This place is amazing! The owner is great to talk to and the food is amazing. Be prepared to spend some time here and to eat with your hands. Its all part of the experience!

I've been going here for years, and I absolutely love the authentic Moroccan food, I really like the owner, it's a fun experience. I personally feel like the price is great for all the courses you get. I love the atmosphere, and it's honestly one of my favorite authentic restaurants. The food is super delicious and I really like the tea there.

I'm gonna go with the rest of the 1 stars. The server talked and talked which would have been fine had the food been okay. The bread was fresh, but was just plain bread and didn't match the theme at all. My chicken and rice were very clearly microwaved as stated by others. This isn't a guess as I heard the beep and the subtle whine of the motor, then subsequent beeps as it finished a few minutes after..... Followed by more beeps and more time. The food was equally as hot for that amount of time.
The presentation and atmosphere was on point though. It felt like you were there. All that said, no cool atmosphere makes up for the rest.

My boyfriend and I went here recently after seeing great reviews. Honestly, this was NOT a worthwhile experience.
1. The meal is very expensive for most students. It's $20+ dollars per person, no less. Keep this in mind.
2. The food was not great. The quality of the food was cheap. Stale bread, very bland couscous, and terrible dessert that was not even listed on the menu (it was just nuts covered in a terrible syrup).
3. The atmosphere was only alright, certainly not that of a high scale restaurant. The seats were dusty, and you could hear the microwave being used from the kitchen.
Overall it was a very expensive, bland, and uninspiring experience. I normally love hole in the wall restaurants with home cooking, but this was NOT that. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We tried it because it was by our hotel and it ended up being a great find. Dinner here it's an event. The atmosphere is great, the seating is authentic, and the food is delicious. The waiter treated us like we were long time customers/friends. I definitely plan on coming back next time I spend an evening in Spokane.

Great food and fun atmosphere. Come prepared to finish everything on your plate before the next course is served. Lots of history about foods. Server is very chatty with you throughout the meal. Not the place if you are looking for an evening out to yourself with your partner or friend to enjoy a quiet private conversation. If you want to enjoy a fun cultural experience and meal with friends, good food and fun conversation this is your place.

It was a strange, yet fascinating experience. The owner is a very friendly, very chatty fellow. He stopped by our table so often I'm pretty sure I talked to him more than my actual date! The food is okay, but it's sorta odd that the hummus is served with what I'm fairly certain is fench bread from Walmart. We paid $20 each for our meal, and I heard a microwave door open several times in the back kitchen.
We didn't have any issues with the food making us sick as some reviewers have complained. Overall, the experience was fun but the food was not something worth returning for.

What an awesome Night! This place is a little different but very Cool! Hope you like finger food and talking with the fun and friendly waiter. Try it out! I love the part when the waiter brings out warm water and you get to wash your hand over the wash bowl! Good tasting food for vegetarians too.

Hm, not recommended!. I am a lover of Middle Eastern.
I went to Marrakesh with a couple of friends and we were looking forward to eat delicious food. As we got to the restaurant I loved the decoration and the simple, but yet, Arabic kind of environment. The owner, who is also the waiter, was very kind at the beginning. He offered us to try the special Moroccan tea, which we thought it was for free because "we were trying it". He kept refilling the tea during the whole time we were there. We ordered and our entrees were different but all of had the same things (weird). We enjoyed the food, even though we thought it was very expensive for what we were served.
Here comes the annoying part... The owner stayed with us the ENTIRE dinner talking about his life experiences, his hobbies, his dislikes, bla bla bla. He talked and talked and we couldn ́t enjoy dinner to the fullest.
Also, at the end, when we received our checks, we were charged for the "free" tea. I just think it is really dishonest to trick customers into ordering something that they haven ́t asked for, or even when you think it is going to be free. Don ́t do that to your customers if you want them to keep coming! Or don ́t bother them during their social time with their friends!

If you like to talk a LOT and like to pay a lot for an gram, Go for it!

