Every time we go to Japaneiro's we are treated so well. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, also the food is amazingly delicious, everytime. I could not be happier with them. So friendly. Thank you Steven Victor ( Victory) you are my favorite waiter.
Can’t say enough great things about Japaneiros. We planned an outdoor rehearsal dinner but had to ditch the outdoor idea due to possible rain. We contacted Quino (GM) with Japaneiros less than a WEEK before my wedding to plan a rehearsal dinner party for 42 people and it was the best decision we ever made. Quino and his catering staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us and made it a very successful dinner. It was located in Japaneiros new event space, walking distance from the restaurant, located where The Ginger Mule used to be. The event space is beautiful! The servers and bartender were attentive and friendly; the food was absolutely delicious and we received so many compliments during the party about how great it was! Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would highly recommend anyone having a private event to have it catered by Japaneiros in their new event space!!
Customer service was great. The place was packed and my time was limited. They did everything possible to get my order fast, waiter had good recommendation, and staff was real attentive. Sushi was delicious!

Stayed home from work today cause I'm sick. Suffice to say, I wasn't really up to go out and forage for food. Feeling like crud made me want some comfort food so I decided to order the blackened sea bass from here through door dash. Well, about 10 or so minutes before the door dash driver was at my house, I get a call from Jason at Japaneiro's saying that the driver left without the risotto rice that came with the meal. Well, I was admittedly disappointed... Specially when the door dash guy said he didn't have time to go back and retrieve my missing meal portion. I talked with Jason again, and he did try to offer some alternatives to comp me for my meal. But being off today set me back a few work days so I wasn't sure when I'd be able to to the restaurant and get comp'd... I also explained that I was too sick to leave my house. So he worked with GM and made sure someone from their staff brought my food over. Mistakes happen, but I definitely felt great customer service came out of an unfortunate mishap and this sick, bedridden girl, really appreciated yalls effort in getting my food to me lol.

I love Japaniero's! Their food is amazing & so is their staff. The manager Jason is very hands on. We ordered fried Oreos for dessert one time & he had a worker go down to their other restaurant, Guru Burgers to get them so that we could have them. He went above & beyond. Their fish is fresh, rolls are amazing & seafood chips is out of this world!!!
Loved the ambiance and friendly service. The food was AMAZING and the sushi was fresh! I love the fusion of Asian and Latin food.. something different and unique. Would definitely go back!!! I had the salmon tostadas, the dumplings which had an Amazing sauce! And the millionaire roll! Everything was exceptional!

Pros first:
Sushi and sashimi are super fresh and so tasty. We had the Texas roll (favorite) and a shaggy dog, along with 8 pc of Hamachi (yellow tail) and 2pc of Namesake salmon nigiri. As a former vegan, I do have to mention that I was very impressed with an entire section of the menu offering vegan options! Great job Japaneiro’s!!
We also enjoyed their cold lychee sake.
We sat at the sushi bar and were seated right away, and our server was super attentive and friendly! I’m usually great with names, so please forgive me for not remembering hers, but I know it started with a J 🤦🏻♀️
Anyways… overall the atmosphere is a little loud for my taste, so if you’re wanting a quiet “romantic” dinner, sadly I would have to say this is not that vibe, but for a group of friends or a casual dinner, (which was us tonight) where you don’t mind the noise, this is your place!!
The decor is very nice and trendy! And bathrooms are very clean!
Overall I’d give it a 9.2/10!

I came here for a lunch date for my first date with this guy I met. Right away I was amazed at the service that Lauren gave us. She was great at suggestions for lunch and absolutely nailed the suggestions to eat. I loved everything she suggested. She was great at customer service and always checked our water. I would highly recommend this restaurant for sushi. I haven’t found anything in Houston that measures up their sushi. Go see Lauren. She is great
Vibe- This is another nice restaurant in Sugar Land Town Square by First Colony Mall. There’s seating outside and plenty of seating inside (including a bar). Very nice ambiance; would be a nice date night spot !
Customer service- Great!
Food/drinks- I got a pomegranate margarita (4/5)and plantain chips (5/5 🤤)during happy hour (everyday 3-6) and a vegan Sunkist roll(4/5); everything was good.
Parking- There’s a garage with free parking right by the restaurant!
I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this place. We’ve been coming here since it opened many many years ago. They still have my staples (Hawaiian roll, dumplings with amazing sauce, and avocado soup). It’s all about the avocado soup. I’m pretty sure this is what got me eating avocado. The service is actually improving in my opinion. My husband and I just went for happy hour and had a great experience. Our waitress was fast and very sweet. We usually avoid dinner due to how busy it gets, but if you can make it on a weekday before six they have great HH options. It’s a must try even if you’re not in the Sugat Land area.
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner on a Monday for our anniversary. The sushi was fresh and delicious; the Pretty Kitty drink was amazing; and Adrianna was an awesome, attentive, and engaging server who kindly surprised us with dessert on the house for our celebration. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to come back.

