So what can I say it's one of those places if you know someone you can get a seat. After working the Taste of Syracuse event for 2 days, almost 10 hours each day and the client wanted to reward the staff with a dinner and said we should try Prime. at the door the host told us they had no seats for our group of 6 and going to refuse us service when the client asked for Danny by name where he got us a seat immediately and we had a rather delightful meal the seafood tower was delicious and the surf and turf was on point even if I ordered it medium well. I know, don't hate me. So lucky for us, our guy knew a guy that was the owner, or we never would have had such a yummy meal.

the steak is quite excellent. five stars. i was mildly confused when our server asked us if we wanted anything to drink (wine) three times. i'm glad she checked because some people may feel anxious to ask for alcohol and giving them the opportunity to order some may help. while that may be the case for others, it is definitely not what we needed. i'm a recovering alcoholic and underage, and the other person (out of three) needed to drive. one person at our table ordered one glass of wine before we ordered appetizers. perhaps she was trying to check on him first and then would double check with us too. i don't hold anything against the server, in fact i wouldn't know how to go about the situation myself if i was a server or manager. not the slightest clue. it's a strange predicament and i don't blame anyone for how it was handled. the service was excellent. i appreciate how patient our server was, given the energy at the table. she was great with showing us the menu options and had an impressive knowledge of wine. if i had money to pitch in for the tip, i would have doubled it. she deserved it. the atmosphere is good. i really appreciated the interior of that building and i loved that the restaurant was in the basement. i was mildly uncomfortable with the atmosphere several times. i grew up in some hardcore poverty, and i barely knew how to hold myself many times. i tried to remember how the kids stood and sat when they were being "proper" in the privileged public school i went to. i kept thinking about how different it was to be able to be there, compared to how i lived when i was homeless. good restaurant. if you can afford it, try the NY strip steak.

Great place for a nice dinner out. Wine list is slanted towards California wines. Cocktail list was quite nice and a good selection of bourbons. The tuna and the steaks were wonderful as were the biscuits and the pumpkin cheesecake.

Up in Syracuse for the 2021 NYS Association of Fire Chiefs annual convention. Always ask the locals for recommendations of places to eat and Prime Steakhouse was suggested multiple times. Decided to give it a try. On the way asked someone outside how the place was, turned out we met Danny the owner, awsome guy. He got us a table in the bar right outside the wine vault. Such a great atmosphere here, the staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. I can personally recommend the surf and turf. Will definitely be coming back when we are back in town. Updated for 2022.. Back for the NYS Association of Fire Chiefs Convention again. Once again, Prime Steakhouse doesn't disappoint. Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. This is the place to check out when in Syracuse. Danny made friends for life. Updated for 2023... Back again and this time I brought my whole crew of 9 including myself. We raved so much about Prime that the rest of our crew had to experience it themselves when we came for the 2023 Fire Chiefs Convention. They did not disappoint. Amazing and attentive staff, Emily was on point and made the experience memorable. Definatly a must every year we are in town.

Get the steak with their sautéed mushrooms. The sautéed mushrooms they have are out of this world. Service is great. Ginger, the waitress, took good care, and Maggie, the bartender, paid attention to all the customers and ensured that they were looked after. Pricing is a little higher than usual for syracuse, but it's worth it.

I love the atmosphere. It's so intimate, cozy and traditional supper club/lounge esque. I had emailed and messaged on the fbook for reservations but did not get responses. So I decided to wing it and showed up at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. We were worried that it was closed, no host on the dining side. But I wandered over to the bar side and found smiling staff. Every staff person was so professional and helpful and friendly. Our server, Gabby, was amazing. We were seated right away. Drinks, appetizer, main course, sides - all perfect. Okay, full disclosure, we didn't care for the biscuit bread starter but it was easily overlooked. Great wine menu too. My favorite part? THE FILET MIGNON. It melted with every bite. Probably the best steak I've ever had. The sweet corn creme brulee was so delicious and unique. And thanks to Gabby and the other server that brought our butter cake out with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to my SO. My picky self would've changed some minor stuff like the surge protector power strip that was at our window. The inside of the table lamp had some splatter of something. Or that the water in the tabletop tulips had some mold in it.

Visiting Syracuse for a convention. Prime was one of the most recommended spots to eat. We ate at one of the tables in the bar and the food and staff was excellent. Before we went in the owner introduced himself and ensured that we were taken care of. Will definitely be visiting Prime Steakhouse next time we are here.

Second time in the city. I came across this incredible steak house. Danny the owner is super nice and amazing to make you feel at home and welcome. The piano on the patio is an excellent amenity, which make you feel the best time possible....William Torres

It isn’t called prime steakhouse for nothing! It certainly lives up to its moniker. The prime rib I got was absolutely perfect. A melt in your mouth tender medium rare. The au jus and roasted garlic and tomato on the side added a variety to the pallette and the acidy of the tomato helped cut some of the fattiness of the prime rib. The au jus wasn’t overpowering at all and only added to depth to something that already tasted amazing on its own. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We got seated right away and drinks came out fast as well. The manhattan I got was nicely mixed. Not too bitter and not too sweet and on the strong side. All in all its a great place to take clients or just to enjoy a great steak. Pricey but worth it.

Excellent customer service, the food was great, just the parking area were my concern because it goes by timer meter so make sure you add enough money so you don't get a ticket. After 6pm the parking meters are free, so you can enjoy a Nice dinner.

The young lady that took care of our table was new but great! My food was delicious. The calamari wasnt as flavorful as most places but still not bad. My steak and bleu salad was absolutely delicious! Definitely coming back!

The food was very good. the lobster bisque was to dieeeeee for...However, I got the most expensive steak on the menu and for $71 it was a bit underwhelming. Our Server, Sabrina, was fantastic- she is a true professional and I couldn't believe it was her first week working at this particular restaurant. I felt that she was extremely confident, knowledgeable, and so kind and friendly. Excellent service, Sabrina! You are an asset to Prime Steakhouse!
