We went on Sunday afternoon. No other customers. This place has had mixed reviews. What we ate was fine. Hushpuppies, seafood gumbo. I got a baked potato and they loaded it up for me. My daughter enjoyed the jalapeño poppers. She said almost as good as another restaurant in town. Ashley was great! Very warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is wonderful. I included pictures.
We had breakfast here on our first morning. We were quickly seated and ordered coffee. I had the Meat Lovers omelet. Portions are a little light for the money but there aren't many eat-in places on the island. Great service.
This year was the first time we had a chance to eat at the restaurant. The last two years we were too fluid with family coming and going that we had to do takeout.
We enjoyed everything we ate. There are a few things left we haven't tried and look to next year.
Michelle was an amazing waitress and was amazingly patient with all our minions(kids). Thank you to her and the entire crew for taking such good care of us all.
When I arrived, at 2:30ish, I was the only customer, and that was a little off-putting to me. Frankly, I was wondering just how bad the food was. (By the time I got my food, there were 4 other tables.)
I ordered a cup of Brunswick Stew, a basket of hush puppies, and a pork stuffed potato.
While the Brunswick Stew was not my definition of Brunswick Stew, I'd call it something else, but whatever it's called, it's delicious! The hush puppies were good. The pork stuffed potato was excellent, the pork was great! Service was excellent and very friendly!
We made a day trip to SGI and decided to get dinner before heading home. Once we were seated, Michelle was attentive and helpful. The food came out fast, fresh, and delicious! The fresh Gulf shrimp was the best I've had in a long time. We will definitely be back!
My husband had the fried chicken tender dinner with fries. The chicken was moist and tender and a large portion. I had the house salad and a side of fries. The side of fries was large enough for several people.
Our server was friendly and very attentive. Definitely going back again.
There were only a couple of tables filled when we got there for breakfast even though the front parking lot had more cars than that. It quickly filled with people. Sign said wait to be seated but the waitress said sit wherever you want. Michelle came right over and took our drink order. Brought coffee quickly and then asked if we were ready to order. I had the Veggie omelet. Veggies were fresh. Portions were plenty. Hubby had a two egg breakfast and added a waffle. They have a skilled cook and everything tasted wonderful and came quickly. Prices are reasonable for island prices. Not Huddle House prices but this is St. George. Two eggs with choice of meat and toast was $7.50. $3 for bottomless coffee. We will be coming back! Thanks for a good experience.
We had the small rib dinner and garlic Parm wing basket. Ribs were good sized and flavor was good. Green beans and potato salad were also good. My wife had the wings and said the garlic flavor was delicious.
Great breakfast. We had an omelet, a bagel breakfast sandwich, sausage gravy over biscuits, and a waffle with strawberries & whipped cream. All were delicious. Coffee was very good. Our server (Ciara or Sierra) was friendly, with coffee refills and other odds & ends as we needed. I have no hesitation to highly recommend the BEACH PIT!!!
This place is fine. Apparently the only place that serves breakfast on the island. BBQ sandwich isn't too bad. Has good smoke favor. We also had the oyster po boy and shrimp po boy. The oysters and shrimp were delicious and perfectly fried, but the sandwiches themselves were pretty plain.
This place was recommended by Diane, who works morning shift in the kitchen. We came from North Carolina with a big party. Got there in time for dinner and had everything from the BBQ sampler to the seafood platter. Everything tasted great, cooked and seasoned to perfection! Our waitress was Mallory and she was friendly, energetic, and stayed on top of our drinks and needs. We missed Diane, but tell her she was right!! Great establishment!!
Food was great. Service was great. We were seated right next to the bar, and a local drunk was sitting there cursing, being loud, obnoxious, and drunk right infront of my 5 small children. He was also coughing all over the place and blowing his nose, which I feel shouldn't be done in front of people trying to eat. If he were not present, this place would have definitely gotten 5 stars all around.
