Reviews Big Dip

It was our first time here, we came during an ice cream crawl through Syracuse. We tried 7 ice cream shops in the area, and Big Dip was by far our favourite one. The employees were SO friendly, the location is adorable, and all of the ice cream we tried was great. They have a huge selection, with lots of fun and unique desserts to try. A lot of times ice cream stands have pretty much the same menu, but they had lots of different items here that we haven't seen anywhere else. That alone would keep us coming back, but the quality of everything was really good too. Prices also fair!

I've brought my kid here twice in the same weekend after their recital. My experiences were that staff was very friendly, polite, and professional. The soft serve in my opinion is the way to go here. It is one of the best soft serves in the area after having gone to over 6+ different ice cream places from Oswego to Syracuse. Onto the taste: My kid got the berry twist with sprinkles, kiddie size and I got the chocolate vanilla twist with sprinkles, kiddie size. My kid turned me into a fan of the berry twist. Their soft serve texture is great. I think the chocolate could use some help with their recipe if it's homemade. Chocolate feels like it's missing a little more of a chocolate bite if that makes any sense. Vanilla is pretty on point. Prices are comparable to other spots within 20 minutes and may be a little higher. IMO the flavor variety of their soft serve makes it worth it as well as their texture of creamy, smooth, soft-serve goodness Prime spot near driver's village! Thanks for being here.

Forever our favourite ice cream! So good, even my family back home in Canada gets excited when I tell them they've opened for the season. Never had one dish we didn't like from there, so go wild! I swear their ice cream got me through my pregnancy 😂. My only wish would be that they would be open for more months during the year. Hate going to DQ to get my winter ice cream fix. Thanks for keeping this place open – from your biggest fans!

Classic ice cream stand with reasonable prices. I had the chocolate & peanut butter twist with chocolate sprinkles; it was amazing! Also, very serious napkins capable of handling melting ice cream.

I live in Ca. I lived in NY as a child. We have to go to Big Dip when we travel to NY in our RV. I was not disappointed. I was very happy to see they are open and creating memories for local families!!

We discovered this ice cream shop this past season and it quickly became our favorite in the area! They have the best shakes! They also have lots of variety which can be intimidating but also yummy! Our favorite item on the menu is the mystery bag which gives you two surprise ice creams, it’s a fun way to try different things without trying hassle of trying to decide what to try. Highly recommend this place

Stopped for strawberry milkshake for relative who is hospitalized. Real strawberries and it was put in a container with ice in the bottom so it would be cold for our I'll family member.

Maybe our favorite ice cream spot. Everything is so delicious and service is great. Lots of places to sit! And they have hot dogs! Pictured are a small flurry and a baby hard mint.

Very nice people. Great ice cream. This is the place to go for ice cream on the cone in a cup or in a banana split boat.

You, like me, young patron, have been searching for peanut butter soft-serve ice-cream at every stand in the area (conveniently located closest to you and only when you get the craving for it). But you just can't seem to find it anywhere. Then Wham! There it is! Soft serve peanut butter ice-cream! But oh-no!! You have forgotten cash once again. Ice-cream stands notoriously only take cash. Thats why they are excellent money laundering facilities. But wait a jif! Look here, fellow millennial, this business must be legit. You can use your card here! Saved by what ever God Big Dip believes in (perhaps the bell) and you and I believe in his right to do so without being bothered about it and conversely not bothering anyone about it. Now if they only had tide-pod flavored ice-cream. ... Maybe they will. There's always an awesome "weekly" flavor to try! And the sizes here are pretty big, banana split for scale. Bring the whole fam and buy a cone for everyone. Your Boomer parents can sit at the picnic tables out back and complain about something you never thought of, let alone, would ever care about. And children love it here. They're always running through the plenty of extra parking in the overflow lot. My son can attest to that!

Love The Big Dip! My favorite ice cream is the creamsicle. They need to bring it back soon. The kids working there are very polite and nice.

I've eaten ice cream from the East Coast to the West Coast from Florida to New York and Ohio this is the best ice cream joint in the country. Very professional and courteous staff we come back every chance we get. Best ice cream for the best price in the area. Thanks for being open.

The ice cream was what you'd expect - great. Now, is it the "best in CNY"? No, not at all. Whoever claimed such a thing obviously never tasted ice cream in their life.
