One of our favorite places in town! Haven't had a bad thing there. It's all around the best: customer service is on point, even when there is a wait to sit when you get seated the food and service is speedy and has very good prices! I recommend you guys all time time.
First time here. The service was great, the food was great. I had the tilapia and gulf shrimp... biggest shrimp I've ever had in a restaurant. The owner/manager seemed to go around to every table, even ours to ask us if the food was to our liking and thanking us for stopping in. That impressed me. We shall return.
Still the best ribs in the world. We highly recommended as a place to eat. They have other on entrees also.
The best place I have eaten, the grilled shrimp is so good...
Exceptional staff- friendly and professional. Food quality, preparation, quantity is second to none and the prices for this level of service and outstanding fare is unbelievably reasonable (low!!). One of our new top spots!
Was a great experience for the first time being here. Friendly staff and great food! Our waitress Emily was very friendly, helpful, and outgoing towards us. We even got a free margarita from one of the managers which I think was due to another customer’s order error but not sure. We just were the lucky ones who got it for free! Will definitely go back!
It was our first visit and our waitress Sophia was wonderful. Our food was fabulous and came so fast. Our overall experience was wonderful and will definitely be back. The chicken pasta spinach dip was delicious. Generous portions so much so I had plenty left over for a couple of days lunches.
My girlfriend took me there for my Birthday & everything was perfect ! Short wait time, nice seating & great waitress !! The food was excellent ! Fried pickles to start & a trio of shrimp with sides, could not have been a better time for us !!
This restaurant is has really good food, great atmosphere, good service, owner Gene is a great guy!
I give them 10**
The wait wasn't long at all and the service from our waiter was great I got fried catfish with shrimp and it was delicious.
FD’s Grill House 012618,
My Daughter and I ate here tonight out of necessity and time constraints as it was about 1930 and the Texas Roadhouse next door had a 1 hour wait line and we needed to be back at the Holiday in at 2130 for story time. 1 hour wait is no problem; Coach’s story time was non-negotiable. 15 minute wait that turned into a 10 minute wait got us seated in a hurry. This is what I had for review
• Ice tea no sugar. w/lemon
• Starters: Classic Calamari
• Entrée: Red Snapper Alexander; buttered corn; southern coleslaw
• Desert: Shrimp Gumbo
We were seated and made drink orders and were allowed to menu for a bit when our waitress came and took our order. We ordered the Classic Calamari to share and I ordered a cup of Shrimp Gumbo to sample. Calamari arrived with a cup of marinara sauce and a lemon half with a seed bonnet. The bonnet should be used by more restaurants as it eliminates seeds from dropping into your food while you squeeze the lemon juice of it. It also eliminates the accidental squirting of innocent civilians. Calamari was lightly fried and not overcooked, rings only and no tentacles to be found. Marinara was neat.
Gumbo arrived in a small cup as ordered. The remarkable part was that there were three large shrimp and sausage pieces in a perfectly colored and flavored roux. After I cleaned out the cup I was wishing it had been a bowl. This was good stuff.
My Red Snapper Alexander was served on a 12” white platter, grilled and nestled on a bed of rice, covered in an Alexander sauce. Alexander sauce is not something I see very often. It is a thinner version of a white gravy made with butter as a fat, then flour to make a roux and you then add enough clam juice or seafood broth for a desired thickness. There were also four pieces of crawfish and three small shrimp that could have been cooked in the sauce. I couldn’t tell from the flavor and the plating looked like it was mishandled from the kitchen to the table. It was kind of homely looking but tasted great. The buttered corn I ordered as my side was placed on the left side of the plate and was sweet and buttery as advertised. My second side was their southern coleslaw. It was good but not remarkable.
The restaurant was nice and dare I say upscale, it was very clean and modern. Wait staff was properly attentive and were not overworked as the place was full and there was a good flow throughout. They have a little something for everyone on the menu. It’s not too extensive or exotic but does have a lot of fish and shrimp type plates. Worth a go if you can’t get into the Roadhouse.
I write these reviews to assist you in the food experience and not so much the service experience. If you enjoy my review(s), please click like or follow me. God Bless!
Fantastic from start to finish. Kyle B. was our waiter. The service and food was awesome! Everything was more than I ever expected from a 5 star restaurant. Thanks to all the staff!

