We love coming to Tamarind - some of the best north Indian food in the area! The restaurant came under new ownership (last year) and you can really see and taste the difference! We actually hosted a dinner here in their party room and the service was great. They have some kinks to work out, as all new restaurants do, but the owners are very open to feedback and truly make you feel part of the family. Must get the Rasmalai!!
Went to this restaurant for dinner with a couple of friends. The ambiance is really nice, food was great, good quantity.
We ordered
Apollo fish, this dish was really yummy
Hakka noodles, this was close to Indian but a little too much salt for my liking
Sheekh Kabab, was good but a little dry, we got Naan along with this and it was nice and fresh
Do not order chicken biryani it was way below average!!!!!
Over all the restaurant is great, well priced and nice for Indian food!!!
Delicious Indian food at an affordable price. There was variety and the severs are attentive and accommodating. This place is a gem especially for Loudoun County. I loved how they had a naan variety basket, something that I haven’t see others do.
Food: In terms of taste and authenticity, it’s more than awesome! The rice served with dal makhani was done in ghee, and was perfect in color, shape and softness. Dal makhani had an awesome creamy smooth taste. Two complains: they do not heat the dessert (carrot halwa or gulag jamun) and, they do not give cutlery (no spoons and forks - eh!)
Price: Well here’s how they play - they slightly over price everything. The portions are good enough, but the price (a bit) high, but I’d give heads up for it for the taste and authenticity.
Overall, I see myself ordering from here every evening (PS they have a 35$ min requirement)
We a decent experience at Tamarind for dinner. The starters were good but the main course which was chicken tikka masala was really tangy where you could clearly feel tomato purée was used or the prep was pre made.
The food was excellent, and the service by the host lady was phenomenal. It was my first time eating Indian food and they did everything possible so I could have a great experience. I will absolutely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.
Best chicken 65 and pepper chicken we had in a while. Love their limited lunch menu. Butter chicken was awesome.
This is the best local Indian restaurant we've tried! There are a few restaurants closer, but its worth the extra 10 minute drive to this place. Beware... the medium level is still pretty spicy. I've been eating Indian food since I was a kid and my mouth was on fire. But it was still delicious! And the portions are bigger than anywhere else. You basically get two meals for one. We got the Tikka and the Korma and both sauces had good flavor. My husband and I always order samosas when we try a new Indian restaurant (that's how we judge if it's going to be good or not) and they were perfectly cooked! We'll definitely be back :)
This place is consistent and very good. I always just get the mild butter chicken, garlic naan, and Samosas. Friendly service!
The restaurant was clean, had good ambiance, and good food. The staff was friendly. I wish they have more vegetarian choices for appetizers other than that good experience.
Been there for a lunch buffet with family. Restaurant was clean and ambience was nice.
Buffet had fair number of items and almost every dish was very tasty. Even our 2 year old kid was able to eat many of them. No over spice or saltiness, perfect to taste. Price felt a bit on the high note but was worth a visit. Will definitely visit again n again.
A great place for Indian food. Not a single thing on the menu disappoints and we've been there many times, and tried many items.
The food quality has been consistent over past several months. Their appetizers are great, they ready the food on time, the staff is friendly.
