Review Lue Ella's Old Fashioned Bbq - Sweeny

Once again, in our travels, we have found that those "hole in the wall" mom and pop restaurants are the best!! Lue Ella's Old Fashioned BBQ has the best homemade food I have ever tasted. Although we ordered the chicken fried steak and hamburger steak lunch plates, the green beans had sliced brisket bits in it which added to that distinct taste. I highly recommend Lue Ella's Old Fashioned BBQ if you're in this small town of Sweeny, Texas.

Love the Oxtail Dinner. Their greens are on point and their macaroni is great as well. Don't forget the banana pudding. Comfortable atmosphere, great food, and great service. Will be returning again and again.

Don't know how many times I drove by this treasure and missed it. Finally spotted it today and checked the menu online, today the special was pit burgers with fries. I ordered 4 for the family and a side of onion rings, also my sweet tooth got the better of me and I got 2 orders of banana pudding and 2 of the fresh from the oven peach cobbler. Oh my goodness eveyone in the family enjoyed the food. This place has now gone on my list of favorite places to eat and it is way near the top. I can't wait to come in and try the ox tails and greens. Also I ate about half the fries before I took a picture, just couldn't make it to the table.

This is the type of place that helps give a small town character. Staff is super-nice and food is decent with a nice smoked taste. 2 meat plate portion sizes were fine and came with pickle and onion, but surprisingly not the old fashioned slice of white bread that most barbecue joints give you with your plate. Give them a try.

Amazing home cooked food! Portions were very generous and everything tasted like my gram had made it! So excited to have a great hometown business like this nearby!!! Go see Miss Olivia! You will be glad you did!!!

Pulled pork sandwich with fried okra was amazing. The Boudain balls were super good. Definitely recommend coming here. Also great small town atmosphere with a big heart.

Delicous home cooked meals. Cabbage was shockingly delicious as the green beans with grilled pork chops. Will come back to this hometown resturant. If you like sweet tea come here.

By far the best barbecue baked potato I have had in my life!!!

One word: Phenomenal!!!! My sister and I and our brother-in-law ate there on a whim. My sister and I are not from Texas so we tried the boudin balls for the first time. Delicious!! We had fried pickles which were wonderful. I had baked potato with chicken BBQ that melted in your mouth. Both ladies we talked to were super nice and very kind answering all our questions about what is a boudin ball and how to eat it. Next time I hope to try the banana pudding! Make sure you eat there. You will not be disappointed!!