Went to lunch today here. There was a group of 9 ladies. They weren't real busy and seated us fairly quickly. Our waitress was not so friendly or nice for that matter. She would reach across the table to serve beverages instead of walking around and there was plenty of room. One of the ladies didn't have silverware and waitress was asked to bring her some. Waitress replied, Well it is at the other end of the table have them pass it down. She didn't refill drinks, if you wanted more you had to ask. When the bills were passed out, she put a pile of them at the end of the table and passed some out. When one asked for the bill, she said it down there and pointed to the end of the table. We have a habit of staying around the table chatting after we are done eating, especially if the restaurant is not busy. Well we stayed and chatted for awhile and I have never gotten such dirty looks from a waitress as she was giving in all my eating out. Needless to say, everyone of us reflected our bad service in our tip. In saying all of that, the food was great, but take a jacket they like to keep the place cold.
Great food and service every time except once our food was about 10 minutes long and they gave us 4 10$gift cards and free desert
Love it there
Had lunch at FD's. The food was good, the waitress did a great job BUT you better bundle up. It's freezing in there! We asked the waitress if they get complaints about how cold it is and she said they get complaints all the time. She said they tell the manager and they'll just smile. We were going to get a hot fudge sundae and decided not to because it was so cold in there. We couldn't wait to get in our SUV to turn the heat on. Well have to wait and go back in the summer. Lol Brrrr in FD's!
Try it now before this fledgling chain takes off and invariably looses quality and character as all chains do. The restaurant is beautiful, I can't see them going this high-end in multiple chain locations. The menu tends to the seafood and steaks end of the spectrum but nice variety. The preparation of the fish (trout and salmon) was spot on, seasoned to compliment not cover and not overcooked. The calamari appetizer was fried to perfection leaving the squid tender inside. Even the salad and sides were good especially the steak fries, obviously cut in-house. For being this far inland this is quality seafood. Great prices too, that can't last if they are expanding and doing things this nice.
As a side note: I find the negative reviews suspect for FD's. Not that everyone will enjoy them, to each their own, but suggesting a mediocre national chain next door or complaining about noise level or a "fishy" smell just isn't valid especially from one time Zomato users. Establish a review history and add some pictures if you want to be taken seriously.
Every time I have been here the food and service have only gotten better. For my husband and I to eat two meals, an appetizer and he got a drink for under $40 was great. Sometimes it takes while to get a seat since it is always so busy but that is a good problem for a restaurant to have. I even watched them refuse to seat customers when they saw that the floor wasn't cleaned yet. They really care that everyone gets good service.
Ribs and fish taco's great. Didn't think we could eat another bite, but the key lime pie was excellent. Had the broccoli soup it was good also. Service was excellent. Staff very friendly

Super reasonable and still a nice place to go. Knowledgable wait staff. Owner frequents tables and gives a personal touch. I've tried several dishes and all have been excellent! Cedar Plank salmon, fish tacos, chicken tenders, steak and more! You won't be disappointed!
Tonight was the 1st time we went to FD's Grillhouse. The atmosphere was nice. However we had to wait way too long for a table. We were a party of 5. The hostess was not at all apologetic nor did she even let us know how much longer it would be. We waited roughly 45 min. Parties of 2 and 4 were seated right away. Finally we were seated at 4 top booth with a chair on the end. The manager or probably the own saw this and had them put to tables together. He was awesome. He was going around the room and to us asking how everything was. As far as the food goes they have great prices and the food tasted great. I highly recommend the house lemon herb vinaigrette it is delicious! My food sadly did need to be sent back.. My steak was under cooked and the shrimp and rice was cold. When it came back it the steak was perfect but the shrimp and rice was still cold. I was too hungry to send it back again. Everything else was fantastic. Definitely try the hush puppies they are great! The key lime pie is amazing too. I will go back again and send my friends. Again the owner going around and making things right and interacting with the customers was great to see. We really don't see that much anymore.
My family enjoyed the meal. Good food and service. All 4 of us ate for less than $40 which is cheaper than we'd spend at most places..... I would recommend.
More than meets the eye. I focus heavily on trying to eat at non corporate restaurants. I think they slipped one past me this time. Nevertheless the atmosphere is very nice, approaching upscale. The place was packed with a line out the door. The wait staff seemed to be keeping up very well.
The food is extremely inexpensive for what you'd expect. You get a lot for your money. It's decent quality I suppose. I can't complain for how cheap it is, but the food is strikingly similar to Applebee's. I'd rather eat here than Applebee's though.
Take a first date here. They'll bet impressed and you won't go broke.
I tried several menu items loved them all. Great food at a great price. I'll be back.
They have the best ribs I have ever eaten anywhere, and for a super reasonable price. All of the waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. I will absolutely be back!
