We were looking for seafood but the seafood place in the same shopping center had a 2 hour wait. We came over here and sat right down. They had fried seafood and it was really good. We had clam, shrimp and flounder. It was all very good. I really loved the hush puppy like things they had. The sides were just standard but ok. Very friendly staff.
What can I say about this place but simply outstanding. I got half rack of ribs, some brisket, and potato salad. My wife got the pulled pork nachos. The staff was incredible and attended our every need. This place is a gem, and we will definitely be back!
Their blackened prime rib sandwich is a 10/10. Very generous portion of juicy tender meat smothered in cheese. Incredibly satisfying after a long day swimming at the beach.
You could tell the staff was overwhelmed. My bbq chicken sandwich was great! I added a photo of the red neck nachos!
Absolutely bodacious! The service was top notch. The food was great. Typical (Carolina) BBQ with the usually fixings, like baked beans, slaw, mashed potatoes, etc. Christian themed, for the believers. But, not overwhelming, for non believers.
What was special about this one is the service. Jenny, my waitress, was more than excellent. She waited on me with professionalism in mind. Ordering was easy. She checked on me at appropriate times, never avoided nor bothered me
Hubby had ribs and I had ribeye, both were cooked perfectly. Lona was great at taking care making sure we got anything we needed! Definitely will be back for more! I would add photos but it didn't last long enough to get then as we dug right in!..next time I will do better !

Long story short, it's a great price and provides all the value for money. The staff was super friendly, the place was clean, and the food, while basic, was certainly very good. The little fried things they gave us as a appetizer, I think it was cornbread, or excellent. The pulled pork is Carolina style with the vinegar taste. It isn't to my liking, but I wanted to give it a try. The fried chicken though, I'll be thinking about that fried chicken for a while. It was excellent. So my recommendation? Don't let the warning that fried chicken will take 20 minutes Bother you. It takes that long because they make it fresh to order, and quite frankly, it was excellent. Did I mention the prices? I legitimately thought there was an error. The two of us got big plates of food, and got out of there for $26 plus tip. That is way too cheap for what we received! We actually have a whole other plate of leftovers for dinner tonight. Recommend it without hesitation. As a sidenote, don't let the boring exterior fool you. It looks like every other vinyl clad strip mall restaurant from the outside, but it really isn't. It's much nicer inside. Also check out their little gift shop.

THE BEST place to eat in Topsail. Arguably one of the best places to eat in North Carolina in my opinion. For the price, food, and experience, the value that Surf City BBQ provides to you and your family is indefinite. If Google would let me rate one hundred thousand stars, I would. The moment you step through their doors, you are greeted with a warm smile and open arms by some of the most loving, Godly, southern hospitality-providing women in town. After they guide you to your table, you are provided a hearty basket of some warm, tender hushpuppies. Not only are they free, they are DANG GOOD. As you are blessing your stomach with the complimentary, heavenly hushpuppies, you can browse Surf City BBQ's menu that is complete with everything you could ever imagine from brunswick stew to shrimp po-boys. We went with the brunswick stew, BBQ sandwich, fried okra, potato salad, barbecue chicken wings, and loaded potato skins. If our stomachs would allow it, we would order the entire menu. Our meal came out to a very economic price, especially in today's day and age of menu prices. Inflation is rising, but Surf City BBQ's prices sure aren't. If you are a local or just passing through, you don't want to miss out, hit up Surf City BBQ!
Came in 20 minutes before close for takeout and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. They honestly couldn’t have been more kind. Everything we had hit the spot and was a great value for the price. My stomach is full and my wallet isn’t empty because of it.
Incredible. This was the best experience we have ever had it didn’t even feel like going to a restaurant it felt like going to a good friend or neighbors house for dinner. The people are amazing the best service you will ever have and FOOD! The BBQ, fried chicken oh my gosh it was delicious and the best BBQ sauce and potato salad you will ever have. It makes you feel like you are in good company. I can’t wait to come back before I leave for some homemade jam to bring back to NY!
Great food, great prices, great people! We’ve been coming regularly on vacation since 2017. We went again last night and tried the fried chicken and the prime rib sandwich. Both were great. My husband said the sandwich was the best food he’s ever eaten anywhere! We love the sweet hush puppies, the pork, and the vinegar bbq sauce. Yum. It was so good we may have to stop twice this time around. Also, drinks were only $1 with your meal. We love that it is a Christian owned, family friendly atmosphere.
Great little spot before the bridge to Topsail. The menu is somewhat limited for a BBQ joint but we had the pulled pork was great. Slaw and green beans were good too. Definitely try the Redneck Nachos. You will not regret it! Their Carolina sauce was really good but I give the edge to their sweet honey bbq sauce which was totally amazing!
GREAT little spot! The prices are unbeatable! $1 drinks and a meat and 2 sides $11. Good size portions and good flavor. Visiting from TN and this will definitely be a go to from now on!
This restaurant has the best food! We order from here at least once a month and have never been disappointed 😊. Food is always fresh, hot, and delicious 😋
Great food. Awesome, juicy fried chicken. Great prices. A fried chicken dinner with two side’s and hush puppies was $11 which included tax! The best fried chicken we’ve ever had. Dee, our server was friendly, efficient and attentive to our dining needs. Didn’t have to chase her down for anything. Will be our new favorite comfort food stop. They are a Christian establishment that recognizes the constitution in several ways which is what this country needs. Very refreshing instead of feeling like we’re doing something wrong by exercising our rights. Great location to the beach! Definitely try them out!
Very delicious reasonably priced food & a cute gift shop that was a bonus whether you picking your food up or eating in - a must check kind of place if you’re vacationing!
This place is very welcoming and comfortable! Not to mention the food is filling and well priced! I was honestly very pleasantly surprised when we got a little tray of hush puppies to get us started! Everyone was very friendly, and our waitress Dee was even moreso, making our short stay very enjoyable!
