered the New York strip. He said it was cooked to perfection and was thrilled with the taste and tenderness of the meat. For sides he ordered the hashbrowns that were to die for!
The only downside is that we didn't have room for dessert! It was a great evening of enjoying food cooked to perfection and being pampered. I can't wait to go back!
Spendy Spencer's. This restaurant, while still one of the best in Spokane, has gone downhill since I started going 5 years ago. The menu keeps changing, taking off things like Idaho Baker's Potatoes which used to be done tableside. And the beef, though prime, just isn't aged or cooked the way it used to be. And the level of service varies, sometimes excellent and sometimes neglectful. I am so sad to know that one of my favorite places in town isn't paying attention like it used to. If you go for dinner, don't sit in the bar!
