Woodchuck's Cafe is generally a great place to go for lunch or breakfast. It is fine for dinner if all you want is a sandwich or burger, but I tend to prefer something a bit more substantial and "dinner-like" for dinner.
Service is usually pretty good and the food is usually great. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is that consistency can be a big of a problem. For instance, if you order ham on a regular basis, you never know what you will get - thick sliced, shaved, bits and pieces - who knows? And if you're into presentation at all, forget it. Grits dripping down the side of the bowl and home fries hanging over the side of the plate are the norm. Does it affect the taste? Not at all, but just be advised - neatness in presentation is not their thing.
One thing they do get an "A" for is the their bathroom - at least the men's. It is always clean and well maintained. I mention this because small, locally owned restaurants often have less than acceptable bathrooms.
While I have my nits to pick, I still recommend Woodchuck's as one of the best restaurants of its kind in Tally.
Man, I've gone to Woodchuck's so many times, I may turn into one. Every singe item I've tasted has been nothing short of remarkable. Breakfast.......lunch.....you name it. If you haven't already, give this place a try. If you have, then you should be as enamored as I am.
The burgers here are good and they also offer breakfast. I would have given them a 4, except they only cook their burgers well done, and I prefer them Medium rare. Still worth eating !
It seems like a hole in the wall, but it is actually very tasty. Very filling and satisfying meals that will want you to come back and try something new on the menu 👌🏾

This place is amazing. My boyfriend and I decided to go somewhere different and this place really surprised us. It seems like a hole in the wall but once you're inside it's so cute! They even have an outside seating area. The food was fantastic and the menu has options for all taste buds. Best part is that it's super affordable.
If you are looking to get some yummy food in a sit down restaurant without spending a lot, this is the place. So much bang for your buck. My only complaints is there's never enough parking and the AC didn't seem to be working very well both times I've been there so it was a little uncomfortable.

The Quintessential Hole-in-the-Wall. Woodchuck's Cafe is the quintessential hole-in-the-wall. Nothing fancy will be found here. What will be found is great food. Once a week we travel to Woodchuck's to get a great breakfast. Once in a while we show up for lunch as well. Whether you come for breakfast or lunch, you won't be disappointed. My favorite breakfast is the biscuits and gravy - two big fluffy biscuits with a generous portion of gravy along with two eggs and a side of meat. Yummy stuff. I'm still working my way through all the burgers and haven't found a bad one yet, but the best is the Stuffed Woodchuck with blue cheese. You'll need a couple napkins, but don't worry, they've got you covered with big thick napkins, not the little tissue-thin single-ply rectangles you get at most other places.If you like potato salad, you'll love Woodchuck's potato salad and they aren't skimpy with the portion. The fries are good also, but I generally order the potato salad.
Service is always top notch and is another reason why we love Woodchuck's. Great food and great service. What more could you ask for?
Amazing food.. I've been searching for a snack place with amazing food for a fair price in Tallahassee and I've found it. Hands down best burger and fries in town.

I'm about to explode with all this pork goodness inside me.. Wait. Am I in the right place? This is a gas station, right? Well, yes I am. Unassuming hole in the wall places are usually my favorite, and Woodchuck's certainly did not disappoint. After checking a few yelp reviews, we decided to give this a try.
We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff, and sat at the bar. I was wanting breakfast, but a sandwich called the Three Little Pigs caught my eye. Bacon, freshly sliced Virginia ham and pulled pork on a potato bun. It was as amazing as it sounds. Everything was cooked perfectly. I handed it off to my girlfriend for a bite, and I thought she was going to stab me in the throat with a butter knife when I asked for it back.
We decided on the potato salad, which was delicious with nice pops of garlic. We also added fried okra and corn nuggets, well, because we're destined for fatness. They were fried perfectly golden brown, and tasted like rainbows and dreams.
My girlfriend had the club, which honestly, was pretty boring. Could've used more meat, a middle piece of toast, and perhaps something to set it apart from the myriad of other options in Tallahassee.
So, in summary, this place is a small, low key dinner that serves up some seriously great food, and I'm looking forward to returning. A homemade cupcake might be in my future, as long as I don't stuff myself with half a pig next time.
YUM! Why didn't I know about this place earlier?! It's easy to pass unless you happen to need gas at that exact moment (because it's connected to a gas station), buuuut the food and service is amazing. I had the cheddar stuffed woodchuck burger with fried okra instead of fries since fried okra is the best thing in the world. My mom had the breakfast special, chicken on a biscuit with honey butter and home fries. Everything was homemade and fresh and delicious. I totally recommend this place and I will be back!

