We stopped for takeout at lunchtime while passing through Spokane. We were greeted by the very friendly owner Mr. Kim, and proceeded to order chicken teriyaki and sushi rolls. Everything we had was extremely tasty and very fresh, as well as beautifully presented (see pic). We will definitely eat there again next time we are in Spokane! Thank you Mr. Kim!

This was our first time here and when we left we knew that it wouldn’t be the last! We’ve been to other Sushi restaurants before, ones that included the Sushi train and those that did not. Although I do enjoy the train, this place impressed me!
From the very first step in the door until we left, this wonderful family-owned restaurant made us feel quite welcome!
The Service, Atmosphere, Food was Excellent! If you are looking for the “Train” or inexpensive Sushi, you may want to look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place that serves amazing fresh fish, scrumptious seafood, and good Service- then this is The Place!
BTW - The Sashimi melts in your mouth -> So fresh!
I’ve shared a few photos below for your viewing pleasure.
“Dad” is a True Sushi Artist and you will not be disappointed!

The food is SUPER delicious and the staff are so incredibly nice. The vibe is chill and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm in the big city. Definitely will be going back! Not to mention they have a drive thru.

This place has been in my neighborhood for a long time and I never went here. It always just seemed like it was a little run down restaurant that didn't do very well because it was never very busy. Boy was I wrong! This is an amazing sushi place. Very artistic as well. I have the red dragon and the spicy tuna. They both were excellent.

I've eaten alot of sushi in my life. I was very surprised to find the best sushi restaurant in all of Spokane right in my neighborhood. The staff was polite, masks were worn, and the sushi was actual perfection. I will definitely be back.

What great sushi 😍 The owners put a lot of time and effort into their food. My Fiance and I were very impressed and I'm sure we'll be back. It's not a cheap lunch but if you want some real quality sushi this is where you need to go!

Amazing service and awesome food! My 11 yr old loved the beef teriyaki and he's super picky! Completely satisfied!

I am genuinely perplexed by the amount of 4+ ratings I see for this location. This place was no match for Sushi.com. Our server was a young guy and he was great. My low rating comes from a few things 1. We got there probably 1.5hrs before closing but we were a group of 5 and there were others who had been seated. Only ONE person was making sushi which means it took a while. 2. In an unfamiliar location and not being familiar with the menu, I’d expect everyone to get individual plates. Our meal came served on one huge plate and we had to try and remember all these complicated names for each roll. My guess is they wanted to save on dishes but it was a tad bit annoying. 3. We paid a small fortune. In my situation, their were no individual checks which means someone who didn’t even serve us was responsible for tallying up our checks. I’ve eaten at other locations with less people and had more food and still walked out of this place thinking - what the hell just happened? Our entire group walked out and was like ummmmmm….why did this cost so much? In addition, nothing we tasted knocked our socks off and made us feel like we needed to make a trip back. We won’t be back but it seems like other people enjoy what they offer and I wish them the best! As I said, staff was nice.

Love them!!!!. This place is THE BEST! I called to pickup an order to go not knowing they were closed. They stayed late just for my order. INCREDIBLE SUSHI! Made with so much love, we won't go anywhere else.

First off I want to say that this place has some of the most amazing sushi I have ever had, and the staff is super friendly. On that note this place is NEVER OPEN, the hours on their door state they open at 11 (same with their Facebook page). I have gone out of my way numerous times to go have lunch whether I show up at 11 or 12 or 3 they are closed. It doesn't matter what day of the week. This place is a hit or miss. Very disappointed. How can you run a business when your doors are closed? Go figure, I find a place with amazing service and food, but can't enjoy it if not open. Will not be back unless this issue gets fixed.

Very good fish. The best and most authentic sushi I've eaten to do date in Spokane. Fresh fish, good presentation, not too much sauce on rolls as to mask the taste of the sushi itself (as I've found this to be a problem at other sushi restaurants in Spokane). Highly recommended. I've been missing good sushi since moving to Spokane a few years ago. This place is a gem. Much Better than others I've tried. Don't expect too much for decor. But the sushi is great and the owners are friendly.

