We recently visited St. Augustine and had dinner at Athena Greek Cuisine. My wife and I enjoyed our meals. My wife had the spinach pie and I had the gyro platter. The food was very fresh and tasty. The service was prompt and helpful. I mentioned it was my wife’s birthday and the waitress brought us a complimentary baklava after dinner. If you are in the downtown St. Augustine area and hungry this is the place to go.

We decided to go to a mediterranean restaurant for lunch and found Athena. Looking at the menu we felt this would be a good place. We ordered the Hummus platter for an appetizer, the hummus was ok not much flavor and the pita was fresh. I ordered the Avgo Lemono (chicken lemon rice soup) which was very tasty and the grilled chicken sandwich with potato salad. The chicken was very tough with no flavor and I was unable to finish it. My wife ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and again the chicken was tough with no flavor. We told the waiter about the chicken and he said he will tell the chef. The price was 45.62 for a lunch that was inedible and we not be going there again. Choose wisely!!!!
I appreciate the discount. Salt is not the only spice that adds flavor to grilled chicken. The toughness of the chicken is what made it inedible for me. There are ways to tenderize chicken breast that could help.

Absolutely amazing Greek food - highly recommend this Greek restaurant. Gyros and souvlaki were delicious and tasted very fresh. I also really enjoyed the Greek potatoes. My entire party really enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent. Will definitely be coming back soon. Desserts great too!

Food was good. I didn’t love my dish - the lamb shawarma was too sweet. But our saganaki app and the gyro was good. Nothing crazy unique with the gyro but a solid dish. The saganki was super well seasoned though and one of the better ones I’ve have.

Ate here as part of the Forks and Corks tour. We had the flaming cheese, which i HIGHLY recommend, and a gyro. The wine was delicious. I would recommend!

So good! The retcina captured our taste buds; the food was lovely and the atmosphere allowed for unfettered conversation. Bonus: easy parking.

Surprisingly good Greek place. The gyro platter, the lamb chops and the lamb shank were all good. My favorite was the baklava cheese cake -incredible!

Great food with excellent service! We had the Gyro and a small greek salad. The gyro was delicious with plenty of meat and could have easily fed two people. The Greek salad was fresh and delicious tasting as well. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed it very much and highly recommend eating here.

Good food, excellent service, and great atmosphere. I took some new friends here and the server, Maeva I believe, was immediately accommodating of our large party even at a late hour. The saganaki was a spectacle and tasted great. When we got our food, it was presented wonderfully and my stuffed chicken was sublime. My friends split the classic Greek combo and they raved about the delicious pastitsio. Finally. I was astounded to find a gluten free dessert option, the flour less chocolate cake, and it actually tasted amazing! I even took another slice home! All in all the service was great and the food was delicious. Dining here is a must!

Had the traditional souvlaki, it was tasteless, a very little amount of meat, covered with overwhelming sauce. Fries for $3 weren't even cooked through, soggy greasy mess. No feta cheese in sight!! Would I return, doubt it. Nice looking interior, extremely loud, to the point you can't hear to have a conversation, no soft scape to absorb the sound waves. Like no food I had in Greece that's for sure.

Food is yummy and the staff is very friendly. We ate there yesterday in St Augustine and all four of us had the gyro platter (lamb).

My husband and I stopped in on a whim while visiting the town and both ordered a Gyro! They were HUGE AND AMAZING!! Service was great and the server even refilled my water bottle for me when we left. 10/10 would recommend!

Amazing food and atmosphere! While vacationing in St. Augustine, we are guilty of stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon desert...every day, while visiting. We love Athena’s and it reminds my mom of the time she lived in Greece. Can’t wait to be back and order our favorite dishes!

We were visiting from Jacksonville Florida yesterday a couple hours before the Night of Lights. The service was excellent, attentive, and prompt. We ordered the chicken souvlaki. Absolutely delicious. We shall dine here again.

Moussaka frozen in the middle, nuked another one, cold in middle. Only offered free dessert which we didn't want, so gave us 10% off..that entree should have been comped. Poor customer relations, manager avoided us rest of the evening.
Should have wised up when owner on sidewalk trying to lure ciustomers into empty dining area at dinner rush.