Almost excellent. Went for lunch the other day. Ordered the patty melt with jalepeno mayo and a side of potato salad. The service at the counter was very good. The only problem I had was that they overcooked my burger. I ordered it medium and it came out well done. The burger was still juicy with good flavor...that was the only reason I didn't send it back(I've seen the movie Waiting too many times to risk it). This is a common problem with most burger joints. Not too many places know how to cook a burger medium or medium rare...pretty silly, just lack of attention to detail. The potato salad was excellent...homemade with a strong flavor of bacon. Maybe next time I will order medium rare and hope for better results. I will say that the ingredients were of good quality and the price was very fair compared to some of the other newer burger joints.
The best burgers in tallahassee hands down. They also have amazing breakfast-all for a great price. Super friendly staff, fresh ingredients and great atmosphere.

This is the best restaurant in Tallahassee hands down. I have been going here for a month and go at least once a week for either breakfast lunch or dinner and every meal I've had has been a 10/10 in my book including the deserts. They have homemade cupcakes and cheesecake with at least 10 varietys made by the restaurant owners mom. As for the specials, I've had the country fried steak, honey butter chicken biscuit, and Philly cheeseburger on a pretzel bun. All great. Highly reccommended. They should put a Philly Chessesteak on the menu!!! Or even keep the philly burger on the menu
Breakfast. This has become my new favorite breakfast place. The first time we went, my boyfriend had the Sunday special, which is the honey butter chicken biscuit (the chicken is HUGE), and home fries (this are a little different, but still good). I had the French toast, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of sausage. Everything was amazing!! We had all that, 2 drinks, and a tip was $17.
Wow!! Best Berger I have ever had.
I will be back for breakfast this weekend.

Popped in for b-fast. Cool and super clean. Classic neighborhood cafe, with great ingredients. Awesome, crisp homefries. OM eggs were perfectly cooked and the biscuits and gravy are second only to my dear Ma's- really! Oh, a great strong cup o joe tops off the meal. Service is spot on. Look out, Tally cafe's, this one will dentchyer bidness!
Try it!. Delicious. The season their burgers with more than just salt and pepper and it tastes great. Very sweet sweet tea. Their fries are thick cut and wonderful.
I am so glad that we found this wonderful cafe. The food is delicious and they serve you huge portions. I had the cartelized apple & pecan French toast and they were awesome! We took home a few helpings of their homemade peach cobbler for later. It was also very good.
The cafe itself is not fancy but it is comfortable, reasonably priced, and everyone of the staff are as friendly as they can be.
Woodchucks for breakfast!. Had breakfast at Woodchucks on a Monday. Special for the day was 2pancakes, 2eggs, 2sausage patties, and 2bacon strips for $4.99. Yep, thats right. The breakfast was excellent, the pancakes were homemade and huge. The waitresses were nice and very helpful. Cant wait to come back and try some of the "so-called" best burgers in Tallahassee!
Unassuming place. Great burger.. I was in the mood for a good burger. I had not been to Woodchucks, but saw some positives reviews on US. Very impressed. Friendly staff. Good assortment of burgers on the menu, but nothing pretentious . I had Patty Melt with caramelized onions and mushrooms with Swiss cheese. Not very healthy but very tasty. Homemade potato salad was still warm. Nice.
Yummy. Stopped in last rainy Friday night- I had stuffed cheddar Woodchuck burger, wifey had hamburger steak with gravy and mashed potatoes with (sub for green beans) fried okra. Burger came out hot with fresh slices of ripe tomato, fresh green leaf (I think) lettuce, and two sandwich slices of dill pickle. Hamburger was hot, with just the right amount of char for flavor. Fries cooked to perfection, and were hot and not greasy. Wifey's gravy was perfect complement to the potatoes. Friendly, clean joint. Total bill with us splitting a drink less than $18. This place is going to get crowded fast.