Beware: Dishonest business owner -Not to be trusted. We can not recommend doing business with. We liked their food and use to visit this restaurant several time through-out the year but due to our last visit we will never do business again with this business owner. It was a simple act of dishonesty that offended us and made this restaurant lose any future business with us.
This is what happen: My mate and I order 2 different lamb plate which we have done so in the past but this time the owner (who is also the waiter) brought us the same exact dish to us and tried to pass it off as 2 diferent order. One of the order was a leg of lamb but that wasn't what we got. We confronted the owner about it and he denied it. He said that was the rack of lamb when it obviously was not. We knew what the rack of lamb was because we had order it before. He should have been honest to tell us that he didn't have the rack of lamb and we would have just modified the order. No big deal, we would have understand. But since he was fresh and disrespectful about our order it offended us. Do not treat your costumer as morrons. Don't under estimate our intelligence. He tried to pawn to us the wrong dish. Just be honest. Your charismstic charm won't get you out of your lies. We can plainly see that the order you brought us the same exact dish. I should have taken a cell phone picture to post it here. Oh, well you just have to take our words for it.
End result we ate the meal that evening and left very unsatisfied. He intentionly tricked us and lied to our face. The situation was poorly handle. We won't be coming back ever again.

Loved it. ★unique and wonderful experience

Disappointing. There were 10 people in our party who all ordered different meals. Surprisingly, all the dishes looked exactly the same! It looked like a bunch of food out of a crock pot. The taste was disappointing! We won't go back.

I went here with a date last summer. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. The waiter was annoying and talked too much. The soup was delicious but only 1/2 a cup. The midcourse was terrible stale bread and dips. The main meal was passable. Not the best experience.

Friendly service. It was a great experience. The man who owns the restaurant is extremely friendly and really brought out the best in our experience. I recommend it!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. My boyfriend and I went there on a date and it was a success. The restaurant itself is decorated very interestingly with middle eastern looking prints everywhere. The server is very talkative, sometimes a little too much, but he is super friendly. The food is the best part- it was delicious! Their lamb is phenomenal!!

Best Place In Spokane. Easily the best place in Spokane. The service and atmosphere is superb. You have to love the host, and you can enjoy your time not being blasted by text all over the walls, or any other distractions.

The quality of the food is very good. That is saying a lot since I live in Missoula were food by and large is better than in Spokane - especially if you rank it per capita then Spokane look sad.

My meal had the best cooking of chicken I have had to date.

Be prepared to eat a good amount, all things are a five course meal and the price is extraordinarily reasonable for what you get. You could eat out for less but I would recommending saving money to eat here instead of eating out more often - be it yearly, monthly, or weekly.

Lastly order the Tea. Forget what you know or think about Tea and order it. Moroccans are enthusiastic with Tea as a ritual and drink, like Europe is with wine or olive oil.

We had a great dinner with personable service. What a great place. We will definately eat here again when in town!

Hold the afterlife lecture!. 2011 Review was - I like the whole idea of eating Morocan style. The owner cracks me up. The food is excellent. It doesn't change much but it's very good. The whole experience is like being in an exotic oasis. And the prices for the food you get are a deal.

April 2012 Review - The food was the same.

The atmosphere improved! When we last ate at Marrakesh, they were on Northwest Blvd. Now they are on lower Division Street. The new location has a much nicer interior.

What I objected was the the owner was insistent on forcing his view of an afterlife on us. We didn't even mention religion in his presence! And he wouldn't shut up about it. We didn't want to challenge his beliefs as we paid for a dinner not a heated theological debate. Once we were the last table in the restaurant, every course also brought proselytizing! It was miserable and we won't go back!

Please note: I am a very religiously tolerant person. I have friends from all walks of life. He didn't mention his religion, although I suspect it's Muslim. He used words like "the fire" and "paradise", which aren't typical Christian verbiage. My live-in boyfriend in college was Muslim. I've worked with and befriended Muslims. I don't have issues that anyone would be Muslim. I state this because Muslims have been much maligned in the media since 911. Every religion (unfortunately) has it's share of fanactics, as we so painfully experienced at the Marrakesh. I'm making a point of this because Spokane is very "white bread" Christian. Not every Muslim is like the owner and I don't want persons of Muslims faith in Spokane to be stereotyped by this yard stick.

However, my firmly held belief is that there's many paths to God and everyone needs to find their own way. Each human being has a right to their own relationship with God (or lack thereof in the case of agnostics and atheists). However, forcing religion (whatever brand it may be) down customers' throats is just plain bad business practice!

Absolutely amazing service and truly amazing service. This is a complete cultural experience and the owner is knowledgeable and makes a huge effort to get to know his clientele. Well worth it!
