Ordered the $5 egg and cheddar and was merrily surprised at the generous size! Pleasant service and lightning fast cooking.

I checked this place out and liked it before pandemic, but it’s rather far from where I live so I haven’t ventured out until today. I’m so glad it’s still here, and the price hasn’t changed too much. The big gripe I have about Tallahassee restaurants is that things are not cheap (easily can send $15 for lunch anywhere) AND bad. So many places serve below mediocre food (that tastes like heated up frozen food or something made by someone who doesn’t know how to cook..or too gooey, too sweet, etc.) at over $10-12 range. This place is a simple sandwich and salad place, and they have them at $8-9 range. I’ve tried “Jammy” before pandemic and today I tried the bacon egg cheese sandwich with added avocado. It was simple but very good- perfectly griddled bread with good ingredients, not overly greasy or salty. Also they have pretty decent coffee! (Another thing missing from so many restaurants in town) They use Lucky goat beans and have an espresso machine. It seems they are understaffed, but they’re friendly. I wish it was closer or open on the weekend! I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a simple, good lunch and good coffee.

The last time I went to Freshroots Kitchen was probably like 8-10 years ago. And then I accidentally never went back, mainly because that's not my normal side of town. However, my 5-year-old requested a cute cafe for breakfast on our day together during spring break, so we ended up here, and I absolutely LOVED it. She got a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich, and she loved it, but it was so big she could only eat half. (We saved the other half and she had it for lunch.) I got the avocado, egg & cheese with the bacon jam, and WOW. Literally, the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The bacon jam was phenomenal, with just a tiny kick to it. My only wish was for more avocado (it was just one small slice per half), and that they would have mashed & spread it out (which I did end up doing myself). Still incredible though. I will make sure not to wait so long to go back again in the future!

I love this place! I get the Hooper every time and it’s delicious. They have great coffees too — lots of flavors to add to lattes! Only thing I would change is to add the option to leave a tip with cards. So many people don’t carry cash anymore and employees would probably take home a lot more for their work if we could leave card tips.

This is my absolute favorite place to get a light lunch and my all time favorite salad - the Black & Blue Caesar. I’ve never had a better tasting salad. The dressing is creamy and the Gorgonzola is delicious. When I go with my friend she always gets the Loaded Chicken Salad Salad and it’s almost just as good. So fresh and flavorful. We decided to share a melt the last time we went and each had half of a Horsey Melt, it was so good! Very soft and cheesy with plenty of meat. I will always recommend this place to everyone!

Cute restaurant in a surprising location. In the end of the plaza that is filled with medical offices, there is The Freshroots Kitchen. They offer creative sandwiches and salads, coffee, and sides. Seating indoors and outdoors. After ordering our food at the counter, we choose to sit under the shade trees at the tables in the grass. (Watch out for ants in a few spots). The food was ready in about 10 minutes. The Jammin' sandwhich with coleslaw. The Sweetie sandwhich with Gouda mac and cheese. The sweetie was definitely sweet almost like a dessert. The Jammin' was delicious with bacon jam, cheese, and jalapeños (plus more!). If you are thinking about stopping here at the unassuming restaurant, I highly recommend that you do. The service was friendly and the food is amazing.

I can in around 10:45 on a Tuesday. It was very quiet, and the place is tucked away. They had a sign saying they needed staff for both front and back of house and I could tell, but my service was great. A scrumptious little spot! I tried one of their sandwiches as well as their coffee of the week :)

Made my own salad. Everything was fresh and tasty. The salad was made in a timely manner, with all the ingredients properly on it. My only complaint is the chicken is a bit dry. Overall, great, healthy choice, reasonably priced. Will definitely revisit!

Was visiting another business in the plaza and the food aroma was so inviting. Entering it is cozy and pleasant the servers are nice, friendly and come across as happy to be at work and to help. I had a egg, bacon, cheddar melt on an English muffin it was made fresh served hot and delicious.

Food is fantastic. If they could tighten themselves up, this could be a great restaurant. Sandwich was awesome, but they forgot key items on the sandwich, forgot my sides, had to ask for utensils and napkins. Get it together. 5S. Read the work order.

Breakfast was delicious after getting my blood drawn at quest next door. They had a lot of to go orders so you know it has to be good! Prices were very reasonable.

This place is a gem. The food is just so simple yet so delicious. My go to is the club sandwich on sour dough. I tried the tomato soup and yep, another great choice.

In the past they have been fast and very good. We went today and it was slow. We placed our order for dine in at 12:05 and ended up having to ask for to go at 12:40, then got our order of 2 sandwiches and a bake Gouda Mac and cheese, 5 minutes later. The food was ok once I got back to my office.
