I'm 65 yrs old. Been going to Jim & Milts since my college days. A Tallahassee must for BBQ. The Hobo Platter is so southern...with fried corn on the cob and Brunswick Stew. I love this place!

Good decision! Reasonable breakfast prices ($3.49) with Biscuit and Gravy as a side. "Menu: Like grandmama used to make." These places are getting harder to fine in a world with more and more cookie cutter places filling every street!
A Tallahassee landmark, you must try J&M's at least once . There brunswick stew is very good and I like the yankee sandwich. Lots of history here! The service is always good, too!
Pretty comparable to Sonny's. I enjoyed it. We had the all you can eat chicken platter for like $9. What a great deal, especially if you come with an appetite. You start with a half chicken, coleslaw, garlic toast, and beans. Then, you get to refill it all as much as you want. Chicken and toat is great, but coleslaw and beans are just average.
Service is good and nice atmosphere. Parking lot is a little weird but it's Tallahassee so what can you do?
Great Game Day Spot. We always hit Jim & Milt's on game days either before or after the Noles crush whomever comes to town that particular Saturday. Love their Brunswick stew. Pork sandwich is also very good. Come on all you haters - this is a local color spot. If you're looking for fancy - go somewhere else. But if you're looking for a casual meal in a place that is real - this is it!

Cheap, tasty american BBQ. Very cheap and home cooked breakfast. Go twice a week for breakfast with my brother. If you don't like it than you must not like good BBQ.

Decent, inexpensive, family friendly. I've been going to Jim & Milt's about twice a month with a large group of people for the last few months. It's not gourmet, and the BBQ sauce is absolutely awful (I actually bring my own from a much-loved BBQ place in my hometown), but the food is always good, there's never a wait, and my order has always been correct. When dining out with a group of 10 - 20 people, that's actually quite impressive in this town. We frequently go on Thursday nights for the specials: 45 cent wings and $2.75 pitchers of beer. You also get a large cup of blue cheese or ranch dressing with your wings, which is a nice change from other wing places in town that charge 89 cents per tiny cup of their dressing. Two people can definitely dine and drink, with tip, for less than $20. Side item tip: if you don't like green peppers in your beans (eww), stay away from that dish.
If you're in the mood for wings, cheap beer, and/or fairly average burgers & BBQ, this is a good place to check out. However, as another reviewer said, if you REALLY want BBQ, you'll need to check out King BBQ or another smoker + shack set up on the side of the road somewhere. :)
Quality American Breakfast At Great Price. Every time my parents are in town this seems to be the breakfast spot we end up at. They always have all the breakfast favorites: omelets, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits. pancakes, French toast, and hot coffee. Their prices seem right in line for the quality and amount of food you get.
Try the Fried Corn. This place has sentimental value for me. My father used to take me there quite a bit. I like the food, except for the beans and the brunswick stew. (Who do you have to kill to get decent brunswick stew here?).
My kids like it, and we eat there 2-3 times a year. It's a little pricey for what you get, but I recommend it for lunch.
I personally love Jim & Milts BBQ!! For me, it's a place filled with wonderful memories and great food. I have found the staff to be nothing but kind, although the waitresses can be a little distracted. The only downside for me is the fact that they don't have cornbread

Great food, Great price.. Jim and Milts is my favorite BBQ place in tallahassee. Management is extremely friendly and know how to make customers happy. I highly reccomend it to everyone.
Jim & Milts is an institution and has great breakfasts and good beer specials. It's a convenient place to meet before FSU games. But if you're looking for great barbecue this isn't the place. The chicken is pretty good and the sauces are fine, but the pork is sliced instead of pulled--which for a barbecue fan is like ordering a grilled cheese sandwich and getting Velveta on Wonder Bread. The atmosphere is good, with picnic tables and lots of wood. But they haven't put a lot of effort into producing high end barbecue.
Good BBQ and a good breakfast as well.
I met my friend for dinner on my road trip, and we both enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I ordered the honey bbq wings and french fries. The wings were delicious and very filling - I could only finish 8 of the 10. I was a bit disappointed with the fries, as they seemed to be the frozen variety, but they were decent. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the wooden benches were fun and different. The service was quite good.
Pulled up for lunch and the parking lot was full, and I saw why. Very friendly staff, the pork sandwich was good- came sauce less, but there was sauce on the table with good flavor. The potato salad was delicious
We had a really good time with the people that we went with and enjoyed some really good barbecue. Even the corn and potato salad was delicious. All under $10 a head!!

Food was very good and prices were very fair. The service could have been better. The waitress was very friendly, but once she brought our food to our table,
I don't recall her making it back. Another waitress did come to our table to bring the check, and returned with a couple of items I'd asked for. There were plenty of waitresses, but they were up by the counter and not getting to the tables very often.
In summary, very good food at very reasonable prices, very friendly servers, but not the greatest service. I would definitely return, as the good food and fair prices make up for the service, or lack thereof. And the service could have easily been a one time deal, as I'm from out of town and don't get to this establishment often.
My coworker and I went here for first time. The food was amazing, and the sweet tea was SWEET!! I got the chicken fried steak lunch special. It was a great price. That meal filled me up. I didn't eat dinner that night. The portions were amazing. The lady helping us was so sweet and nice. I wish I would've gotten her name to put on this post.
Been eating here as far back as I can remember and just returned for the first time in years. It was as good as I remember! Love the BBQ sauce! Everyone in our party was pleased and satisfied and even had leftovers to take home! Owner, Mike was so friendly and generous with us. True southern hospitality and eating!

Just tried for the first time and it was so good! We ordered and the food was ready in 10 minutes. Everyone was so nice and the prices were great. 2 sandwich meals with 2 sides of fries and a side of onion rings for $17~. They even brought my boyfriend and I water while we were waiting for our take out. BBQ sauce that came with the sandwiches were so good!
Man I'm so happy this place is still around. I went here in college a lot in 06-09. I'm back in town now and have already been twice. Their food is good and at a great price. They are really one of the only spots in the country I have been to that does a thin sliced BBQ sandwich. Not pulled, copped, or thick cut brisket, im talking deli thin slices. It really is a great way to serve up smoked meats. And their sauce... I could drink it straight from the bottle. No frills just affordable good food. Never change please!!!!
The prices shown on here is at least 2$ off. The wings aren't 7.99 they're 9.99 with veggies. I've been coming here for over 20 yrs so I've seen the prices climb. I guess they're trying to keep up with other wing places which I wish hadn't happened. It's nicer going to a local than a franchise. So sad. Food is still good though.
This is one of those places where the menu has something for everyone and you can order anything and it will be good. My work buddies and I always fall back on Jim and Milts as our tried and true, where everyone can get something they like. My personal favorite burger is the Breakfast of Champions; it's a burger that comes with a large beef Patty, bacon, cheese, fried egg, and hash browns on top all made to order. My buddies usually spring for their wings with awesome sauce. Really solid place.
I have been coming here for about 4 years for the Wing special on Tuesdays. It is variable around .69c a wing and $2.99 a pitcher (Bud/Michelob varieties) and sometimes going with the Yankee sandwich (on BBQ bread and is pretty good). They do a nice diner type breakfast too. The staff consists of young female students mostly with some older experienced staff, so service is pretty good since they get some training. We have tried a few other places for wings but this place seems to be as good and since we are known there it is nice to walk in and be greeted with a pitcher of our usual and a smile.
