I love Hop Scholar..I’ve been here a few times and food and beer is always on point! I love their beer selection - there’s something for everyone. The staff is amazing and sweet! You have to order everything at the bar and also choose your own table. Last time my boyfriend got the Hop Scholar burger
Overall: My favorite bar in Houston. High ratings for a reason.
Price: Beer prices are pretty average especially for what they serve. Food prices are decent as well, but I love the food here, so I don’t mind paying a little extra.
Food: I used to be a big fan of the craft hot dogs, they’re not on
The staff was super friendly, made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions. They have up to 45 beers on tap. The menu is super organized so you can easily find what you want to drink. Fantastic! Great beers on tap and some eclectic bottles like Chimay. Solid bar food line-up with something for everyone. Pet Friendly. Indoor. Yes indoor. Great place to watch a game and bring your furry friend.
Bartender Megan was super sweet, nice, very Friendly, and very helpful with helping me pick out a good drink. I recommend her "Lemon drop" it tasted like a nice lemonade, I also asked for Marciano Cherry juice on the second drink VERY good combo. 😋 she makes them very sweet 🤩 thank you again!
My favorite bar when I visit the area. Great staff, great selection of beers on tap, great food, great atmosphere. It's easy to kill several hours here enjoying craft beer and choice conversation.

Awesome vibe, amazing food, fantastic beers and fabulous staff! Had so much fun and let the bartenders surprise me with 2 beers. Both were delicious!!
Came here on a whim. I did a watermelon sour and it was not for me. The guy behind the counter was very patient with me and explained all the different types and the next drink I liked (can't remember the name). Very relaxed atmosphere.
The hot dogs are to die for! The chihuahua hot dog was so exquisite. Love that they have tater tots too. Service could have been better but wasn’t that bad. I wish they were open for lunch.
Fantastic beer selection!!! Friendly knowledgeable staff, the kind of place where beer is a religion. No food, but they let you bring in food and also let you order for delivery right to the bar! I will definitely be back and recommend to anyone who loves beer!
Very impressed with it's Whiskey Bar cocktail addition speak easy and it's nice selection of whiskey and rum. Some very high end things I have never seen elsewhere

Great drink variety since you can order from Sabbatical from Hop Scholar. Tasty eats. Comparable to Anvil in Houston.
Great selection of beers. Food is always delicious. I love that if you are in the mood for a cocktail sabbatical is right around the corner.
Great Beer Selection! Great Pub Food! Had the Cry Baby Cry Burger with tots, and it was about as perfect as a Burger can get! Half Pounder and just the right amount of pepper heat! Could easily be shared. I've had the Gyro fries before and they were excellent also.The only reason im not giving a 5 s
Matt at Sabbatical is the best bartender I've ever had. Picks the bar selections himself and even aged his own barrel of rum that is out of this world. Bourbon, scotch, and whiskey enthusiasts must come here.
If you love beer you will LOVE this place! They change their taps ALL the time & are very knowledgeable. The whiskey bar that they just added is absolutely phenomenal as well & the picture is only half of what they offer. Matt is GREAT! Super chill environment! 👍🏻👍🏻🍻
