What a Great Glass of Sangria! Lots of fruit and not too much wine. Spiced well with plenty of flavor in a really cool glass. The street side seating is quaint and cozy. Our server was a sweet very professional and pretty lady. Who made our drinks by the way. The side street setting is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery with flowers everywhere and the smells from the kitchen fill the street.

Nonna’s Trattoria!!! Italian restaurant at its best. In the historic district of St Augustine Florida. We were looking for an Italian restaurant for dinner and decided to try Nonna’s. Went in at 5pm to make a reservation for 6pm and happy that we did. They have outside dining with heat lamps which reminded me of little Italy in NYC. The inside dining was cozy and inviting and the decor was great. They give you garlic rolls with olive oil and spice which was very tasty. I ordered the Chicken Picatta with spaghetti and marinara sauce which was excellent. Being an Italian from NY I know good Italian food. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with Penne Alfredo and a Pinot and she said it was delicious. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant if you are in St Augustine visiting for the day or on vacation. While we were there a party of 6 came in and sat across from us. We notice one of the gentleman seemed to be the owner. He got up went to the kitchen which is visible and started cooking for his party. We watched him as he cooked and he waved to us asking how is everything. When he was done he came over to our table to chat. I asked were he was from which was Palermo Italy, I told he my family was from Cosenza Calabria, Italy and we spoke briefly in Italian. He asked how was the food and we told him excellent and me being an Italian from NY I know good Italian food when I have it. The owner’s name is Adamo and his restaurant is definitely a place you should visit.

So lucky to have stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant! Beautiful sidewalk seating with views down the street toward the plaza. Easily one of the best restaurant experiences we have had. Delicious made to order home made Italian dishes. They may have a small menu but they have perfected what they serve. We had the bolognese and fettuccini Alfredo and calamari appetizer and it was the best Italian food I’ve ever had. This place is so worth the wait if you love authentic Italian food!

It was a small quaint restaurant. The service was good assisted right away. I had the chicken Alfredo it was well portioned definitely shareable. My wife had the chicken Parmesan and it was delicious and also well portioned. Tiramisu was stupendous.

I’ve lived in the area for 12 years and just now discovered the culinary bliss of Nonna’s Trattoria. The service from Brittany was outstanding—so attentive, right down to the wine pairing suggestion. I will be back many times over, and I intend to try everything on the menu. The limoncello cake alone is worth the trip. It’s divine!
Nonna’s ambiance feels old world, as it’s on an old brick road surrounded by historical buildings (that aren’t shops or bars) and is well away from the kitschy restaurants in the main touristy area.

Holy AMAZING🤤🤤🤤. BY FAR the best Italian place in St. Augustine. The food has so much flavor and plates are HUGE. Will forever go to them when in town. I’m pregnant now and craving them all day long😭😭😭 You guys need a location in Tampa 😂❤️

Located in the southern end of downtown St. Augustine, my wife and I found Nonnas Trattoria offering Italian food as good as we've had anywhere in the US or Italy. In a rustic and comfortable storefront, the restaurant offered a limited menu with wonderful flavors. The food was prepared fresh in an open kitchen where we could watch the chef cook each individual meal. We started with the fried ravioli appetizer and then enjoyed the pasta bolognese and grouper in light lemon sauce. While I lack the culinary vocabulary to properly describe the nuance of flavors delivered in our dishes, suffice it say we happily finished everything. We were fortunate to get walk-in service but the number of tables inside are limited. They also offer some outdoor seating on the street, but I would recommend reservations to be sure you get the opportunity to enjoy all that Nonnas has to offer in great food and wonderful service.

Such a great experience❤️ Food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing, felt like home. Homemade tiramisu was delicious and the chicken Alfredo was great as well. Definitely will be coming back!

My son and I are frequent out of town visitors to St. Augustine and we discovered Nonna's Tratorria by accident on one trip. We were so impressed with the freshness of the food and the friendly and attentive wait staff that we now make it a point to eat here on every trip. Great homey place with delicious Italian food.

Worth stopping by!. A pretty little place on a beautiful street in a convenient part of downtown St Aug. Decent+ food, exceptionally pleasant (slightly sluggish) service.

