Checkerboard Tavern - Spokane - Photo album

Tiny little place. Open mic night Wednesdays, board had decent food prices and free popcorn. Live music when we were there on a Saturday. Drink prices however omgosh, sticker shock!! Dog friendly I believe. Outback patio. Friendly and happy go lucky bartenders.
Met a girlfriend for drinks around 8p on a Sunday. The bar was clean & friendly. It's a mostly younger crowd, but they made us older ladies welcome. My well bourbon & water was $5. The bartender warned me that the well vodka probably wouldn't suit which I appreciated. All you can eat wings (gratis)
It is a nice bar with a great outdoor area. They have two ping pong tables and a pool table. Can't wait for summer night on that back patio the way they have it all light up.
Great atmosphere. Get the fries. Pet the dog.
Such a nice, fun atmosphere! They have an open mic on Wednesdays and the outside area is very welcoming.
I was surprised by the upgrade. It was clean and the bartender was kind. Ben Ham and the musicans were AWESOME.
The Checkerboard is open it is an awesome place -Visit it you will like it! The Revamped Awesome E. Sprague Business district
Best "dive" bar...oldest/longest open & serving bar in Spokane! Classic Sprague Avenue atmosphere, mix of people. Unexpectedly nice women's restroom! Live music & events.