Impressive. I ordered the Dead Texan and was presented with a beast of a burger covered in bacon, sauteed onions and jalapenos between two thick slabs of Texas toast. It required two hands and was delicious. Service was top notch and Woodchuck's Cafe needs to be on any burger lover's to-do list.
Awesome Spot. Six Alarm was the best burger I've had in Tally. Staff was incredibly friendly. Will be back ASAP to have breakfast.
Fantastic burger. I tried the Western Burger with Onion Rings on it and gold BBQ Sauce. The burger was thick and cooked exactly how I ordered it. The staff is super friendly and the prices are a great value. This is a great hole in the wall.
Best patato salad ever, burgers better then Monks, and great food in general. Service was great and they have home made desserts. Today I had the corn beef sandwich on rye. OMG delicious and I'm VERY picky about my corn beef! Go! You won't be sorry!
Delicious. I got the Six-Alarm Burger, it was a perfect balance between heat and flavor. The staff was very friendly, their specials and everything on the menu looked delicious. I look forward to going back and having breakfast.

Recently I got a text from my friend Bill who told me I needed to check out Woodchuck’s Café on Tallahassee’s Westside. He raved about the burger and sealed the deal by noting the restaurant was attached to a gas station.
Over the ***TOP*** burger selections or BYO that are fairly priced. I havent had a single burger combo that disappoints. Only slight negative is you cant get it medium rare...just medium or higher. Maybe one day Ill be able to bend the chefs rules. But, for now....im still giving this restaurant 4.9998 stars! Awesome onion rings too! Very friendly waitresses. Everyone is on point when it comes to customer service and making sure your meal was prepped to order and your liking. Be sure to bring your appetite! get cha some Wood Chucks Cafe ASAP! Wow!! CC
I know it's cliché, but this is a true, local, hidden gem. The cheeseburger, and the Dead Texan, were amazing. Sat at the counter, and everything coming out looked just as delectable! Cold beer, mimosas and dessert. And don't forget the Brown Bag Special--bacon and beer. Beyond delightful service.

This place should be mentioned in the same conversation as midtown caboose and grub burger bar! Their burgers are pretty original and super well done. I like the Dead Texan and the Bacon Bacon Bacon burger (6 pieces of bacon). This is probably the most customizable burger place in town that isn’t one of the chain burger places. Also, get the honey chicken bowl for breakfast and thank me later! Kind of a hole in the wall feel that doesn’t have a ton of seating, but it’s worth a trip over there!
This place was seriously good! Had low expectations with it being attached to a gas station. Glad we risked it and ate here. Friendly staff, great food, and interesting environment. I had a chicken tender sandwich and tater tots. Big portion and really flavorful! Tater tots were super crispy. Will go back for sure! Lunch rush is no joke, though. The place got packed! Dont be surprised if it's too busy to sit down since the place is small and apparently very popular.
Hand pattied burgers seasoned perfectly. Steak fries cooked to a beautiful crisp yet soft on inside. Delicious to say the least. Oh and their Extra Dill pickles cut fresh are to die for. I ate the one off my burger and requested more and I'm not a big fan of pickles.
The food is never a bad decision! I have found that every dish I order is amazing. The staff are super friendly. And the coffee is always the perfect temperature. Great place. Hole in the wall location wise. But it’s a Diamond! 10/10 recommend!

This place is awesome, by far the best country fried steak I've ever had (that's a thick, hand breaded and fried steak, eggs, taters and choice of bread), everything is great...service, food, mimosas. Good prices and quantity.
Don't miss this hidden Tallahassee treasure, it sits connected to a gas station and parking looks limited, but I've always found a spot. If I had to, I'd park down the road and walk as far as needed for that country fried steak! New favorite breakfast/brunch place!
I got the stuffed woodchuck with fried okra. Amazing lunch! Burger and okra on point. Plus, Barqs available to drink with my meal. Only regret is I was too full to try a cupcake.

The food was good and plentiful, the staff was friendly and there were so many selections!!! The drinks weren't very tasty, but the price was good and restrooms were clean! Not much parking though! I'd eat there again!
Busy on the day after Homecoming, so there was a short wait, but we sat outside and had a lovely time. Food was great. Delightful little local place.
A few friends of mine saw this little diner a while back and we decided we wanted to try it today - our only regrets were not coming sooner. I ordered the King Kong and it was delicious and was definitely one of the best burgers I’ve eaten at Tallahassee. The atmosphere was really homey and the wait was not that long - we’ll definitely be back for round 2.
This place is so awesome. It's small but awesome. The parking lot small. The service was perfect, and the food was delicious and hot. The staff commented very well. They get you seated soon as you walk in. 10 outa 10. Will definitely be going back
