We just had breakfast here made by Chef Bee. It was one of the best breakfasts that I have ever had! My husband is not a big breakfast person and he can not stop raving about how good it was. I highly recommend this place!!
We have visited Saint Augustine regularly & have completely missed this place. Yesterday evening, we stopped in & to our surprise there was no fixed menu because the "ingredients" are selected fresh daily.
1. The service or waitress was every bit of friendly & genuine. 💙
2. The atmosphere, just like it's younger sister #TheSecretGardenOfShaShi overwhelms you with a peaceful feeling.
3. The food we enjoyed, was a flavorful experience & I'm so lucky to have wandered over here.
4. This isnt about price, this is about avoiding the hustle & bustle of being a tourist & being reminded of the beauty that is Saint Augustine.
If I could only eat at one more restaurant in my life it'd be this one. Absolutely the most amazing setting to eat in and the mood is amazing. The food was prepared to perfection and I definitely recommend this place to anyone who has an appreciation for food and art.
This was our first time here, an amazing experience! Remy was our server tonight, very kind and excellent costumer service. The food was amazing, best meal I've had in years! Thank you Gourmet Hut for a wonderful, romantic anniversary meal! Next time we're in town we'll be back!
The Chef made me a yummy vegan dish on the spot, very accommodating. Excellent service and the sangria was to die for. The atmosphere can not go unmentioned, the gardens are as lovely as the food.

What an amazing venue.....we stumbled onto this beautiful place while on a weekend getaway! The food was amazing, service was outstanding, I do believe we found our new favorite place! In 2 1/2 days we visited 2 times! The owner Wendy was the perfect host and our server Justin made our visit everything we could imagine. We will recommend !!!!
Thank you Wendy for our gift, we are still enjoying it! R&R
Love love love the Mexican scramble and spinach frittata. We were here on Monday and Jordan was our server. He was very attentive and a pleasure. Our food was fantastic as always! Do not visit St. Augustine downtown without stopping in The Gourmet Hut for a bite.
Stopped here on a whim with my wife, found it under new management. Ah!!!Mazing! A true gem in St Augustine. My wife had Chilean sea bass with shrimp etouffee and I had crawfish Mac n cheese topped with Alligator! Bread pudding for dessert was delicious. Closed my eyes and I could have been eating at my favorite restaurant where I grew up in South Louisiana!
One of the best meals in my life! The filet melted in your mouth! Every bite of every item, including dessert, was outstanding!
Great place. Great food. Great ambience. And our server was the best!
My husband and I were there last night to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was so relaxing and personal. I love steaks, but I've rarely found somebody (other than my father or myself) that cooks a really good steak to just the right donesness, but last night's steak was perfect! We couldn't have asked for a better dinner or location.
Our dinner was amazing!!!!!!!!! Food was awesome. Service the best!!!!!!!! Such a sweet and cozy spot for a romantic dinner!!!!!! We will definitely be back!!!!!!!!!
A true dining experience. First let me state this is not a fast food restaurant. Don't come here to eat and run. My husband and I so enjoy this spot. This is a spot to dine casually, and enjoy the experience. The outdoor dining is lovely and the food is exceptional. We finished up with key lime pie that was delicious and came back the next day for another piece. Such a gem in St. Augustine!
The seating outside has very good atmosphere. Unfortunately thats the only best part of the restaurant. The service is horrible. Long waits for food. And tap water. Yikes. My companion had to replace her meal twice because it was cold. Therefore the waffle entree is not recommended. Order omelet instead. It is good and edible. Again, long waits. Overall, just okay.
Hidden Gem!. I have lived in the area for 5 years. I can't count the number of times I have strolled down this picturesque street and admired the magnificent little cottage covered in ivy. But only when I participated in the Savory Faire food tour by City Walks was I introduced to the true beauty of The Gourmet Hut. What an amazing find -- such a hidden gem. There are no menus.. fresh from the farm to the table. Stepping into the garden seating (with tables covered in burlap) felt magical. The Chef came out and greeted our tour and presented what he had created for us. All three mini courses were to do for... first was a wonderful Chicken Parmesan Bruschetta with ginger. Incredible! Next up was the chef's twist on Beef Wellington.. with apricots instead of pâté de foie gras. TO DIE FOR! I have eaten in some of this country's best restaurants and this was an all-time favorite dish. Lastly, he finished us off with dessert that included home-made ice cream and was too good to describe. -- Grab your friends. Order wine. Soak up the history and the beauty of this magnificent little city. And eat divinely. On a beautiful day in historic St. Augustine, you MUST deviate from the beaten path and experience The Gourmet Hut. My new favorite.
