I had a very special experience of American-style Chinese food with my family at Azu Lucy Ho’s restaurant in Tallahassee. We ordered House Pan-Fried Noodle, Nabeyaki Udon, and Mapo tofu. Here are some points to evaluate our experience: The portion size was huge, much bigger than what we are used to in northern China; The taste was similar to southern sweet dishes, but we could clearly feel that it was not traditional Chinese food, including the Mapo tofu which was also sweet and more refreshing, very unique; The appearance and texture of the Chinese dishes were still obvious, the Mapo tofu looked tempting, and the noodles were well-made. The only thing that I couldn’t accept as a Chinese person was that they put a lot of broccoli in both noodles, which masked the flavor of the other ingredients. The service was the best I have ever had in a Chinese restaurant, comparable to most western restaurants, a very good experience. I also want to share a funny story about our meal. When the waiter brought the noodles, I saw that the noodles looked like dry instant noodles on a plate, topped with a lot of beef sauce. I didn’t know how to eat it, so I asked the waiter timidly. He was stunned for a long time, looking at me, a Chinese person who only speaks Chinese, asking him how to eat noodles. He finally said that I just need to mix it and then eat it. I couldn’t use chopsticks to eat the noodles because of their shape, so I had to use a knife and fork to finish them. Overall, it was a good experience.
Trip Advisor rates this as the #1 Sushi Restaurant in Tallahassee. I agree! By far the best sushi I have had so far in the city. Service was amazing, and the food was even better. No happy hour specials, so this is definitely a place to come on a special occasion. Delicious!
The sushi lunch combo was fantastic! The sushi was fresh, even though I had it delivered. The Crispy spicy tuna roll was fantastic. The other roll I had was good but not my normal taste as it had cream cheese in it. I just picked a second roll at random so it's my fault I ordered it. The Krabi Rangoon was also delicious but I thought the sauce a little too sweet for my taste. The salad had Cucumber and mixed gree s. The ginger dressing was okay.
Will I be back? It is worth going to again. I may try a different sushi roll.
Tried and true, the best Chinese in town has to be Azu! At least based on their General Tso’s chicken. About as perfectly prepared as it could be - crunchy exterior, fluffy, juicy Middle, with a good coating of sauce that doesn’t ruin the crunch. The bento box is a good deal. Recently returned here with a friend who works at another Asian cuisine establishment and he was blown away by how well prepared their food was! My sister spent 8 weeks in China and said they have the most authentic Gyoza she has had in town. Great aesthetic for a date night too!
Consistently 4 stars, good food and service, only not 5 stars because I’ve never left thinking that was the most amazing thing I’ve ever had but I’m always really happy and I’m not going to say no if this place if suggested. I guess they recently took away bar seating which is a bummer for me. Also, I have an addiction to ginger dressing and I really do not like their ginger dressing, it’s watery or something. The decor, lighting, and music could be a little better but you shouldn’t pass up on at least trying this place. I’ll be back probably semi consistently a couple times a year.

Under new management and it shows!!! Very friendly smart staff, delicious food with good portion size and high quality for the price. Clean and appealing venue with good A/C (lol very important in a packed Florida restaurant) This is my favorite after work stop in the area, I feel comfortable dining alone at the bar but also it's a great place to plan to have a family celebration. You can treat your family to a nice occasion without breaking your budget. Highly recommend!
We had dinner here this evening and what a great experience!! Our waiter, Chris, was fantastic!! He made excellent recommendations and was very attentive!! The food here is delicious and plentiful!! I had the sweet & sour pork, my sister had the Crispy Orange Duck, and my husband had 3 sushi rolls!! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!! (I forgot to take pics)
Our first time eating here tonight. Very good food. The sesame chicken was very tasty as well as the fried rice and broccoli. Well definitely come back!
Take out on a busy Thursday. Sat at the sushi bar while waiting for food with my 6 year old. Staff was super friendly and patient.
Got home to exactly what I ordered, perfectly cooked and fresh.
Our service was great! We loved the food. Everything was delicious and fresh. The portions are large and we had enough to take home for lunch the next day.
Most things here are really tasty. I've has many different dishes and we often go as a family or get take-out. On Saturdays the dim sum is good. My faves are the different noodles, especially the rice noodles, salt n pepper shrimp, wings, mongolian beef, kids like the general tso.
They used to offer an awesome buffet until Covid; that's how I tried many other dishes. The sushi is good too.
I had to read over 200 reviews to find a sushi spot near FSU. Boy am I glad I came here! Service was phenomenal, quality of food was amazing, and I believe the price is set just right.
I had sushi and crab Rangoon with an eel bbq stack. Man I can’t wait to come back again!
The main course was pretty good but the appitisers were high verses the amount you received. 4 shrimp for like 12.95 . Too high for that.