Dragon roll is the best I have EVER had. A little heavy handed with the sauce on some rolls. Beautiful sushi!

Great Sushi and Teriyaki!. Coming from Seattle, where good teriyaki is abundant, this was a satisfying choice. Excellent and limitless free parking, very friendly and prompt service, amazing sushi and teriyaki, and fair prices.

Went to Sushi Wa for the first time today and was very impressed. Greeted as soon as I walked in, drinks were prompt as were menus. Presentation was superb and food was delicious. We'll definitely be back in soon. Loved the atmosphere as well.

THE BEST IN WA. My husband and I discovered this wonderful little restaurant via Urbanspoon and are so happy we tried them out! We have been to many Sushi bars all over the Northwest, and this is by far the best. Excellent friendly service, super clean restaurant and the food is so fresh and absolutely beautiful! Such a huge difference from other restaurants, the artistry is amazing. My favorite is the Las Vegas and Volcano, my husband loves the Philedelphia. The spicy chicken noodles are excellent too! We have gone back several times, and brought family and friends as well. While we were dining the first time we noticed several Japanese Exchange students coming, as well as Japanese families. They told us Sushiwa is as good as what they eat in Japan. An awesome little restaurant, I highly recommend!

Have eaten here many times. SushiWA can stand toe to toe with the best Sushi in the region Great presentation and generous portions!

Great sushi.. I recently moved to Spokane from a densely populated area that had a high concentration of Japanese, and a high concentration of great Japanese eateries. Sushi Wa is just as good as any place I have been to, very fresh, and presentation is great. The chef makes all his own sauces and dressings which are great. Service is slow and drinks don't always get refilled fast, and even though I really appreciate good service I go back often because the sushi is worth it. Although the service lacks, the owners are very friendly and the atmosphere is very laid back.

Presentation was a work of art!. We had an Asian inspired rehearsal dinner for 65 people. Sushi.Wa prepared an assortment of sushi on fan shaped trays that was the focal point of the buffet. It was delicious and beautiful! The venue misplaced a bowl that held the ginger. The owners were gracious and forgiving. Whether dinner or lunch everything is fresh and tasty. Give it a try...support this sushi restaurant on the northside.

Great Sushi!. I have to agree that this is one of the best kept secrets in Spokane. I love this place! The owners are incredibly friendly. They have a great menu and the sushi is absolutely delicious. Look at the pictures.....if that doesnt make you want to try it, then I doubt my review will ;) The pictures speak for themselves!

Sushiwanderful!. Such a great experience! Sushiwa just stole my business from every other sushi joint in town. Service was immediate, and we were seated quickly. Our order was timely taken, and within minutes, our Sushi was artfully presented , My wife and I enjoyed the Rainbow, Rattlesnake, Caterpillar, and the Philadelphia. The eel, salmon, and crab were fresh, and so delicious! The atmosphere was even more refreshing. The owners prepared our rolls, introduced themselves to us (Chung Kim is awesome), made recommendations, and even waived good bye as we drove off. Cant wait to go back.

Spokane Northside's Best Kept Secret. I never knew that there was a little sushi place on Mill and Hastings Rd. I passed by on a fluke and decided to stop in. I cannot wait til I can go back again. The freshness was amazing, and the flavors really stood out. I asked the owners and learned that they had been there for three years now. Best kept secret! They must have quite the following to have made it this long, and the food quality is definitely why!

Best Sushi. Service was a bit slow but the Sushi was the best I have had in Spokane. Very fresh and the presentation was excellent. Clean and well decorated. Reccomended if your not in a hurry. Not cheap but good quality.

Best sushi in Spokane. Period.

Although it is a convenient location for north Spokane residents, it isn't worth the price. Other locations around town provide great food at a great price.