While the menu isn't exceptional, it's fine for a mid-day meal and the food is homey and satisfying. Recommended!

(Far better than it's neighbor Herencia, which you couldn't pay me to go back to)

Not a fan... My boyfriend and I had a late dinner here and it was underwhelming. The service was poor and they were out of bread? My boyfriends snapper was overcooked (rubbery) and my pasta with bolognase was mediocre. They were closing and rushing us out by turning on the lights and didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. There are MUCH better places in St Augustine to dine than here... Don't waste your money.

Cute location, excellent service, phenominal food. We had the eggplant parm & the grouper piccata. The eggplant was excellent with several layers of flavors and a wonderful, flavorful sauce. Yum. The grouper was sauteed and came with jasmine rice & sauteed zucchini. Just incredible. Definitely worth having lunch or dinner at. Just a great meal.

Very Delicious. My husband and I stopped in on a hot Saturday afternoon, and was immediately waited on by our waitress. This was our first time there, and found the restaurant to be cute and quaint. The waitress was very attentive and made some great recommendations. My husband had the Pizza Bianca, and I had the Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo. I really like the white cream sauce, and the waitress indicated that they can make it the way I wanted, of course, I was very happy. Also, my husband did not want capers on his pizza, and she was very accommodating to him as well. He said "it was worth the money." The shrimp was very plump, and it was a great portion of shrimp and noodle ratio, sorry I do not have any pictures, but if you would have seen my plate, you would have ordered it too. I really like the service and the food as well. I would highly recommend eating there!

Good restaurant. Excellent service. Great food and wine. Generous portions at a good price. A definite lunch or dinner stop if you're wandering down Aviles Street.

This quaint family run restaurant was amazing! The veil and spaghetti were superb and the service was friendly and informative. You MUST order the tiramisu it was to die for!!! We will be coming back very soon!!

Friendly staff, good service and good food. Chicken Parmesan and Eggplant Parmesan are both excellent. The complimentary bread was delicious.

Best Italian food in St Augie. My girlfriend and I eat at Nonna's quite often. It's quaint, cozy, and easily the best Italian food in St Augustine. I've had the lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and my personal favorite, chicken parm. All are exceptional. If you go when the weather is nice I recommend getting an outdoor table so you can enjoy a fantastic meal while people watching.

Fettuccine was below average; lasagna was superb!

Best lasagna!!!!. Came with the family, party of 7, and the owner was very nice and accommodating even on a very busy night. We LOVED the food and service. My husband and I had the lasagna and both agree it was the best!! Great St. Augustine experience. We'll be back!

I work downtown at a restaurant and frequent Nonnas often. I always order the kids spaghetti and meat sauce, with sauteed onions on top. I had to call the order in for pick up and Whitney answered the phone and took the order. I forgot to mention the onions, she double checked to make sure it was me and mentioned the onions because it was something special they do, and she wanted to make sure I had the best service. I was extremely impressed and will clearly continue coming back. Thank you for the excellent service Whitney!!

BEST ITALIAN FOOD EVER!!!. My husband and I eat at Nonna's as often as possible. We drive to St. Augustine about 2 times per month and I literally call Nonna's as we hit the road to make our dinner reservations. The food is excellent and the wine choices make it a perfect dinner. The staff and owner are VERY nice and make us feel like "family" by the end of our dining experience!! We will ALWAYS make this place our FIRST choice!! See you all again VERY SOON!!!

I have never left a review on a restaurant before, but I had such a bad experience at Nonna's that I felt the need to warn others. We showed up at 7pm and were told by the waiter that they were reopening after being closed for three hours to clean out the attic because they "hadn't had any customers." We waited for 20 minutes for the chef to show up before we brought bread. The menu was limited but I settled on chicken alfredo, which was extremely bland. Several times throughout our visit the waiter got in loud arguments with the chef, who spent his time playing on his phone in full view of customers. At one point the waiter even stormed out of the restaurant. When we were brought our check, the waiter mixed up tickets and charged our card for another table's orders. The manager was very friendly and apologized, but there wasn't much that could save the overpriced, bland food and horrible service.

