We have not been here since it opened. I remember the food being okay at the time but I was a bit weirded out by the Elvis shrine like seating area. This time we were in the cars, hubcap ceiling and tail light wall area. I liked this over the endless images of Elvis. Still, the restaurant is a lot. You walk into the foyer and there is the trunk of a vehicle as a table/display. Visually, it is a lot of restaurant.
The food was generous and tasty. The queso was upgraded. The upgrade was weird. It had a base of refried beans which isn't what I read on the menu. The guac was sitting on a bed of shredded lettuce which was dumped into the cheese. That was just odd to me. Hot, soggy, limp lettuce. There wasn't a lot but it was a weird choice. Outside of that, the queso was good and very, very, very hot (heat). I was impressed by the steaming hot cheese and how long it stayed that way.
Salsa is given to the table. It was fresh, as were the chips. It was also spicy hot but delicious. The chips were very thin which caused some breakage issues. I like thin chips like this.
I got the fajita tacos. I asked for no peppers. I got no onions and all peppers. They switched it around and brought it right back without issue. It was a nice little dish. The rice was meh. The refried beans were tasty. The other sides are fresh and generous.
All told, it was a nice little Tex-Mex experience.
Complimentary chips are very thin, light and crispy. Salsa is fresh and chunky. Big on flavor, not spicy. Thin white sauce comes with chips and salsa. Has a ranch like flavor base, very good.
Skinny margarita comes in one size. The grande feels more of a regular size. Flavor is good.
I had the panchos which is what they call nachos with meat. The chips were thick, large sections of fried corn tortillas. Fajita beef was good but rather sparse. Heavy on melted cheese and pickled jalapeño slices added, medium hot. The hot sauce ordered on the side was mediocre.
Will return to try other dishes
We really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere is fun and unique. The food is tasty. The service was outstanding. The portions are massive. All of this added up to a very nice dining experience. Definitely more Tex-Mex than straight Mexican, but still really good. All the standards are represented and executed well. Their sauces and salsa are fresh and delicious. Our waitress was on the spot with fresh, hot chips and water refills. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were huge. Bring you appetite, and enjoy!
Excellent dinner tonite. Arthur our server was top notch . He was great. Good was delicious and came out quick. We enjoyed everything a d will definitely return soon! Thanx for an awesome first time experience
The food is good, predictable. Minus one star for having only refried beans - no black beans on the menu. It makes me think it's all coming out of a can. I can open a can at home. So why go out to eat?
I love this place... food is consistently excellent, the service is outstanding, and the ambience is very pleasant. The tortilla chips that they bring to the table when you arrive are light, crisp and probably the best I have ever tasted. I have never had to wait more than 20 seconds to be seated. And the wait staff is attentive and very polite. I usually order the Elvis Presley Commemorative platter -- and it is absolutely perfect every time. Highly recommended.
You know, I haven't been to a Chuy's that I didn't like, and this is no exception. The place has amazing food and service, and the Mexican martini is legendary.
They got some nice seating indoors and outdoors for all weathers, and the nachos are on point. Excellent place for groups.
We ordered fajitas. Everything was delicious. Margaritas were very strong.
The salsa they brought as appetizer was very spicey.
My brother asked for mild one but they didn't have any.
Beans were amazingly delicious. The service was exceptional.
I really recommend this place .
I have never missed a meal here on my trip to VA. Love this chain and the food. I do miss th combo platters they used to serve. None the less, hands down to the quality and the portion size of Chuy’s. Good cocktails!
Their steak fajita nachos were excellent. The salsa has a little bit of a kick. Service was great!
Nice restaurant to get some delicious Tex-Mex food .. went there for a dinner with family and had nice food , drinks and desert experience.. our waitress Maria was excellent in customer service .. Kudos 👏👏.. would definitely revisit again in future .
Fresh, authentic, savory Tex Mex food in a clean, friendly, upbeat atomosphere. These folks are NOT afraid to bring the heat. Best steak burrito ever!
Chuy’s has very nice design in their restaurants and I love it. Their plates are also very large so you will be full for sure. Only problem is, food takes little longer than other places, I went there for lunch break and I was late when I got back:) I tried their mix plate menu by waiter’s suggestion and I like it. I will go back when I don’t have limited time.
You should try them if you want to have nice lunch and dinner.
4 stars!
This chuys is great. Good service and kept the chips and drinks coming.