Always enjoy this restaurant. Asian/Latin fusion. You can get anything from Sushi to Churassco. Something for everyone. Great food, pleasant atmosphere, good service. There is also valet parking.
Shame on me for never leaving a review here before. This restaurant puts most others to absolute shame. The mix of Asian and Latin cuisines is a perfect union. Their happy hour is truly bliss. The mojito was on point. The mango bliss was delightful. We ordered several spicy mix rolls, and they were awesome. We haven’t been here in years, and we asked for the crazy Irishman. Our server Ross (who was super nice) told us it hadn’t been on the menu in awhile, but they were able to make it for us, and it was like heaven on a plate. You cannot come here without ordering the avocado cream soup - it is worth coming for all on its own. This is one of the best restaurants in Houston, and that’s a tough competition to win.
Serves some excellent shaggy dogs rolls, the best in Houston if I might add, and that's not exaggerating. The shrimp dumplings were awesome as well, and just melted in our mouths. The money rolls were also equally tasty, though it has the raw salmon in it. We also drank a mocktail with turmeric and ginger.
This place has some of the most amazing sushi rolls I have had in the area. It's a fun sushi place with some latin flavor.
Started off with some miso soup and yuca fries with a red pepper sauce. The soup was flavorful and the yuca fries were light crispy on the outside but soft in the inside and sauce was absolutely amazing. Followed that with the New Zealand roll a which was some of the best sushi I have had. The flavors and the presentation are 10 out of 10. My husband had the Money roll, which he says is the best sushi he has ever had and he even lived in Japan for a few years...this place is 5 stars for sure!!!! It's got great drinks and everything is very decently priced!! One roll was plenty for lunch. We will be back for sure.
Sugar Land…we have a problem…the food was incredible and I could not eat any more!! Talk about freshness and well balanced cuisine. What a great fusion concept with perfect decor and friendly, attentive staff! Prices were on point and the location was perfect! They have lunch specials, drinks, and a great variety of food to accommodate. Come check them out if your in the Southwest area and enjoy the City Hall area for shopping and fun! ChowChow Time!!!
4⭐️ at best. Service and staff was friendly and great. I think the food could be better. Lot of choices for sushi including vegetarian options. Worth a try if in the sugar land town center area and looking for a quick decent sushi meal.
There’s always a lot of people in this restaurant which means the food is generally good and fresh (important for raw fish).
The food is a fusion of Japanese and Latin cuisine. Highly recommend the Torch Truffle Salmon Nigiris during the happy hours!
Below are the things we have tried:
- Truffle Salmon Nigiris: Favorite dish
- Spicy Sugarland: Not bad
- Paradise: Just OK, too much rice
- Shrimp Diablo: Not bad, too much mayonnaise for my liking
There are several sushi options with cream cheese which I don’t like (just like some people who don’t like pineapple in pizza).
During the peak hours you might have to wait to get seated. We usually avoid that.
Great Japanese and latin fusion restaurant with fresh tasty offerings and warm hospitality. Everything came quick and was presented nicely. The flavor was definitely there on all dishes. I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.
Waited about 30 minutes for a table. We ordered food right away and our steamed dumplings came out quickly, they were delicious!
Our sushi rolls were also very good, but taking away a star because it took almost an hour for us to get our food. Service was good as well.
Japaneiro's Sushi Bistro + Latin Grill is the absolute BEST!!! My couple really wanted to have their rehearsal dinner here for their wedding party, family and maybe a few of their friends! The General Manager, Danielle Bloom, and her amazing staff Sarah and Lauren went out of their way to create a private patio area that included tablecloths, floating candles, and rose petals to accommodate 45 guests! Danielle, Sarah, and Lauren were extremely professional and so friendly with everyone, making sure their all of the guests were taken care of! The bride and groom were very appreciative of the attentiveness that they received and the one of a kind customer service from the beginning to the end of evening!! Thank you so much Japaneiro's for making such incredible memories for everyone! They are all still talking about their dinner, especially the sushi boats!! I will be recommending your restaurant to all my clients in the future! Bravo!!!