HORRIBLE!!!!!! We started o.... HORRIBLE!!!!!!
We started off our night at Nonna's by having our waiter, a guy with a New York accent, go around and shake everyones hand... Different but whatever. After he took our orders, we noticed that the plates on the table were dirty. My fiancé wanted to leave, but I said, "let's give this place another chance!!!" WRONG IDEA. The "ITalian chef" they brag about on their website wears an Italian chefs hat, listens to his iPod, and isnt italian. My fiancé wanted the osso bucco, but they don't serve it any more. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The waiter took it back to the chef, and I watched him pull spaghetti out of a bag, stick the meatballs in a microwave, and use sauce that has been sitting out who knows how long. I believe it is not safe to leave sauce sitting out for a long time. They put cheese on top without asking. I sent it back, and they brought me a new one within 4 minutes... Shouldn't it take a little longer to make spaghetti and meatballs? The fact that the "homemade meatballs" (it says this on the menu) were microwaved really weirded me out. We spent 32 dollars for one soda, and 2 pasta plates ( 14 each). If you want an amazing dinner, head across the street to Athenas Greek Restaurant. We ended up going there because we have been there before and you get way more bang for your buck. Avoid this place.

Good food good service. Ordered the chicken parm and it was out of this world good, the wine is good and the price is very reasonable. Great addition to the street.

Italian in a jar. I am a St Augustine local and was very excited to try out Nonna's when we spotted it walking around downtown. I read the reviews (most of which were excellent) and made reservations. The dinner started off with me ordering the Chianti and it came out smelling and tasting like the bottle had been open for two weeks. The waitress told me that the wine was "imported from Italy" and that maybe I just hadn't had that kind of Chianti before. Having been to Italy and sampled LOTS of Chianti, I was kind of offended but just bit my tongue and asked for a glass of Merlot instead. We then had the calamari which tasted like fried rubber bands. I found my jaw hurting from having to chew so much The menu was very limited and my husband and I both ordered the Osso Bucco. The description said it came with vegetables and risotto. It came out with over-seasoned, mushy, obviously frozen veggies, sauce right out of the jar, and rice (not risotto). The meat was tender, that's about the best thing I could say about the meal. Not only was the food bad but the waitress' boobs were popping out of her shirt and it was obvious she wanted to get us in/out as quick as possible. I hate to be rushed when I'm eating, even if it's bad food! Bottom line... don't be sucked in by the ambiance because the food is terrible.

The food here is no where near as good as it should be for these outrageous prices! Standard/ok at best. Will never recommend this place to anyone.

Great food and service.

Great. The food was good and the family made us feel at home. We went back several nights and recommended it to our friends. Two friends went to the restaurant and both said it was good. Aviles street is one of the reasons we like it. If the weather is good it is great to sit outside.

A nice outside dining experience. My wife and I have been to Nonna's several times. Every time we have had great foos and a delightful time. The food is excellent and reminds us of the times we visited Italy. True Southern Italian cooking!

They even prepared a special appetizer during one of our visits that was not on the menu!

We always make it a point to bring out of town friends to this friendly inviting, primarily outdoor, resturant on this little cobblestone street in the heart of St. Augustine.

The owner and his father are excellent resturant owners, and very hospitable. It is certainly worth the time to check out this resturant when you are in St. Augustine.

Bob and Patty Geib

La Dolce Vita " The Sweet Life". It was magic and love at first sight when I stumbled into Nonna's Trattoria. Every sensation is heightened at this place: smell, touch, sound, taste, and sight. Beautiful presentation of food. Sounds of Frank Sinatra singing in the background. Fragrant smells of food lingering from the inside to the outside cafe area. Wonderful Moscato wine that dances on the lips and the tongue. Wanted some Limoncello yet they did not have it. The owner, Adam, is a delight and a constant presence there. I felt like I was kind of in the middle of a foreign movie. Then again, Nonna's is on Aviles Street. The oldest street- mapped - in the nation. You get that old world feel just being there. I looked up some information on Nonna's Trattoria and this is what I found:

Nonna's Trattoria is named after a lady named Nonna Francesca-Paola Annaloro. Born in the year 1917, in Palermo Sicily. Every dish at Nonna's has been inspired or created by Nonna herself. She had the greatest passion for life, and it showed in her cooking abilities and her own way to keep the family close every night over for dinner. She certainly gave people the meaning of La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life), which basically means that there is more to life than just work and worries, as an individual and as part of our own family we have to look for and capture the sweet moment in life.

