My wife and I saw this place when we went on the Patriot Cruise tour and decided to check it out. We were definitely pleased with our decision. We sat right on the dock and watched the boats pass as we ate. Great atmosphere! Our service was phenomenal and the food was absolutely amazing. We went with a dozen of the large blue crabs, fried shrimp, fried clam strips, soft shell crabs and we washed it all down with some grapefruit crushed. The blue crabs, although very expensive (125 bucks for a dozen), were some of the best crabs I've ever had. The shrimp and clamp strips were very flavorful and I tried soft shell crabs for the first time. It was different but I enjoyed it. If you're in the St Michael's area you definitely have to give this place a try. Sit out on the dock and enjoy the scenery!
Fun and casual atmosphere. Servers are attentive and polite. The Crabs are fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They have a good menu selection offering a nice selec tion of seafood. There is ample seating and a bar, all with a lovely view.
Yeah, atmosphere by the dock is awesome. Beautiful scenery. The food is nothing special and incredibly overpriced. The staff are always very friendly though.
Fantastic view right on the water with great, friendly staff.
Don't expect much on other dishes than seafood. Chicken extremely dry & lacking flavor & terrible coleslaw.
For the $$ the sides were ridiculously small, cocktails very weak, was impressed with amount of crablegs, throw some old bay on those for a winner.
Lovely local crab shack to eat on the water. Food is good quality and you’ll have a good time. Make sure to make a reservation and don’t expect the best service on the weekends when they’re slammed.
Love the Crab Claw. A long time favorite. Things have dropped off here a bit though. Service was strained. I would expect better experience for the prices charged. The food WAS delicious however. If you're willing to put up with slow, clunky service, still a gem.
Restaurant is right on the water with great views. We had no wait for a nice table. The oysters were very large. It was my first time eating soft shell crabs and they were tasty. The potato salad was very good. I will give a big thumbs up for the green beans.
Outside dining was packed. The wait was maybe 45 minutes. So we opted for inside dining. Still not disappointed, because the view was spectacular. Food was good and service was great.
Has the charm of a crab house restaurant that overlooks the docks and water. Very busy. Service staff is polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Table is bussed regularly as you finish your courses. I really like the small sterno butter warmers that prevents congealed, cold butter. Over all The Crab Claw gets the crabs to the table in reasonable time. Your food doesn't sit under a heat strip drying up. Well organized. Fresh crabs. Crabs were large, heavy, piping hot, good flavor and about market price: $126 a dozen for large. I wouldn't recommend mediums unless you like spiders. (The larges are about equivalent to the old medium size of about 20 years ago). I also ordered the four count 2lb snow crab clusters for $60ish. These are not the specialty here. Very disappointed. Body meat was slightly malodorous, very dry, salty and did not hold it's texture. To me it was clearly a frozen product. The leg meat on average was okay. It pulled from the shell somewhat easy. A few legs were stringy, dry and had slight odor. I strongly advise against the clusters. No my money was not refunded but the steamer will be made aware. I am sure, had I made a "stink" about the clusters the manager would have done more. Overall, stay with the crabs, their specialty.
Perfect crab picking and seafood spot. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Saturday and got a table on the water right away. Had great clams on the half shell and blue crabs.