Great ambiance. Food to match! Highly recommend to anyone visiting St. Augustine. Thank you Sheldon!
Great food, atmosphere, prices! Best of all there is a coffee shop next door which is operated by the same people. Definitely a favorite of St. Augustine
The Gourmet Hut. My husband and I were exploring St. George Street in St. Augustine and, on a whim, decided to walk down Cuna Street. We found Chef Sheldon McPherson outside his picturesque Gourmet Hut. He told us about his daily specials, all made from fresh local ingredients. They sounded so delightful we decided to come back to eat our dinner there later in the evening. Chef Sheldon was a consummately professional and engaging server and chef, recommending wines to go with our dinner and changes he could make in our entrees to personalize them for us. The environment was intimate and romantic, and the wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert were superb. Overall, it was a truly special experience we will always treasure!
Wow!! My new Getaway !. Wendy, et al.....
What a wonderful visit to The Gourmet Hut !
After a rough time having lost my beloved husband, my daughter and son-in-law brought me to your facility "twice" during the Florida trip. I wish I lived closer...I would relax there each dusk and enjoy a nice glass of wine and your "wonderful" desserts and entrees.....
Cheesecake !!! KeyLime Pie !!! "Better than Sex fruit and ice cream dessert"....Dessert wine...yummmm. Brushetta ! Everything was fresh, tasty and wonderful. Atmosphere? Can't beat it ! Thank you !
By far the best hidden gem in St. Augustine !! It is very reasonably priced gourmet food, with attentive personal service. The chicken was the most tender and flavorful I've ever had. This is by far the best food in St. Augustine !!
This a great place for a nice quiet date.
I ordered the chicken kebabs and the shrimp cocktail. The Shrimp were large, perfectly cooked, and tasted great. The Cocktail sauce that accompanied the shrimp was freshly made in-house and may have the been the best cocktail sauce I've ever had. The Chicken was tender, moist, and perfectly seasoned. And wine was served chilled, just right.
Overall, The Gourmet Hut is a hidden gem with a calming, beautiful outdoor atmosphere.
The ordering process is a bit strange for the atmosphere. Order at the counter, have a seat, and they'll bring it right to you.
Overall, I adore this place.
Great Food , Service and Atmosphere!!. We stopped in to have a little lunch and were blown away with how great the food was. Very reasonable and yummy!! Highly recommend!!
Great Homemade Faire. The staff is friendly and the food is wonderful! The Coronation Chicken Salad is wickedly good. You have to try it!
The food was so delicious! I had the chicken penne (shown in picture) which is now one of my favorite dishes I’ve had at a restaurant. My boyfriend had the grouper which he also really liked. Romantic atmosphere, beautiful live instrumental music, and just a great ambience all around. The staff were friendly and we were quickly served.
This restaurant is a MUST if you are visiting Historic St Augustine !! The food was PHENOMENAL !!! The atmosphere was romantic , with live piano and candlelight. The staff was attentive and very very friendly . This is now our most favorite restaurant…
This was an awesome little spot mostly covered in tree and vine plant canopies. It was a great place to get out of the sun and sit back and enjoy a beer, some coffee and some food. The Cafe has some amazing cheescake. The server was really friendly and went above and beyond for us. Food was amazing and was priced fair for its location.
What a charming spot! Vined garden with fire pits, live keyboardist on a Monday. Courtyard seating. Loved the Moroccan lamb dish, and the affordable (but quality) wine by the bottle. Seemed like a family establishment; if you aren't uptight, I bet you'll love it as much as we did.
The atmosphere was cozy and charming! We enjoyed the beautifully lit garden with fire pit and live piano music away from the crowds. We were delighted they found a seat for us! My husband loved the filet with mushroom gravy and my Chilean sea bass was delicious. The French onion soup was yummy... rich and beefy.
We had a great evening. It was the perfect place for my mom birthday. It's a hidden gem. Outdoor seating, amazing food, great atmosphere. Live classic music. I loved it.