Dinner at Nonna's for daughter's birthday. Just finished dinner at Nonna's with my wife, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. It felt like we were home being served. There weren't many people in the restaurant this evening, maybe because it is a week night. My daughter and son-in-law discovered this restaurant on a walk this afternoon and we decided to return after a scenic boat trip. The food was excellent! Service was excellent! Very reasonable price for the quality of food! The street has a wonderful ambience. It was too cool to eat outside on the sidewalk, but we ate just inside the open door. A very good experience. Go and enjoy!

I was visiting St. Augustine for a wedding last week and Nonnas was recommended by the locals. I give it two thumbs up! service was excellent and the food was out of this world! the risotto rice ball was my favorite. The ambiance was very cool, you can see the chef cooking your food right in front of you. Overall I highly recommend this place, excellent service and great food. I will assure you, I will be back to try the rest of the menu.

The food was absolutely excellent and the staff was very friendly. They serve authentic Sicilian dishes that I have not seen anywhere else in North Florida like the rice ball and the cauliflower with pasta. They were delicious!!

Yummy. Even though the restaurant has only been open for about a month it felt like it's been there forever. the food was great and they had very unique dishes. my favorite was the cauliflower pasta with pine nuts and raisins. many of the dishes are family recipes. the service was attentive and everyone was very friendly. i'll be returning to st. augustine in january and this will be one of my first stops.

AMAZING!!!. We ended up at Nonna's on accident and ended up being one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! We were going to Ale works but because the wait was an hour and we had our 9 month old we decided to look for something else. As we were walking by looking at the menu a couple sitting in the window gave a huge thumbs up to eat there. We sat at an outdoor table on the sidewalk with a beautiful view of the street. The server (also the owner) made the dining experience as close to being in Italy as possible. My uncle from england was with us and has been to Italy several times said the food was just as good if not better than actually being there. The chicken parm was to die for and so was the calamari and mozzarella caprese. The house red wine was delcious. It wasn't overpriced either. The desserts were heaven. We had a party of five so we ordered several things and shared. This dinner made the entire weekend and we were so glad we stumbled upon it! For the bad review on here about the food being tasteless and said to avoid like the plague either has salt as a major food group or clearly does not know good food! Of course when new restaurants open they do have a rough night or 2 so maybe they got them on one of those nights because that it so far from the dining experience I had
Carol
Fantastic Evening. My husband, myself, our daughter, son-in-law, grandson and uncle had dinner here. It was, to say the least, absolutely fantastic! It's situated on a beautiful, quaint side street and offers inside or outside (sidewalk) dining. The owner, who served us personally, was a most gracious host.
The house red wine, which was a blend, was wonderful. The food, from the appetizers to the desserts, was fabulous. Hubby and I split a chicken parmigiana and we couldn't finish it. If you visit St. Augustine, you must eat here!

A TASTE OF HOME. I recently returned from a visit to St Augustine and I must say TRULY AUTHENTIC!! I live in New York and am a true foodie. I am half italian and love great food. The rice balls taste just like my grandmother used to make. If this place can seal the deal with an authentic Rice Ball then they really hit it out of the ball park. The atmosphere is very Tuscan looking with beautiful handpainted murals on the wall. The owner is very hospitable and makes you feel like you are at your grandmas no wonder it is called NONNA's. I will definately be back!!!

Worst ever. Had dinner here on a Saturday night with my girlfriend. The menu is very limited. We asked for ice tea but the waitress said it wasn't ready, so we went with sodas. I ordered the spaghetti and my friend had the lasagna. No bread was offered while we were waiting. Both dishes were bland and tasteless. Both of us agreed that we prepare better food at home. We sat inside and were the only diners. The kitchen is right next to the tables and open. The acoustics are so terrible that just filling a glass with ice in the back of the restaurant makes conversation difficult in the front. For 2 dishes and no wine we paid $38.00. This place is beyond terrible. I know it's new and was expecting some rough edges, but serving tasteless food at high prices deserves harsh criticism. The owners/managers don't know what they are doing, and are just there to take tourist money. Places like this are bad for the city's reputation, especially in such a prime location. Avoid like the plague.
