A family run restaurant. They are located next to H-E-B that helps in some footfalls as well. The place is quite decent. The lunch specials are priced well but closed by 2 noon. We had the veg momo it was ok but very cold. The price was 7$ for 6 pieces. The chicken fried rice was decent. We went with spice level of 2 for that. The have spice level from 0-5. The Kung pao chicken was decent as well. We went with spice level of 4. It was spicy so folks who want spicy food should try that level. The service was quick. We went around 3 so the whole restaurant was empty. We called ahead and checked if the place was closed or open and only after the confirmation that the place is open we went ahead. So suggest to call if you going in after 2 They have some beer and wine as well

Perfect cafe before getting your shopping done at HEB next door. This place is clean with the nicest staff. You MUST try their house coffee...I was surprised at how smooth and frothy their black coffee tasted. I look forward to having a sip before grocery shopping. Their portions are enough to fill you up. I recommend the spicy fried eggplant plate, my mom and I love it! Their white rice is perfectly sticky đź‘Ś It's a little on the pricier side, but the quality speaks for itself. Can't wait to go back to HEB just so I can stop by for a bite!

Quiet spot for great Szechuan style food. I tried the Dan Dan noodles and the spicy cucumber salad. Even though they were promoted as small plates, I had to take the left overs to go. The cucumber salad was fresh and very spicy! The Dan Dan noodles were served warm with a chopped pork and a light peanut sauce. Both dishes were perfect for lunch. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and the staff very friendly.

A cultural gem in Spring, TX. Sichuan food is known for their spicy oils. In that context, it can be a little surprising for a western palette. We ordered: the dan dan noodles, the cucumber salad the crispy scallion pancake, the chili oil wontons, and the handmade dumplings. The dan dan noodles were beautifully cooked and perfectly seasoned; you could taste the rustic charm of rural china. Don’t sleep on the cucumber salad. The spicy chili oil complements the refreshing taste of cucumber, really well, but there was a smidge too much oil We liked the scallion pancake. I think it would be better if they weren’t stacked on top of each other - the oil settles on the bottom pancake. Handmade dumplings and chili oil wontons were alright, but fell apart a little too easily

Got the cumin lamb. Very spicy but very good. Authentic Chinese food. My wife got the sweet and sour chicken and didn't care for it unfortunately. I like the spicier schezuan style food and it was awesome. I will 5 stars for the lamb and my wife said 2 stars for the sweet and sour chicken. Be adventurous eat what they specialize in you won't regret it. But know it's gonna be 🔥 🥵 hot!

First time at Chuan Cafe, really enjoyed the Kung Pao chicken ( if you are into spicy food), according to the waitress, specially prepared by the chef. Chicken was tender, spicy, perfect amount of salt, went very well with the white rice. I also liked the fried dumplings and the sauteed vegetables. Pretty large menu, looking forward to return and try some of the other items on the menu. It's good to have high quality Chinese food close to home without having to drive 45 minutes to eat in the Galleria or Chinatown

This was my first time dining in. Normally, I call in an order and drive off to eat it at home like the introverted gremlin I am. Atmosphere is more “pop in for a bite” than date night anyway, but the server was so friendly and really listened to what I wanted when I asked for a recommendation. I have to say, he got it spot on! I ordered the Rattan Pepper Chicken and I feel really pretentious saying it, but it was one of the most complex and beautiful dishes I’ve had in a long time. I’ve had other dishes from here that were a solid “good”, but if you’re looking for your Szechuan “comfort” dish, try asking for a recommendation. You may find a happy surprise!

We came for dinner around 8pm. Service was good, food was fantastic! I got the kung pao chicken and my husband got the Mongolian Beef. I love spicy food so it had the perfect amount of spice for me. Definitely will be trying more things on the menu! It’s a step above the local Chinese restaurants where it’s more Americanized, this place has some more authentic dishes and variety to try!
