A staple Mexican restaurant in the heart of Stockton's downtown. Consistently good ol' school traditional Mexican food I like how they incorporate flour and corn tortillas in the chip basket. The salsa has a nice heat to it. I had a chicken taco and the chicken was a bit too fried for my taste. The beef enchilada was good, just a bit salty. Hubby had the beef quesadilla dinner which he enjoyed, and it was filling. The restaurant was crowded and the servers were busy so they weren't very attentive. It's a mainstay establishment, so I'm sure we'll return someday.
The most amazing Mexican food ever. I have been going to this place for most of my life and have never had a bad meal. I just Wish I still Lives in town.. but know that any chance I have To get some delicious salsa and food I do! 🤤🥰🙌🏼🔥
Great food for the value. I had the #4 and horchata. The drink was not powdery, and the flour tortillas handmade.
I've been going to the Xochimilco Cafe every chance I get for the past 40 years. I start going in 1980 and I order the same meal, the #11 Chicken Enchilada, Beef Taco, Rice & Beans. It's made the same way Everytime. I've never had a bad meal in all those years. Service is great. You won't be disappointed.

Xochimilco’s serves fabulous authentic Mexican cuisine. Their salsa is the perfect amount of spicy! My absolute favorite menu item is their chili verde. Plus, the tortillas are handmade. Don’t let the location of the restaurant deter you from going.
Overall, it’s a great place and I’m glad it’s still around!
First of all Stockton has some of the best Mexican Restaurants. It's good if they've been at the same location forever!
Xochimilco Cafe is one of these restaurants. Put what you know of Mexican food aside and enjoy their amazingly seasoned, moist, flavorful food.
Did I mention you get a good portion and their tacos are filled with lots of meats. I seem to end up getting #3 All Chicken Combo , warning though, it does come with s small portion chile verde and chile colorado. This is a big combo plate what comes with fried taco shell, enchilada, and chile relleno. It's a hearty, stomach filling order!
If you go during the week, park in the back, in the public parking lot and bring your parking stub inside to get a half hour discount on your parking. If you go on the weekends, park on the street.
Great old school style Mexican restaurant. Fresh made, delicious flour tortillas. Excellent enchiladas. Very good rice. Huge tacos. Chile rellenos are good but even better sauce. Ranchero is delicious too.
